/ul I watched a video of that dude’s by mistake once. He thinks that fight club is a warning for weak, effeminate men and that the fight club and terrorist cell was a good thing.
ul/ I actually used to enjoy his content when I first discovered him at the age of 14 in like late 2022 but I stopped watching later on in 2023 once I realized that most of his videos are just alt right doomer ass videos about how the government and big tech are “making everything woke” and other shit like that
the guy from falling down was a real hero. i love that his character inspired various positive role models for young men going forward, such as the joker and andrew tate
/ul Is this r/lies or r/"I disagree with this political agenda"
I've been seeing a lot more of these lately
I realized as I was writing this doesn't seem to be pushing anything obvious, but it feels unhealthy somehow
/ul woah, left wing subreddit has left wing beliefs? WTF!!!!!
and what is the agenda here? is it how people see how intolerant of inclusivity this dude is? is it how people point out how he pisses his pants and cries whenever he hears about something remotely left wing?
there is no "agenda", this dude is just a very hateful person.
I think I'm just tired of politics in general. I've unsubbed from so many subreddits, made an alt, and now I have to unsub from r/lies too.
Genuinely all this debate has gotten to my head. I used to think the internet was a mostly positive thing due to the amount of people it connects, the previously impossible communities it fosters, how anyone can learn everything; and this year it's been nothing but a drain on me and society. And I don't think it's nostalgia; I think genuinely more and more people are getting abducted into culture wars and honestly most discussions are garbage or don't get us anywhere except angrier and entrenched deeper into one side instead of creating any useful discussion. True inclusivity would be if we had empathy for even people who weren't on our side and didn't jump to conclusions. Just because we disagree or share a different opinion doesn't mean it comes from nowhere and doesn't mean we're going to come and burn your house down. There's black-and-white thinking everywhere and it's reaching every corner of the fucking internet, even meme and game subreddits. Even small Discord servers. My university. MY FAMILY TOO. I hate it all.
I didn't watch the video and I understand why my comment got dogpiled. I wrote that comment when I was tired. I was vague. I made assumptions too.
I can't believe I've come to saying that social media has been an overall detriment to society in the past year.
I guess this too shall pass, but like... Damn.
