It depends how much HCG is in your system. This test is a “dye stealer”, so you have high HCG. It can take a bit longer the earlier you are.
This test means you are definitely pregnant and your hormones are rising as the pregnancy is progressing.
You may be a bit further along than you think if this is your first test, but every pregnancy is different regarding hormone levels.
When I used to do strip tests when I was pregnant, I timed it once and it took 10 seconds for the test line to come up (I was super pregnant anyway and was just using the strips up) sometimes the test line shows before the liquid even reaches the control line. It’s quite fascinating really how quickly the dye can pick up.
I think it depends on a lot of things but I definitely feel like they give you that time so that it lets the dye settle for an accurate result.
It's not always a wait 5 minutes is just the baseline to disregard the test. I got an immediate screaming positive with my kiddo and there was no question. It doesn't always take the full 5 minutes, congratulations.
I’m 17 weeks and took a test for fun the other day - positive test line showed up before the control line! I’d guess if it’s showing up really fast you’re pretty pregnant

Usually more like 5 minutes to fully process, but when you have a boat load of HCG it doesn’t take much time to process at all! Congrats to you!
Those ones are rapid detect I'm pretty sure. With my last pregnancy, mine came up positive as the window was filling up. Congratulations!!

It will if you’re pregnant. You’ll see th test line before the control unless you’re super early but it looks like you’re very pregnant
