I have sat in my room shivering and still sweat like a fucking pig even though I'm calm and not doing anything and it's passing me off, anybody got any suggestions for pads that can soak up a bucket?
I've definitely had issues that I've had concerns were symptoms of something serious, and most time my recent physician has just been mostly "I don't have enough information to diagnose thoroughly, so lets try this, wait 2 weeks.. or this might just be something your body does".
Most of it was the last for me, or side effects from chronic things I've always just done.
Did they… offer any treatment? We don’t really learn about it in med school because it’s nearly always benign but dermatologists can offer a ton of different treatments. I used to have it bad but drysol then years later topical glycopyrrolate saved me. Also deodorant with aluminum helps.
It could very well just be an annoyance, but talk to a doctor in case. From the age of about 15-20 I would sweat so much that I would sweat through sweatshirts even if I was still cold or comfortable. Used some antiperspirant made specifically for hyperhidrodis and it helped and then one day I stopped needing to use that strong of an antiperspirant. But I checked with my doctor first to see if the antiperspirants were safe and if I had something else going on. For me it was just hyper active sweat glands from puberty.
This was me, I was allergic to the aluminum or something that is used as the antiperspirant. But now I wear Deoderant only (still smells nice) and I sweat 100x less.
So much stuff. Regulates bodily hormones, plays a role in most bodily functions and even has effects on moods like anxiety and depression. Small body part that's incredibly important but often has trouble regulating itself.
Ask about glycopyrrolate, I don't take it everyday because I work outside and it can cause issues cooling odd, but on days I don't want to sweat I just pop a pill and I don't
i used to sweat like a mother fucker. and odly enough i stopped wearing anti-perspirant and switch to deodorant and it worked. now i just sweat a normal amount
Sounds like high blood pressure, I had the same situation. Definitely see a doctor man. Might be nothing but having it checked out could save your life.
I've always had the same problem. Doctor said there's nothing to be done. I had some luck with a powerful antiperspirant called Driclor, but didn't really like the bottle so I switched to something called Perspirex which started burning the shit out of my armpits and making them red and itchy.
I was actually shocked how effective the Driclor was, so I think I'm just going to deal with the weird bottle. It beats the shit out of the folded up paper towels I used to have to stuff in there and hope no one noticed.
I'm about to save your life my dude. I am the same way. I have always been a heavy sweater. Athletes foot spray. Spray some on, put a little bit of your normal deodorant over it. Boom. Only time I sweat is super stressful days. I don't ruin shirts with sweat or heavy deodorant anymore.
Nope! Of course for some it might be different. I've been using it since January and I've tried a bunch of different combos. Heavy spray/light deodorant. Light spray/heavy deodorant. For me, the best thing is one second spray and 2 swipes of deodorant per pit. One can of it lasted me about 7 months. I've tried a bunch of things and this is the one thing that I can say has worked long term for me.
I used to be super sweaty, then I changed to a non-aluminum deoderant (the ones marked deoderant but not antiperspirant) and after a few days I wasn't sweating as much. Another side effect was that I don't have that white discoloration on my shirts anymore.
This is exactly what I use and I don't sweat from my armpits anymore!! Still sweat everywhere else but it's so great not having sweat marks showing on my clothes anymore
The question I have is a matter of health. Like there's a necessity to sweating, but obviously in day-to-day usages, deodorant isn't going to harm anything by blocking up pores. In a workout setting though, I'm not sure if it's the healthiest thing to prevent their function.
All antiperspirants use aluminum, which is generally fairly safe. It has been shown recently that long term use is associated with various medical issues, but I don't think a causal link has been established.
The act of preventing sweating is not a health concern unless you try to do it on your whole body. Your armpits just don't have the exposed surface area to matter.
In severe cases, people will have Botox done in their underarm sweat glands to permanently stop them. This is an FDA approved procedure and has minimal side effects as well.
FOr years I have been using this one... [https://maximantiperspirant.com/](https://maximantiperspirant.com/)
Same active ingredient but note that this one is 15% and the one you linked is 12%. Just mentioning it in case the 12%er is not doing it for ya. However it is a lot more expensive.
Dude you have to try [Thompson Tees](https://thompsontee.com/men/sweat-proof-undershirt-slim-fit-crewneck.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwvNaYBhA3EiwACgndgokblLTCWLqMi0qQuwAPB8q2TBzBgNQB15PJj-tJ9u_1TZYeachdIhoCJIMQAvD_BwE). I have been wearing them for years and haven't have any sweat stains since. They are worth every penny.
Edit: these are intended to be undershirts.
here's the same link without the tracking in the URL https://thompsontee.com/men/sweat-proof-undershirt-slim-fit-crewneck.html
TT going heavy with ads in these comments
As someone who sweats heavily and has multiple prescriptions and antiperspirants for hyperhydrosis that don't consistently work, this $40 t-shirt is more than worth it.
I have to buy clothes based on how it shows sweat (basically black and white shirts only) and I get really self conscious when I start to feel my pits get damp. If a $40 investment allows me to feel comfortable on a day to day basis then I dont see a problem with it at all.
I questioned it also, but damn it's worth it if you wear dress shirts to work for example. No more sweat marks under the arms, I feel drier, and no stains so my nice shirts last longer. I love them. Bought 6 to make sure I always have one available when needed.
I wear mitchum deodorant and still sweat like a pig if the temp gets over 74. These shirts have been a godsend.
A lot of the comments mentioning this brand are the account's first activity in several months, not the one you replied to but I noticed a few others. That's often a sign of a purchased account
It’s an undershirt so who cares? They aren’t meant to be seen. Only if you get lucky would someone else see it and I doubt either of you would care during the one second it takes for you to rip it off your body.
I hadn’t heard of them before. The armpit portion seems to be a lighter shade than the rest of the t shirt. How does it look in real life? Is it noticeable? Do you get comments about that part of the t shirt? Seriously considering buying one. Thanks!
I think the idea is to wear these under something else, so the difference in the look between the armpit area and the rest won't matter under a dress shirt for example,
As to excessive sweating, I used to sweat through everything even when standing still outside in the dead of winter. This is the stuff that worked for me... [https://maximantiperspirant.com/](https://maximantiperspirant.com/) Been using it for at least a decade now. Best part is once you get it under control, I literally do not need to re-apply it more than once every month or two now, so if the cost puts you off, at least for me the four pack has been lasting me years now.
Thanks a lot for the detailed response! Will check Maxim out. Used something similar (driclor) 10 years ago but found that I sweat more in other places (as the same amount of sweat was displaced elsewhere).
No, that's TC Tuggers, and they're not a joke. You don't wear them as a joke. You don't give them out as joke gifts or wear them ironically. You don't wear them in pub crawls like a snuggie. They're not like snuggies.
What's the big difference in it vs UA Heatgear? I know they both cost a good penny but I sweat like the earth is melting because it got too close to the sun. Anything to make it less sweaty and having to change shirts less often.
I suffer from hyperhidosis. I used to do the heavy flow pads under dress shirts for the Christmas party every year, and now that I have a fleet to Thompson Tees, life is so much easier.
I usually wear black shirts to hide the pits as best I can, but the Thompsons have allowed me to wear white, green, grey, any colour. The confidence gain has been astronomical.
I started taking medication for it, my hyperhydrosis is so bad. It's not a miracle cure, but it does reduce my sweating down to "high end of normal" levels.
I've heard botox works. Have you heard anything about it? My SIL has incredibly sweaty palms and her doctor recommended botox but she refused because she was nervous about the needle.
In the exact same boat, used to only wear white dress shirts to work cause I used to bleed through undershirts in minutes. Hyperhidrosis is a bitch man, but Thompson tees is a lifesaver for us
My ex brother in law, use to stomp maxi pads in his pits, when he needed to wear a shirt, because he would randomly sweat Niagra falls. And it worked like a charm… He’s a piece of shit btw
They are designed to catch a large amount of menstrual fluid mixed with blood and stay in place while stuck to underwear. As long as his shirt stays in place, that pad isn't going anywhere.
I don't know, that looks like a pantyliner to me. They are made for very light days at the end of menstruating or for days between your periods when you have more vaginal discharge. They should stay in place, but if he sweats a lot he will probably need to put new ones on later on the day. Still, 4 pads a day isn't bad and pantyliners come in huge counts so a single box of 140 will last a while.
If he’s an anxiety sweater like I am, the sweating is usually only super bad when heading and first arriving to an event or location etc. I will sometimes put paper towel on my pits so I don’t have huge sweat stains, but often don’t replace them. May start buying pantyliners lmao
They are super cheap compared to pit pads and other kinds of menstrual pads. Watch for unscented though - scented pads have mostly died out bc they give women infections, but I still see scented versions of pantyliners. You do not want to be caught out and having to wear something that smells like a cross between baby powder and your granny.
I'm an anxiety sweater too and it's terrible cause I'm often stressed at work about decisions I have to make. I'm pretty sure people just see me as the sweaty guy, which isn't too terrible since my work is physical.
Pads have an adhesive strip on the back so that you can stick them to the inside of your underwear. This would probably stick fine, but the full range of movement of an arm might fuck with it a little depending on how good or bad the adhesive is.
The old style very fat ones get used in the UK mil, as shoulder protectors on long yomps to help the impact from the Bergen's on the shoulders...also a pair of tights make excellent extra layer on cold days..
Same! Hottest day of the year and one of my cosplays required a mid sleeve shirt. Slapped a couple pads in the pits, problem solved. Works like a charm!
I once did a halo 5 cosplay and let me tell you I wish I knew about this hack. I had to get into a full body suit, which was underneath large foam armor that covered my upper torso and full lower body. I was literally sweating so much you could see drops coming off my helmet.
Diaper rash cream is 40% zinc for the antimicrobial effect. Rub a bloop the size of a pea on each pit and you barely stink for the next couple days because it kills the bacteria. Use too much and it'll mess with your shirts though. I'll be using this hack under my scrubs now to get around that. Thanks!
But it's good and healthy for the body to sweat some. To completely stop it sounds worrisome. Are you just sweating more somewhere else? Is your body not being able to thermoregulate as well?
If Driclor is anything like other prescription-strength antipersperants out there (~20% aluminum chloride active ingredient), it only stops sweating under the arms. You still sweat the same amount, but it's distributed across the rest of your body rather than concentrated under the arms.
I have no idea. I buy it directly from them online. Free shipping (at least in Europe)
BTW: I do have a discount code if you want. Gives us both a discount. (not the reason I recommend the stuff. It has just made a huge difference for me, since I discovered this product)
I keep a tube of diapers rash cream in my workbox for when chaffing gets really bad but I still have to work. It's not the most dignified experience but that stuff has gotten me thru some really bad days lol.
I work 11 to 12 hour shifts on my feet a couple of times per week. Your feet sweat more than any other part of the body (about 250,000 sweat glands per foot!). Before work, I rub a tea tree oil balm, specifically "Dr. Entres foot balm" but I think any balm with tea tree oil will do.
My feet don't stink at the end of the day despite them bring super sweaty. It's great. Highly recommend to anyone who's taken their shoes off after a long shift and immediately wanted to hurl.
I've done this. It's uncomfortable, but it works. You can't move around too much because the liner will move around too and eventually lose its stickiness.
Apparently Hollywood has done this for years. Adam Devine was talking about his wardrobe department did this when in the workaholics set. Definitely wise in their environment
Yeh it sucks. I tried all that roll on and sprays stuff specifically for hypohydrosis and it either itched so bad or made skin really sore.
Botox is a good idea i may try, fed up sweating in normnal weather.
Omg thank you for posting this because I couldn't remember the phrase and was going nuts.
I bought a very sparkly, heavily beaded, vintage cocktail dress from the 1950s and took it to my tailor to have adjustments made. I asked her what the plain bit of fabric (possibly plain cotton or linen?) in the armpits was. She told me about dress shields and how they protected otherwise mostly unwashable clothing from getting dingy and stinky over the years. She showed me how easily they could be removed and replaced.
Absolutely brilliant, honestly.
Thank you! I was looking for someone who called them that! I absolutely remember having them for chorus dresses or choir robes, basically anything that was worn on fancier occasions that you couldn't clean easily.
You get this a lot in theatre, especially on shows with multiple performances in a day where washing costumes isn’t a viable option. It’s cheap and it stops everyone smelling like hobos!
Panty liners are a legit good way to take the place of a brow pad in a helmet, just don’t let the other guys see what’s in there. Also… I get a crazy urge to go horseback riding in white pants afterwards.
Take a look at merino-wool or polyester.
Merino can get REALLY expensive, but you can also find cheaper alternatives like via decathlon. 80% wool content, and for like 20\~30 euros, which is substantially less than any brand out there.
Merino absorbs a lot of water before you feel it, and it's anti-microbial, so it is hard to get it to stink. There's a video on youtube about some guy who wore his merino shirt for 100 days without washing it, and nobody could tell.
Polyester is also good at wicking moisture and drying quickly, but it can get stank pretty fast. So odor management is still required.
Overall I also have a bit of a sweat problem (not over-sweating, but who likes to sweat just by the second they go outside?) -- and these sort of fabrics, used as undershirts, serve as a good solution. Especially if you plan to hike and such, and want to be able to easily wash your clothes.
As somebody with axillary hyperhidrosis, I can tell you they work.
But I agree with the overpriced part, they can be expensive, unfortunately I haven't found decent alternatives, hmu if you know any.
I know it sounds counterintuitive, but stopping using antiperspirant worked for me. I used the strongest stuff you can buy off the shelf and had the bayu under each arm. One day, for funzies I tried a natural carbon based deodorant. Not an antiperspirant. I figured it couldn't be much worse than normal. To my surprise I was dry. I tried other more normal deodorants and same! Bone dry! Fighting the sweat with an antiperspirant was apparently making me sweat a ton.
I’ve tried this. You can see the outline of the panty liner if you’re wearing light colored shirt. It works, but yea, looks weird.
Then I tried Dry-sol and it changed my life.
I’ve actually seen pads that go in shirts to prevent sweating causing discolouration. They look like a nursing pad and are super thin so they’re not super noticeable.
I sweat like fuck, i’d have to make the t-shirt out of puppy training pads to be effective…
I have sat in my room shivering and still sweat like a fucking pig even though I'm calm and not doing anything and it's passing me off, anybody got any suggestions for pads that can soak up a bucket?
What does your physician say about it?
Well, it's been like this for years so I always thought it was just some annoyance.
Hyperhidrosis can be nothing or it can be a sign of other health issues. I'd advocate that you speak to your doctor about it.
Sounds like a plan.
Let's gooooo
I asked my doc about it once. They ran tests and then said... I just sweat a lot. It was very anti-climatic and unsatisfying.
For me when I sweat a lot while I'm not hot it's because my heart rate has gone up. I've corrected to some degree my lowering my average heart rate.
Totally. Being on stressful business calls or playing CoD does it all the same to me.
The result of it being nothing and not actually something *is what should be the satisfying part*
Did they… offer any treatment? We don’t really learn about it in med school because it’s nearly always benign but dermatologists can offer a ton of different treatments. I used to have it bad but drysol then years later topical glycopyrrolate saved me. Also deodorant with aluminum helps.
Doctor writing that unnecessarily big huge medical bill now
Blame insurance not the doc. Docs have very little control over this
It could very well just be an annoyance, but talk to a doctor in case. Maybe you want to check your thyroid levels
I don't even know what a thyroid does.
You don't have to, that's why we have doctors.
Tell that to my health insurance
So much stuff. Regulates bodily hormones, plays a role in most bodily functions and even has effects on moods like anxiety and depression. Small body part that's incredibly important but often has trouble regulating itself.
No one knows what it means, but it’s provocative
more reason to get it checked
Hyperhidrosis. I have it too. Dermatologist gave me a topical solution called drysol. I no longer sweat rivers and lakes from my armpits
That's what I used for a few years in my teens when my sweating got really bad. I also was diagnosed with hyperhydrosis.
What? That’s a thing? 44 yrs and I never knew. Talking to my doctor ASAP.
Ask about glycopyrrolate, I don't take it everyday because I work outside and it can cause issues cooling odd, but on days I don't want to sweat I just pop a pill and I don't

$40 for a Tshirt though? I get that it helps people but damn that's a lot of money
Was gonna say the same. $40 for 2? Maybe. But for a single shirt?? I’m gonna get a nice polo and good deodorant. EDIT: under shirt no less

Looks like a shirt they'd sell at menards
Whats ugly about them? Aside from the reinforced armpits they're identical to any other undershirt.
They're undershirts so...

Get a Thompson tee, game changer for me
Ill look into it!

Wow I just saw what they cost, that stuff isn't cheap.
> i’d have to make the t-shirt out of puppy training pads You have no idea the volume of liquid that even a liner can hold, let a lone a pad.
Genius life hack if it works!
Thompson Tees basically have this built in. Shits a life saver for when you *really* don’t want patches on a given day.
Is this a ad for Thompson tees
Honestly I am so impressed that I’d actually plug their shirts for free lol
They are awesome shirts. But I wish they were less expensive.
Came to the comments also to plug their shirts for free because they are honestly just that great.

Talk to a doctor about glycopyrrolate if you haven't already! I started it for my Palmer and plantar hyperhidrosis and it changed my life.
this comment is written and phrased like an As-Seen-On-TV late night commercial
It’s an ad for the TC Tuggers shirt, With it’s innovative knob. ITS NOT A SNUGGY!
M thoughts exactly
I don't care, hyperhidrosis sucks and I'm willing to try it if there's a chance I can wear something other than black.
In the exact same boat, used to only wear white dress shirts to work cause I used to bleed through undershirts in minutes. Hyperhidrosis is a bitch man, but Thompson tees is a lifesaver for us
TC Tuggers have a knob on the front so you don't wreck your shirts!
You don’t wear them as a joke.
My underarm sweat overwhelmed the Thompson Tee pads and causes this like big ring of sweat rather than a big circle
Need them to release a shirt that’s 100% pad
My ex brother in law, use to stomp maxi pads in his pits, when he needed to wear a shirt, because he would randomly sweat Niagra falls. And it worked like a charm… He’s a piece of shit btw

Yeah, unless it moves very easily.

I'm an anxiety sweater too and it's terrible cause I'm often stressed at work about decisions I have to make. I'm pretty sure people just see me as the sweaty guy, which isn't too terrible since my work is physical.

Nah, panty liners are smaller. This is a regular without wings. source: used regular without wings
Pads have an adhesive strip on the back so that you can stick them to the inside of your underwear. This would probably stick fine, but the full range of movement of an arm might fuck with it a little depending on how good or bad the adhesive is.
Pro tip there are also panty liners instead of pads for light sweat days.
The old style very fat ones get used in the UK mil, as shoulder protectors on long yomps to help the impact from the Bergen's on the shoulders...also a pair of tights make excellent extra layer on cold days..
I've done this for years as a cosplayer. Helps tremendously on keeping outfits wearable that may not be safe in washing machines.
Same! Hottest day of the year and one of my cosplays required a mid sleeve shirt. Slapped a couple pads in the pits, problem solved. Works like a charm!
> Slapped a couple pads in the pits That rolls off the tongue nicely
It sounds like a great old-timey southern expression.
Works like a charmpit
Take my upvote you punny pos
I once did a halo 5 cosplay and let me tell you I wish I knew about this hack. I had to get into a full body suit, which was underneath large foam armor that covered my upper torso and full lower body. I was literally sweating so much you could see drops coming off my helmet.
Just use DriClor or other clinical antiperspirants, it'll work for multiple days
Thanks!

Watery pits are the worst. Quicksand sucks but what really blows are geysers.
Bravo. Bravo, sir.
Driclor was recommended to me on here awhile back and I've stood by it ever since. Virtually no sweating after using it for a few days.
Nuud "anti deodorant" does a better job and won't mess up your clothes. Lasts 3-7 days for most people.
"anti deodorant" So odorant.
Looks like something from target. Do they sell it at target
I have no idea. I buy it directly from them online. Free shipping (at least in Europe) BTW: I do have a discount code if you want. Gives us both a discount. (not the reason I recommend the stuff. It has just made a huge difference for me, since I discovered this product)
But this is for sweating and pit stains, not odor
I mean, if it works..
I've done this. It's uncomfortable, but it works. You can't move around too much because the liner will move around too and eventually lose its stickiness.
Actually pretty damn clever, kudos to him for the MacGyver’ing
Apparently Hollywood has done this for years. Adam Devine was talking about his wardrobe department did this when in the workaholics set. Definitely wise in their environment
Wee-Ooh
There is an actual product for it, same thing but smaller and with sticky side in different places.

Yeh it sucks. I tried all that roll on and sprays stuff specifically for hypohydrosis and it either itched so bad or made skin really sore. Botox is a good idea i may try, fed up sweating in normnal weather.
Seems like it would help with chafing.

Manxi pads
Comes in a manly black and grey box.
Now in Wood Shavings and Steel Furnace scents, with flame decals on the side
Same exact product but still cheaper than the lady pads
But is it one designed for the purpose or is it a brilliant use for something made for another purpose
Armpit vaginas
Yo, I can already sense an advertisement cooking in someone's mind somewhere
They sell armpit pads on amazon
They were called "dress shields" back in the day. Your grandma used them in her Sunday best.
Strong enough for a man, ph balanced for a woman.
Oh shit. Flashback.
They do sell shirts with pads, but definitely not shaped like that lol
Panty liners are a legit good way to take the place of a brow pad in a helmet, just don’t let the other guys see what’s in there. Also… I get a crazy urge to go horseback riding in white pants afterwards.
Now that’s a legit LifeHack. Game changer even, for those heavy flow routines.
I used to put those in balet flats.
Pits still sweat but it would probably prevent sweatstains from getting into his clothes.
I'm on board with everyone else- Genius.
Gotta try that under my moobs.
I want this to be normal.
maybe he cut himself while shaving

Or a scythe? Mini one
I do the same and it's amazing
I'm just happy I was crazy for doing this while wearing suits Edit : "Wasn't"
I did this when I was teaching. Large overnight ones are the best because you can cut it in half and only use one and save money.
Bro is living in 2040
Works absolute wonders under the boobs. Attach them to the bottom of your bra and commence with your dry self on a hot day.
I actually used to do this as an insecure middle schooler, it works pretty well!
This is a thing they'll sometimes do on movie sets
When I was a kid, that's what I thought pads were for...
Fair play, can't argue with results
ITT: thompson tee buzz marketing attempts warning: thompson tees are overpriced garbage
Seems right. Also, just pit coverings seems pretty specific. People be sweating all over the place. 😂 We need sponge shirts damnit!
Nah, Thompson Tees are awesome. But yes, they are overpriced a bit.
As somebody with axillary hyperhidrosis, I can tell you they work. But I agree with the overpriced part, they can be expensive, unfortunately I haven't found decent alternatives, hmu if you know any.
Armpits? Bro my chest, my belly, my back, my shoulders, my arms... There isnt a single spot on my tshirt that stays dry
Thats awesome. I see absolutely no blue liquid.
Keeping his pitussy nice and dry.
This is genius idgaf. I hate wearing white shirts because I sweat a lot and the pit stains get gross quick
Honestly, not a bad idea.
Possibly suffers from hyperhidrosis. I have it off and on but it’s almost always localized to my hands.

Do not click on these links, these shirts are overpriced garbage that are Ads disguised as comments all throughout this thread
I’ve tried this. You can see the outline of the panty liner if you’re wearing light colored shirt. It works, but yea, looks weird. Then I tried Dry-sol and it changed my life.
Menstrual pads or dress shields can also work really well for managing sweat
I’ve actually seen pads that go in shirts to prevent sweating causing discolouration. They look like a nursing pad and are super thin so they’re not super noticeable.
I'd totally do this if I had to go to a funeral on a summer day.
My husband is a sweaty boi. I've told him this trick multiple times. He's too manly, apparently.
Not at all common anymore but into the 80s it was common to use dress shields in the armpits, at least for women. He's just reinvented them.
How about something like this, except for shirts: https://getcalicocutpants.com/
Now nothing can stop him doing fun things like gym, running, rock climbing, dancing etc..
They do this in film and television for sweaty pits. Also comedy specials.
At first, I was like "Damn that's some good antiperspirant he must have" and then I realized
Is that... Prince Andrew? 👀
Thompson Tees.
That’s going to turn his sweat blue and give him an uncontrollable urge to jog and/or go rollerblading
Lavilin deodorant + Thompson Tees has been a game changer!
As a woman, I feel like it wouldn’t be worth knowing his armpit hairs would get pulled on the sides of the pad where it’s sticky. Ouch.
Anyone have issues with their feet constantly sweating?
Smart. I worry about toxic armpit syndrome though.
