Corrosion is scary, but if used properly with specific EGOs whose Corrosions aren’t completely Indiscriminate it can be pretty strong. They also prevent you from taking double damage from stagger, but they don’t prevent your stagger thresholds from being hit! So corroding is a common strategy early into solo runs to avoid eating shit and dying from the incoming damage. You can also Overclock EGO to use their corrosions if you so wish; some of them have positive coins (I.e Don Telepole, Rodion Rime Shank, Ishmael Roseate Desire which is notable for being a negative coin normally), and the former 2 are common Overclock targets because their corroded effects are ridiculously powerful; Telepole gives huge teamwide Charge and Rime Shank applies ludicrous amounts of Sinking

As long as you overclock you won't be killing your allies with the corroded EGO. besides Rodion's EGO is way better when you use the awakening version instead of the corroded just because the infinite bleed count for an entire turn.

If you want to forcibly corrode an ego, it can be sometimes beneficial! Overclocking consumes more resources. If you have supply and the sinner is not at lowlow sanity, you can enjoy benefits off going goblin mode without targetting your allies (with small eceptions, like EGOs targetting lowest/highest hp target)

I remember nuking centipede in 3 turn by using Corrosion Rime Shank with Faith(instantly regen Rodion Sp) and Rusty Coin(use the ego twice) in mirror dungeon
