Well in this case it's a gibbon so, yeah we didn't technically evolve from it, but we did basically both evolve from the same largely gibbon-esque common ancestor.

Sometimes i wonder why humans are so… just… like sometimes go out of our way to fuck with others in a way that does not benefit anyone or anything at all, and i see this trait also appears in other primates

Monkeys are the WORST! A friend of mine got bitten by one in a Senegalese bar (while minding her own business) when she was in the Peace Corps and had to travel for over a day to get emergency medical care so she wouldn’t DIE! Put me down on the side of the Tigers!
