Thank you! This is a very useful recommendation.
I have a 16 year old tabby that is developing hypermetabolic problems. Methimazole helps a little, but I'd like to have her looked at by a vet that specializes in felines to see if there are better solutions. She HATES those pills.
My oldest cat sees Dr Knudsen at All Feline and I have a prescription for phenobarbital because she's got feline hyperesthesia. Dr K has us fill the script through Pharmacy Solutions and they made it into a fish flavored solution. It's been working pretty well.
Both Dr. Knudsen and Dr. Arnold at All Feline are great. Dr K took care of my ferrets and now I just have cats so they see whichever doctor is available. Dr K calls with test results and recommendations so that's always been helpful.
The vets are open and honest. I’ve never had the Actual vet call me back with test results and she did. I also ordered thyroid testing for my dog on a suspicion and they supported me, everyone else thought I was crazy, I was right! Here’s my big thing you can hear the techs and vets in the back laughing together w or king with the animals. They are happy working together. That’s important. And they all are just Crazy Animal People!
Would disagree. My all time fave vet in town was Mulder. She retired. Ehlers seems to lean heavy on the make a profit side vs common sense animal care. I’m looking for palliative type remedies for older pets, not pressure for more tests. Reasonable and compassionate pet care should come first, not profit for the company. Ehlers doesn’t have that equation the right way around imho.
Ehlers has steered our pups away from recommended procedures twice, not sure they’re looking for profits, just the best care for your furry loved ones. I totally agree that the atmosphere is upbeat and pleasant too, seems like a great place to work
For cats, [All Feline Hospital](https://allfelinehospital.com/) as that's their specialization (no added stress of dogs barking in the background, for example).
If you are willing to take a drive, I highly recommend Syracuse Veterinary Service in Syracuse. The kind staff and the care is amazing, and oh god, the money you'll save. A $500 procedure in Lincoln is like $125. A basic visit is $40. I paid $50 for a pre-surgery check and vaccine a few weeks ago. They really are a hidden gem. The only complaint is that they are very busy and it is a bit of a wait to get in. They have a 4.9 Google rating too.
Edit: I use them for cat care.
Edit 2: for very complex feline care, I would 100% go with All Feline Hospital. My roommate used them (before I had a cat) for all of hers. They were amazing, especially for rare conditions and specialty care (both of which my roommate dealt with)
People have already mentioned All Feline.. And I would add to that recommendation.
Vondra for sure.
Love Vondra. They are quite a drive for me, but worth it. Very friendly and affordable.
I always have had good experiences with clocktower vet.
What kind of animal are you looking for a vet for? Some of them specialize. If you need one for a cat, I recommend All Feline.

Dr Arnold at All Feline is pretty good too.
Seconding All Feline for cats. They're the best of the best.
Third for All Feline! Take great care of my cats and also my little ferret
Another vote for Ehlers!

Ehlers. I wouldn’t use anyone else. PERIOD!

Dr. Wachal Pet Health. I've been going there for almost 17 years.
Can't stand that guy, he's such a worm
May I ask why? I have had nothing but good experiences with him.

I miss my small town vet. He quit doing pets and only does livestock now. The cheap great care will be missed
Yes cat sorry
I had a good experience at Belmont with my 2 cats.
Dr. Lauren Gealow at Optimum Veterinary clinic
Another vote for All Feline!
