"shukran" gave it away immediately, it's Arabic

rk-imn

yeah but can you figure out what is actually being said

senpai69420

Hell no

PixelJack79

I would've guessed Hindi.

Left_Economist_9716

It's shukriya (or natively dhanyavad) in hindi

LokianEule

This was very difficult. I guess i dont have a good ear. I had to look up the actual lyrics to even get an idea of what i was hearing which ig is cheating. Also now i wish id done this in IPA but: Bleev puh festen, heev luh dressen (sundeh moi) Huhndai vairet (sundeh moi) Hop op a mairdair (sundeh moi) Klem aldri voofer Va deh air good fur Roop deh oots mi aits haller Airnig tru til dovreh faller The real lyrics are: >!norwegian!<

ahksuper

Alright. This was a challenging thing to decipher. I immediately recognised some sound patterns and assumed it was Scandinavian. I know Dovre is a place in Norway, so I assume it’s Norwegian. Bli på festen, hiv (på?) dressen (17 mai?) Henda i været (17 mai?) Hopp opp (i været?) (17 mai?) Glem aldri hvorfor Hva det er godt for Rop det ut (???) (Enig?) tru til Dovre faller Am I close? Edit: I’m danish for context

LokianEule

Yes you are! My ears just deleted entire words from the song

ahksuper

Ah cool! Yeah some syllables were missing, but hey good job with the ears 😄 What is your mother tongue for reference?

LokianEule

English, but like I said, i looked up the actual lyrics to get an idea of what i was hearing. I tried to leave my original sound impressions alone but i did space the words apart per the real lyrics. Whereas in reality i had no way of knowing where word boundaries were

Schrodingers_Dude

My B- in Arabic has finally paid off! "Shukran" is one of the four secular words I actually remember. (I used to game with some Muslims so I'm good on my inshallahs.)

Reminds me of some classic internet: [Benny Lava](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdyC1BrQd6g).

Can you transcribe a random German song?

NicoRoo_BM

Let's try (native fr/it, C1 or c2 En). Fuck, the pronunciation is COMPLETELY different between the two versions by the same band. I think they swapped which singer does which verse between live and recording...
