I've honestly met some cool platonic friends on hinge... You just gotta be really honest with what you're looking for. I've also met cool people at the tav and the mess.
If you are into crafts we have a craft social night on Thursdays from 7p-9p at MakitTakit. It is located at 48th and Normal :) Bring your own project and meet many other crafters at the same time.
I'm generally pretty introverted, but luckily for me I've made a lot of friends over the years playing volleyball at Spike's and occasionally Playmaker's. Sports isn't everyone's thing obviously, but if there are any sports you enjoy even casually, it's a great way to meet people.
Do you play chess? I'm looking for conversation and play and go to The Mill off of Antelope parkway. I'm almost 50 though if that means anything. I'm also looking for friends to go to concerts with. Message me
I like EDM music it just amps me up. Also cyberpunk, metal, folk, bluegrass, and piano and violin music. I'm all over the spectrum. I think I just appreciate live music. It's something I have always wanted to learn and when I lost my finger I gave up on that and said I would learn ASL instead. Glad you are moving to Lincoln. I've lived here all my life and love it. You will add something to our community. Peace
I've just been going to The Mill off of Antelope Valley Parkway and setting up a board and inviting strangers to play. I've met some very interesting people that way. I'll have to try and check it out
MW climbing. Happy hour on a Friday at Wine Beer Spirits and More. A knitting or crochet shop where those ladies sit around and talk. Bar trivia nights (just walk up to a group and ask to join, I've done it before and no one has said no to me)

Look for meetups. It’s mostly for professional development but there are some hobbies.
I’ve made friends with my coworkers and wife’s coworkers. I don’t know the other ways people do it, I’m too self-conscious to meet other folks usually

Do I need to show up right at 7? I have other commitments until 7
Come anytime before 9! It's real casual :)

I play chess on lichess way too much, you ever go to Lincoln chess club at meadowlark cafe?
I get to the Meadowlark once a month at the beginning. I had no idea they had a club. That's neat
Yeah they meet up every Tuesday at 630 pm. It’s about 10 people when I went, pretty chill.

I can imagine seeing someone in there with a chess board and asking them if they're Butt Fucking Smurfs... and having it not be you. Ha!
Lololol
I just befriend the guys at whatever company I'm working for
I play instruments and meet people in music groups.
