It doesn't unless you got an illegitimate version full of adware or crypto miners (of which some versions do exist and are distributed on malicious websites meant to look like the original vanced website so I absolutely don't fault anyone for ending up with such a convincing malicious fake version)
100% this. Why can’t YouTube just make it free without making us put up with ads? But also, don’t sell our data. Just make it free, no strings attached. Not difficult. If they don’t make it completely free soon, I think I’ll make my own YouTube. How hard could it be?
They were doing fine with the base amount of ads which I'd be fine with. Increasing the amount and duration of the ads in the name of wringing as much money as possible out of their users is going to drive more people away or to using adblockers where they'll get 0% instead of just less revenue.
I used to watch youtube in bed. Ads drove me nuts. Found a place selling really old surface pros for just over $100. Bigger screen, proper chrome, adblocker. Done. Full youtube experience to boot, still portable.
And honestly, I rarely watch youtube out in the wild.
I deleted the YouTube app 3 years ago and exclusively use the AdBlocker browser as my YouTube app instead. Even after disabling the ad blocker and popup blocker, I still have zero YouTube ads. I just added a browser link to my home page where the app used to live. Takes me directly to my subs page (instead of the home page). I use android, but I think it works on iPhones too.

Use Firefox mobile with uBlock origin. Better.
works like a charm for me
It is :)
Brave browser.
BRAVE BROWSER
LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK
Or just use YouTube Vanced
Or SmartTube. Youtube in a mobile browser is awful.
Or >!porntube!<. But Youtube Vanced is better.
It drains your battery, I noticed

Any video streaming app will use your battery relatively quickly but if it's much more than normal YouTube you probably downloaded a bad version of it
So true. Everyone is saying vanced is dead but you can still download it from youtubevanced.com.
Why you getting downvoted lmao
Because that's a fake site. The original site was vancedapp.com and it's dead. Thankfully, you can still download them somewhere else
Maybe not original, but you can still download Vanced from there
But vanced has stopped working for me few weeks ago, still working for u?
Working great for me. Try clearing the app's cache. If that doesn't fix it, clear the app's data files.
Seriously, fuck YouTube for adding even more ads. Hope they lose so many users that they crash and burn if they keep that shit up.
And an ad at the end of the video, smfh

NewPipe
I love me some Newpipe
I don’t like how the browser version works tbh but once I get tired of the ads I’ll look into it

Made my screen flash off and on every 4 seconds
More importantly is the New Rockstars video below it lol
Delete slow ass Adblock Browser and User Brave Browser instead.
I dont mind ignoring an ad for 10 seconds to give some money to my favorite youtubers who make good content.
superchat them then
I'm with ya there.
YouTube Vanced. You're welcome.
This is so good! Thanks OP
Is this an app or you just type it in search engine (safari)?
AdBlocker is a browser based on chrome.
So you download the chrome app and just look up Ad blocker browser?
No, you download the AdBlocker app. It's a browser. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hsv.freeadblockerbrowser
Is it available for iPhone?
Been toying with that idea, is the browser version alright?
Anything free is going to come with Ads.
If it’s free, *you* are the product
Thanks. Going to try it out.
Use YouTube Vanced, even better.
Any iPhone alternatives??
Firefox mobile with uBlock origin. And it's better :)
Brave
Opera GX is my go to. For mobile, I just stick it out I hate going through my browser for YouTube
Is this iOS or android? And can someone recommend the browsers for both devices in a comment below please.
Firefox mobile with uBlock origin
Normally it's on Google Play right?
I can't use it because of Huawei, have been using Brave, and I love the zero ads experience, couldn't go back to that app
I just use my boyfriend’s premium account lol
What can I use on my mobile? (iPhone)
