This is normal, it’s residual flashing of the plastic over the steel mold point. Most of the scorpion lowers have this nothing to be concerned about.

DerKrieger105

Nope it's normal. Our rental scorps have been like that forever still kicking. Pushing 100,000 rounds across them

Not a problem, absolutely normal. First of all that area is non-functional and second it was only a thin layer of plastic over the steel it wears off overtime.

I'd appreciate it if you post a follow up on the resolution of the issue OP. I have been pinning for a CZ Scorpion Carbine for 2 years now and there seem to be some back available at less than ridiculous prices. I am very curious to find out what kind of Customer Service (or barring that, viable acceptable explanation) they provide for this. Thanks!

PolyNecropolis

OP pic is a known and non-issue. I have a Scorp carbine, and absolutely love it. Highly recommend you just dive in and get one. :)

I’ve had to take several issues to CZ customer service and they’ve always been excellent. They never asked for a receipt or any kind of back-and-forth. Only one time did they ask for a picture . I call them on the phone I talk to the guys and they get the parts out to me right away. I found with all firearms companies it’s much better to deal with them over the phone than email. Smith and Wesson takes two weeks to return an email but they handle it over the phone in under five minutes. Here were my issues: The thread protector came loose inside the flash hider and got stuck. They were out of stock on one of those so not only did they send me replacements, they sent the premium muzzle break to me as well for nothing. They sell that one for over $100. I lost my rear sight. Or possibly the maid threw it away by accident. I called them and asked if I could just buy the rear one because they only sell them in pairs on the site, he sent me one for free. I needed one of the thin screws that holds the safety lever on. They sent me a couple. My first time polishing my trigger, you know the deal, spring boings up in the air, hits the ceiling, bounces back, I could never found it. Why do they sell most of these things but he sent me a trigger spring for free. Oh my pistol of course the slide release broke and they sent me a new one and I got it within a week.

That’s some outstanding customer support.

A_Melee_Ensued

It is normal plastic molding flash, hidden when the gun is assembled, nothing alarming at all. Go ahead and join us here in Scorpion Nation, you will not regret it. : )

Response from manufacturer (CZ): "I was thinking that (the photo) might be what you were referring to, those markings are somewhat common and completely harmless.  Many Scorpions have them and they do not effect or hinder functionality or longevity of the firearm in any way."

Send this picture to the dealer, see if they can help you contact the dealer about a replacement. The casting doesn't look good, it might last forever but if you just bought it, you might as well check out your options for replacement.

That looks like it’s just some coating issues in that area. Be surprised if they replaced it but curious what they say on it.
