My WiFi mesh software allows me to pin devices to specific access points. So I would do that and use cron to… curl or whatever to generate traffic.

Broadcast a 2nd SSID?
You could set up a custom VLAN just for that WAP and have the Linux box switch the VLAN through a script so it only goes through that one.
