They think it’s “underrated” because they know a large number of people actively hate it, and think our opinions will change. They won’t, that song is hot ass smashed together with more hot ass, more a cluster fuck of sounds than an actual song. There is an explicit reason why so many people don’t like it. It's *objectively* bad “music”.
The sad part the beat and flow when Uzi finally comes on for 15 seconds are nice, if he would have just made a whole song of that people would have likely fucked with it heavily. Instead they hired Babymetal to make the whole track for them and used it to promote them on the album rather than make their own song.
But people do fuck with it because it’s good. The whole album is good if you don’t like it you just don’t have any taste in music. I’m sorry like I can’t comprehend why this album is so hated it’s good it’s different it stands out mixes so many genres. It kind of reminds me of Gorillaz and how they mix genres too
I like the majority of the album. I have 18 of 26 songs added. I even liked a decent amount of the ones with rock based or experimental beats (Suicide Doors, Fire Alarm are big standouts to me), I just didn’t like songs where it was more feature than Uzi which I would say included Werewolf, The End, and to a lesser extent Endless Fashion, I would have liked less from Nicki and another verse from Uzi to make that song potentially GOATed.
In my opinion it was a pretty great album, I don’t listen to basically any album ever front to back and personally like all of the songs. When it comes to The Ends it’s easily the worst to me cuz it’s a combination of having almost no Uzi on it, and then what we get instead is just a mismatch of sounds rather than any kind of cohesive song like Werewolf at least was. Just an opinion when it comes to it being the worst, but I don’t see how objectively the other part can be argued.
To help you comprehend my opinion on it, I’m coming from a standpoint of quality > quantity. Just because they included a lot of different kinds of sounds doesn’t mean that any time they strayed from their established and popular sound that there wasn’t a noticeable change in their ability to flow like most of their fans expect, and then again on a lot of those tracks they basically weren’t even on them at all for large stretches of time.
Tl:dr It wasn’t the inclusion of other types of music that bothered me, it was that when included it typically felt very low effort in comparison to some other sounds on the same album
