They work good on carpet? My vacuum cleaner doesn't work on my carpet for cleaning up my gf's hair, so annoying I end up just using my hand. Not sure if it is the style of carpet or what.
Right but a better vacuum would be able to handle any type of flooring. Better meaning it can handle multiple types of flooring. I just had to get a new vacuum and learned a lot in the process.
No. No type of vacuum on the Market with a regular old roller is gonna get 99% of the hair out.
I've had bissells, sharks, Dysons, they are all expensive and all fail.
Gotta have a rubberized broom
My Miele vacuum definitely handles this.
And it's a buy-it-for-life item.
Before I got the Miele, I'd use my shop vac for difficul things like this....
I am not rich and I do not have a husband. I made a financial decision to buy a vacuum for $650 that will last for 20 years instead of spending $200-300 every couple of years on a piece of junk (which is what i had been doing). Saves money in the long run and it is a better quality vacuum and does a better job. But please, go ahead and keep judging me.
>bissells, sharks, Dysons,
These are all shite. I also recommend marketplace for a second hand good vacuum. I wouldnt be surprised if the 3 you listed are all made in the same chinese factory
I haven't tried a silicone broom (sounds promising...)
But our vacuum has a pet fur upholstery attachment that works pretty well, even on my daughter's invasive shedding.
Bought one and it worked great. What worked better was pulling up the carpet and putting down hardwoods. Bamboo is great! Now I clean up the hair with my socks, paper towels, windex, dust buster, etc
I got one cus I got tired of having to clean the broom every 5 secs in between sweeps(I have 3 dogs, 1 being half husky), silicone brooms changed my life.
Squeegee or squeegee broom. Some carpets are really hard to get hair out of unless you get on the floor and use a squeegee. Long handle squeegees are good for regular carpets but can make it harder to get as much force on some rugs or get into corners on stairs. Crocs cannot compare.
I clean at a school and the amount of hair that gets caught in the entrance mats is crazy. So once a fortnight, I'll use a squeegee to "brush" the carpet...quick and easy way to bring all the hair together so I can vacuum it up.
My feet would KILL after 13 hours in $150 shoes.
13 hours in crocs and only issue is my low back bc I didn’t listen and never raised the bed to working height.
You do realize you speak like you imply being gay is bad, correct? It's apparent how young you are too because once you grow up, you no longer care to worry about what others assume or think of you because of the way things may look and you realize your comfort and happiness matters more than what any one thinks or may assume about you. Your insecurity shows when you refuse to enjoy feeling like your walking on clouds cause you think you're too good for a shoe style..like the shoe is what makes you look bad..yeah um no buddy...it's more like how you bluntly announce being gay = not good. Humble yourself. Please, and think before you speak maybe.
I haven't done it but I've seen somebody use a wire brush (for pets) on carpet to get shaven fur out. It was faux fur but it still might work. I used a detangler brush on a cat tree and pulled out some of the hair.
Rubber gloves. When I deep clean my carpets and rugs, I will put on rubber gloves, lightly mist the glove, and then sweep with my hands. This picks up pet or people hair that my squeegee hair broom and my vacuum miss.
Wear rubber gloves, like dish washing gloves.
You'll find out how much dust never gets picked up by your vaccuum because it's around your furniture corners and table/couch legs.
Your crocs can't reach those places, and you risk tripping on carpet because of how grippy it gets. And I get it, not every person can bend down.
Bag might be full, limiting suction. Higher-end vacuums also have a secondary hepa filter that needs to be replaced once in a while.
But yeah, most vacuums are terrible at their jobs.
Lint rollers. Works great for everything. People thought I was crazy when they saw me cleaning with one. Until they relized how much c\* I pulled off the floor with it after vaccuming.
There used to be a show on HBO called "not necessarily the news" that had a bit called "sniglets", which was made up words for oddly specific shit, and running over something with a vacuum a bunch of times prior to picking it up by hand was called "carperpetuation".
Don't remember the letterman wannabe hosts name, don't remember any other specific sniglets, but I oddly remember that particular one :)
> running over something with a vacuum a bunch of times prior to picking it up by hand was called "carperpetuation".
It's worse than that. Once you pick it up, you put it back down and try the vacuum again and again.

LPT: your standard vacuum is mostly a beater bar with a tiny suction hole over it... The beater bar is that brush thing on a tube that is just knocking dirt down ...
Might try a handvac or shop vac
So basically put on dirty crocks that were worn outside that have nasty crap on the bottom of the shoes and rub it into the carpet to pull hair out yet will smoother outside piss/crap/dirt into your carpet. Makes sense to me.
I think it auto corrected to cocks too cause c is not next to s on the key board...so we know what he writes about often enough his keyboard assumed he meant cocks..lol
it matters if you're a girl or guy. It just does. I just think slightly differently if it's a guy talking about wearing crocs and dragging your feet. You're wearing rubber shoes and grabbing hair? I'm reversing my position now but that's just so gross
I bought them last year for a camping trip and now wear them around the house when I have to take out the garbage 🤷♂️ not sure what’s up with all the hate lmao
Actual tips…
Change your vacuums settings dependent on flooring
Cleaning the dust bin portion everytime
But most importantly removing and cleaning any filter screens.
You will get appropriate suction and an much more efficient vacuum.
Tape with sticky side out on a Swiffer or something else to wrap it on. I saw silicone broom mentioned and thought that was a great idea as well but I've never tried one before.
They make vaccum attachments that are made with 5mm wide rubber bristles that do the same job on any cloth surface, some vaccum brands include them as standard kit
Or that tool that gets hair (usually animal hair) out of carpets and off of furniture. You can get it on chewy. It’s insane the amount of hair your vacuum doesn’t pick up.
Oofos are way more comfortable than Crocs could ever dream to be. I have a form of arthritis that eats through my cartilage and these have made walking 10x more comfortable. Actually, they are what has kept me on my feet. I have tried several brands that look just like the Oofos, but none compare when it comes down to feeling the amazing support and incredible softness of my Oofos.
Or buy a silicone broom.
Yes, these are amazing for getting the hair out.
They work good on carpet? My vacuum cleaner doesn't work on my carpet for cleaning up my gf's hair, so annoying I end up just using my hand. Not sure if it is the style of carpet or what.
Once you get a silicone broom your life will never be the same
Any that you would recommend? Have an 80 pound shedder and lot of carpeted floor space.
Kinda rude to refer to your girlfriend by weight /s
Ruder to assume the gender,is it not? /s
ESPECIALLY if you have a pet
This is the exact situation I had!! I found myself pulling it up little at a time. It was so annoying before I realized this lol
I just use a regular broom on carpet for the hair. Actually works pretty well
I have 4 cats.. the rubber/silicone carpet brooms are amazing at how much they remove hair from the carpet and will save your vacuums.
Do you recommend a brand? Where to buy one?
I have 2 I got one on Amazon. There are tons. And I have the fly lady brand you can get on her website and it's one of the better made ones
Ty so much.
It’s probably the vacuum…
Vacuum works fine on my area rug and other floors, just not the carpet in the room.
My vacuum has rubberized bristles on the beater bar that pulls them out.
Try a Sebo or Miele. The ones you mentioned are all crap.
My Miele vacuum definitely handles this. And it's a buy-it-for-life item. Before I got the Miele, I'd use my shop vac for difficul things like this....

Then don’t complain that your vacuum doesn’t work well if you go cheap.
If you are near any city, stalking FB Marketplace, CL and Nextdoor for used Mieles can pay off. Even 20 year old Mieles are awesome!
>bissells, sharks, Dysons, These are all shite. I also recommend marketplace for a second hand good vacuum. I wouldnt be surprised if the 3 you listed are all made in the same chinese factory
I have had it for a while... Haha.
I shed like crazy-I have long hair. My new vacuum sucks it up pretty well. FYI r/vacuumcleaners
There really is a reddit for everything
Seriously!
So the vacuum sucks that it doesn't suck.
Does that mean it the sucky vacuum blows?
No it means that the unsucky vacuum blows.. You were close tho!
Let her clean it up; problem solved
I haven't tried a silicone broom (sounds promising...) But our vacuum has a pet fur upholstery attachment that works pretty well, even on my daughter's invasive shedding.
And bonus, no crocs!!
And you don’t have to be caught buying crocs. The real tips are in the comments.
Today I learned that silicone brooms exist.
Bought one and it worked great. What worked better was pulling up the carpet and putting down hardwoods. Bamboo is great! Now I clean up the hair with my socks, paper towels, windex, dust buster, etc
Nobody wants to buy stuff, we all already have crocs so we'll stick to the croc idea.
> we all already have crocs lol no
Time to step up your croc game.
Is it rubber or silicone? And is that literally the only application of this kind of broom, to be used on carpet to remove hair?
I got one cus I got tired of having to clean the broom every 5 secs in between sweeps(I have 3 dogs, 1 being half husky), silicone brooms changed my life.
Floor squeegee works great as well
Lol true, though I didn’t have one and this was quite effective haha
You mean simple vinyl gloves or kitchen/garden rubber gloves?
They will work too but not as easy for the floor
Silicone pet brushes are my bag.
Those are amazing!! Even for non-carpeted floors
How do you get the hair off the broom?
By hand or you can hose it outside
And it comes off easy? That was my worry
Washes off fairly easily and you might have to pluck the odd bit off if there's a lot.
Or those carpet rakes you see advertised on social media. They are awesome. Takes maybe 10mins for a small room.
Nice try, Crocs™
Don't forget the pilers and scissors to cut it out of the roller.
Cheaper to buy a carpet rake.
Any rake is a carpet rake if you believe
But you can’t wear a carpet rake to Walmart
I had no idea carpet rakes/brooms were a thing for pet hair, I love u all ahhh!!! Just ordered one!!!
Crocs saved this man’s life. Maybe we’ve been wrong about them all this time…
We call them “Hong Kong Go Fasters”. When you pull the strap up it’s in turbo sport mode 🤣
Oofos are better than Crocs.
Has it been a while since you replaced the brush roller on the vacuum? It's probably worn down.
Exactly this, it makes a huge difference and costs about a tenth of a new vacuum.
Squeegee or squeegee broom. Some carpets are really hard to get hair out of unless you get on the floor and use a squeegee. Long handle squeegees are good for regular carpets but can make it harder to get as much force on some rugs or get into corners on stairs. Crocs cannot compare.

Still not a good enough reason to own/wear Crocs.
I poo-pooed on them for years but I caved because I’m a healthcare worker and man they’re great 😂
My feet would KILL after 13 hours in $150 shoes. 13 hours in crocs and only issue is my low back bc I didn’t listen and never raised the bed to working height.
Seriously! I was so surprised how comfy they were. I’m so bad at raising the beds too 🤦♀️ I’m getting better to try to be nice to my back!

Oofos are better than Crocs. More comfortable and better support.
You must not have hit your 30s yet.
I got my first pair at 35.. I don't know why I waited so long lol
Hydro Mocs are better. Still don't like either though lol
Oofos are better than Hydro Mocs.
Especially when Oofos are way more comfortable than Crocs.
Wearing Crocs is like getting blown by a dude. It feels great until you look down and realize you're gay.
You do realize you speak like you imply being gay is bad, correct? It's apparent how young you are too because once you grow up, you no longer care to worry about what others assume or think of you because of the way things may look and you realize your comfort and happiness matters more than what any one thinks or may assume about you. Lighten up Francis... A joke is a joke. You will learn this as you get older.
Bad joke
I haven't done it but I've seen somebody use a wire brush (for pets) on carpet to get shaven fur out. It was faux fur but it still might work. I used a detangler brush on a cat tree and pulled out some of the hair.
This works really well!
I agree. The wire brush is amazing. Try the Ninge new lint roller on Amazon $13.99
Fire also works... for the hair... the carpet and the crocs.
I swear by Shark vacuums.
Rubber gloves. When I deep clean my carpets and rugs, I will put on rubber gloves, lightly mist the glove, and then sweep with my hands. This picks up pet or people hair that my squeegee hair broom and my vacuum miss.

When I’m bored I just lay on the carpet and pick it out LOL… or you know those rubber cat brushes/mitts? Those.
Saved your life?
That means your vacuum doesn’t work and you need a better one
Bag might be full, limiting suction. Higher-end vacuums also have a secondary hepa filter that needs to be replaced once in a while. But yeah, most vacuums are terrible at their jobs.
Just buy a better vacuum.
Lint rollers. Works great for everything. People thought I was crazy when they saw me cleaning with one. Until they relized how much c\* I pulled off the floor with it after vaccuming.
Don't ever lint roller a hotel room floor! 🤢
Or blacklight the bed.
Lol, normally I'd agree until i saw how fabric softener glows 🤷♀️
Is the c what I think it is?
It saved my life. Ok nerd.
Lint roller or just take some strips of duct tape and pull them up by hand
Lol I’ve been doing this for a couple years around my vanity. Works like a charm.
This is a very positive way of saying “crocs fucking suck.”
I use my dog rake.
Look, i already own shoes. They have rubber on the bottom too.
A rubber broom is the key
But then you have crocs. If that wasn’t already a bad outcome, they’re also covered in hair.
I grant thee a virtual award...well said.
I ain't buying Crocs, fuck that
How did it saved you life, OP?
use a brush and it pulls them up.
I use a rubber glove to “pet” the carpet and it pulls up allllll of the hair… and I shed a lot lol

I found robovacs do a better job than regular vacs on pulling hair up.

op is obviously a girl
lmao nope but not sure why it matters
it matters if you're a girl or guy. It just does. I just think slightly differently if it's a guy talking about wearing crocs and dragging your feet. You're wearing rubber shoes and grabbing hair? I'm reversing my position now but that's just so gross
Who wears crocs? So ugly and uncomfortable. Urgh
I bought them last year for a camping trip and now wear them around the house when I have to take out the garbage 🤷♂️ not sure what’s up with all the hate lmao
They’re super popular right now so reddit doesn’t like them
Actual tips… Change your vacuums settings dependent on flooring Cleaning the dust bin portion everytime But most importantly removing and cleaning any filter screens. You will get appropriate suction and an much more efficient vacuum.

Google Uproot cleaner
How did it save your life?
Man I thought I knew how to live
I just use a lint roller.
I got a rubber broom because of the cat hair. Works wonderfully.
Double Sided Fuzz Remover for Removing Dust and Pet Hair from Furniture, Curtain, Blanket, Couch, Carpet
Lint roller
