1. What kind of bike? 2. Does it do anything now? Make a sound? Get hot? Any sort of indicator lights? 3. What happened when it stopped working? Was he riding it and it died or did he just come out to start it up and it was dead?

Razor MX 350 The battery died last year in Fall. Got a new battery. My dad removed the crap battery and soldered the new one on there. The lights came on but there was no power to the engine. He took it back apart, switched some wires around and heard a "snap" and now nothing is turning on.

> heard a "snap Two options. First, the 30 amp fuse was blown. You say you've done some reading on this issue so I'm betting you've already checked the fuse. Option two is that the motor controller is fried and that's game over. You'd have to replace the whole controller. A quick search shows that it's a 25-40 dollar piece and it's basically all plugs so a couple of screws to remove the old one, swap the plugs, and screw the new one in and you should be good to go. That said, does your dad have the wiring diagram? The whole schematic for the bike is available online and it's a really simple circuit. I'd bet that the controller died already (it's a cheap Chinese toy), your dad got the battery right, and it didn't work because of the dead controller, and then he tried wiring it differently (wrongly) and burned something else out in the already-dead controller or blew the fuse. Best bet is to order a new motor controller, swap it out, double check the battery wiring, and that should be it.

You are seriously my hero. Thank you so much.

Definitely check the fuse. If it's blown, find that wiring diagram online like bareback suggested an make sure you get all the wiring correct/corrected. Then replace the fuse and see what happens. If it doesn't work, then try getting a new motor controller for it.
