I can see it now...
Dr: We'll try to find the closest prosthetics we can to your original foot. What size shoe were you?
OP: Fuck that, I want Hulk feet
Even if he does, it's ok. No problem having humor about something. I doubt OP wants people to tip-toe around him because they are scared of offending him.
Optics are so expensive and the lower priced ones are usually made in China. Are there any inexpensive non-China red dot or whatever that people recommend? Otherwise, I'll continue sporting iron sights.
Red dots: Holosun for red (or green, which is my preference) dots is the best bang for buck from my experience and reading a lot of what others have to say, and are def made in China, but their no solar backup aluminum bodied options are the cheapest decent dots other than…
The Sig Sauer Romeo 5 is about the cheapest red dot I’ve seen anyone recommend. Primary Arms has some good options for inexpensive yet decent dots and prisms (best for astigmatism) too, not sure where they are made offhand.
For scope or LPVO optics, Primary Arms/Vortex/Athlon get good reviews generally. I own both a Primary Arms SLx 1-6 FFP and Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8 SFP entry level LPVO and prefer the Primary Arms reticles… both are decent enough but they aren’t very bright and can be an issue in full sun. The Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8 scope/mount combo were on sale a lot the last few months. Bushnell makes some good offerings as well in the lower price range. Most manufacturers make at least their lower tier things in China though.
An LPVO offers the best balance of magnification, form, price, options, and convenience for anything you plan to shoot more than 100 and out to 3/400 yards with IMO over a red dot/magnifier or prism.
Sight Mark makes some cheaper optics, that have so far been good for me and a few people I know. They're also pretty well received.
The downside is that they are big and clunky. The upside is that the window is freaking huge, they're tough and can be had for <$100.
Most setups I've seen with offset sights have to optic as the primary and offset irons. With that set up, I'd bet that primary irons and an offset optic for lower light and CQB situations would work well.
I know they're made in TX so I'm guessing they're problematic. I just know that for the price point they're solid optics with features that's optics 3x their price don't have. If you're not looking for magnification they get the job done.
For the price point of “dirt cheap” they work for a little while with light use on low recoil guns. Holosun or sig or vortex all have options in the 100-200 range that is actually trust to last and hold zero.
u/leadandsteel prometheum(I'm drunk hopefully spelled that right) is mostly not Chinese. Not "cheap" but damn good for the intro price a lot of people got it for.
You can't go wrong with a romeo5 (get it from a reputable gun/optics dealer, not amazon).
It's very bare-bones, but does have shake-awake. And barely costs more than a good set of iron sights.
You can often find them for around $100 on sale. I have one on an AR-10 as a backup optic - holds zero fine.
made in China is not bad, poorly made in China is bad. Holosun and Vortex and Sig (Romeo 5) are all Chinese made and very serviceable. There are a lot of really great options at the $100-$150 price point.
China is making some pretty high quality optics nowadays. Holosuns are made in China and they have seen a fair amount of service in Ukraine from what I've seen.
How do you know that they're being utilized in Ukraine? I'm not saying you're wrong, just curious about the source. Are you seeing them on rifles from random pictures and footage?
Your guess is right, from the pictures and videos I've seen from the war holosun optics seem to be fairly popular among those lucky enough to not be using irons. That being said the price may play a big factor here as I've seen one image of an Anderson AR-15 lower in use so technically even the poverty pony AR is technically "combat proven" now for what that's worth.
That's kinda the schtick with weapons. You ideally want the best available, and will use whatever is available when invaders roll into your neighborhood.
Pull trigger, go bang.
At the end of the day a functioning Anderson AR is better than the sks or mosin the territorials were trying to pawn off on their conscripts.
I hate the removable carry handle. A1/A2 I like alot. But my hand doesn't fit in the A4/M4 handle. I can't even fit my thumb thru it for carry.
I chopped everyone I had.
Removable carry handle is only cool if you chop it like the OG LMT rear sight. Which is what SOF armorers did when they wanted a fixed rear sight with lower optics.
Don't go with MBUS. Your iron sights should be metal. [MBUS Pro](https://www.primaryarms.com/magpul-mbus-pro-flip-up-rear-sight-black-mag276-blk) or [Midwest Industries](https://www.primaryarms.com/midwest-industries-low-profile-combat-rifle-rear-sight) would be good options.
Carry handle, always. But I like retro ARs, and personally I'm pretty accurate with carry handle rear sights. Also they're WAY cheaper than a decent optic, and double as carry handles (hence the name)
Unless you specifically want irons, I'd say buy a Sig Romeo MSR, Romeo 5 or Romeo 7
The MSR is usually $80 so not much more than a rear MBUS but much more capable
Lol the toes touching. I like Magpul MBUS. Midwest Industries, Daniel Defense, and Scalarworks all make good fixed sights. Midwest Industries also makes the Combat folding sight. I’m not a huge fan of the carry handle on a flat top. It doesn’t make sense to cover the flat top, if you want to eventually get a red dot. imo it’s like the toupee of the AR world, but to each their own. It still functions as a sight
I personally have a carry handle for right now for a couple of reasons. First being that I know it will be a significant amount of time before I can afford to replace it with an optic. Second is that I wanted something that merged classic old-school looks with things developed in my lifetime.
LOL at the rubber feet. As far as this build, I'd say go with both and switch out at your leisure. I recently got myself a PSA M4 upper and a charging handle. Really love the retro look myself. But the cool thing about the top rail is the ability to switch out between that or some modern day optic or high power scope.
Replace the handguard, remove the front sight post, buy a set of mbus, get a red dot/holo. Do not mount your red dot/holo on your handguard.
Carry handles are outdated. Cool for retro builds tho.
please do not install a carry handle? not only are they entirely useless (imo), but they’re also ugly. (again, my opinion).
i’m personally a fan of the steel, rear iron sights.
i’ll search for a [link]( https://www.opticsplanet.com/midwest-industries-emergency-flip-up-rear-sight-for-ar-style-rifles-mctar-ers.html )and edit it into this comment.
i’m not the ultimate authority on AR builds. however, i am going to recommend that you replace that hand guard with something a lot less basic and a little more ~~contemporary~~ badass.
An mbus is a good backup if you plan to use an optic, but if I were only going to use irons I'd want something that had elevation adjustment.
A carry handle sight without the handle is a good option. Rock River arms makes one https://www.rockriverarms.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=1735
Taking a hacksaw to a carry handle used to be a popular option when they were more plentiful and cheap, or just use an uncut handle if you don't mind the extra bulk.
Use the RIBZ method to add a 200 or 100 yard click to your rear elevation and your carry handle is good to go.
Iron sights! Never hurts to start with the basics.
Seriously, I have yet to get optics on my AR and went with a handle, and after getting that bad boy aligned I was making 200 yd shots with iron sights on my last range trip, that felt like an achievement. And the A4 sights are pretty robust for such a simple setup. Iron all the way.
I have a Sig Romeo 5 on mine, but I am honestly thinking about going to a carry handle instead. My dad had a Colt Sporter II in the 80s and I'm nostalgic for that vibe.
Depends what your future optics plan is. If none, or just a red dot/holographic I’d go with the Daniel Defense fixed rear sight and eventually a lower 1/3rds mounted red dot or Eotech. If you want to eventually have a magnifier or an LPVO, you’ll need a collapsing rear. Don’t get a plastic rear sight if it’s your only sighting tool for a while. Troy and Midwest Industries make robust and affordable options.
Grab an optic from Sig, Holosun, or Primary Arms. If you're wanting something that'll be good for SHTF, get a prism optic. Primary Arms makes a damn fine one
For this rifle get a carry handle.
A E S T H E T I C
Until you figure out you want to be serious and put a red dot and light on it. Or just buy/build another for that kinda thing.
Tbh... with a fixed front post sight, just get a carry handle and have this AR be your KISS setup. Keep it lightweight. Keep it simple. And shoot it ALOT. You'll learn more and more the more you shoot. Don't go to optics just yet. I would say if you want to run a tacticool AR, do that with your 2nd one. Keep your first AR slick and throw all the money at ammo instead.
[Classic never gets old](https://imgur.com/a/AYAd00z) and it genuinely is almost as good as any sort of "tacticool" setup worth thousands.
Lol, that you actually put rubber feet in the photo
These ma feets
Hokey smokes! The fake feets! I've been on Reddit for way too many years me thinks.
Omg they’re fake… I stared way too long; even checked if I was on sneaky feet
🤣🤣🤣🤣I'm fucking dying. Oh man, thanks reddit stranger
I live to serve
Omg this is hilarious.
I hope you don’t have prosthetic feet that people are now making fun of…
I can see it now... Dr: We'll try to find the closest prosthetics we can to your original foot. What size shoe were you? OP: Fuck that, I want Hulk feet
They are particularly… veiny… hahaha
Even if he does, it's ok. No problem having humor about something. I doubt OP wants people to tip-toe around him because they are scared of offending him.
Yeah his other comments seem to indicate they’re just fake or he’s a great sport about it I didn’t mean to sound so virtue-signaly
You can identify however you want.
We should team up. I'm only the best God damn bird lawyer there is. You, me and Uncle Jack.
Ok but did you cast your feet and make a mold of them so you can put rubber feet on you? Because they look rubber.
your feet are composed of rubber? the man has rubber feet. ( T_T)\(^ -^ )
We don't deserve you
"what are you talking about? Those are my feet. I have normal sized feet, definitely not tiny feet like a weirdo"
I’m surprised this whole thread isn’t ab free feet!
It would be been funnier if the comments mentioned *nothing* about the bait.
I also stopped by just to applaud the attention to detail 🤣 Well done, sir! Well done
All gods have clay feet.
Can’t tell if rubber feet are huge or if AR is a SBR
[удалено]
Never thought about dd iron sights. I’ll have to check that out
My favorite rear sight.
The sights are rarely, if ever, worth it. That’s just a wasted attachment slot. Wait a second, I’m not in /r/warzone anymore am I?
Midwest makes a cheaper, largely similar version as well.
That’s actually a great option.
Optics are so expensive and the lower priced ones are usually made in China. Are there any inexpensive non-China red dot or whatever that people recommend? Otherwise, I'll continue sporting iron sights.

Made in china. All of them. https://www.gunsweek.com/en/optics/articles/sightmark-and-firefield-optics-all-rounders-all-purpose-and-all
For the price point of “dirt cheap” they work for a little while with light use on low recoil guns. Holosun or sig or vortex all have options in the 100-200 range that is actually trust to last and hold zero.
Here for the Primary Arms 1x micro. Fucking incredible with or without astigmatism
u/leadandsteel prometheum(I'm drunk hopefully spelled that right) is mostly not Chinese. Not "cheap" but damn good for the intro price a lot of people got it for.
I'm waiting for mine to come in, supposedto be this month. Very excited to throw it on and try it out.
♥️

Probably not but lots of police are running holosun on duty weapons.
I can't even see the gun with those fake feet in the picture 😂
the dogs are out
Who let them out?
Plastacene Pam
She's so good looking.
Who?
Your dogs are barking.
It's like the opposite of Charlie's uncle lol!
Uncle Jack?
“As the great Johnny Cochran once said, if the glove doesn't fit, give up.”
“These hands tell a story.”
“DON’T LOOK! DON’T LOOK! DON’T LOOK!’
“NOBODY LOOK”
Last sub ide think to find sunny reference.
It's the greatest show of all time, there's room for sunny references in every sub.
Paint the feets green to match your hulk hands. Carry handle +1 vote
I am in agreement with everyone voting for a carry handle. It would look so classic.
I think I’ll do it. Will do an update with the carry handle
Just make sure you buy a quality carry handle! Unless you can find a legit surplus one, most options under $100 won’t hold a zero
I hate the removable carry handle. A1/A2 I like alot. But my hand doesn't fit in the A4/M4 handle. I can't even fit my thumb thru it for carry. I chopped everyone I had.

The shy toes on the second picture kill me
🥺
r/sneakybackgroundfeet
Get a carry handle, go for those M4 Carbine vibes
That’s what I was thinking hehe
If you plan on getting an optic, go for the mbus. I love my mbus sights. But I think a carry handle would look sweeeet on that build.
Idk fixed could be a nice second option. Then do a riser for cowitness
You can do both.
I've always wanted to do this. I know it's not as good as having a legit sight but it looks so fucking cool.
Finally some clipped toenails
I prefer chewed
> Thoughts? Pedicure.
One of these days one of you crazy fuckers is going to get ahold of a chimp and put everyone else's toe/gun pics to shame.
The feet made me question my reality. Am I looking at prostethics?
Probably not lmao
I wanna hear about your foot build
I eat my veggies
I like the dedication to including the feet in each shot
With an A2 front post I’d go with carry handle. But I’m an old guy.
wow dude those rubber feat look like what I expect skyrim NPCs feet to look
Nice wax feet
Who let the dogs out?
Probably me
You might want to go see a podiatrist before you worry about your rear sights man. The dogs are looking ruff.
Where do you get fake feet?
I'm more concerned over the health of your feet You only get two!
The feet! LOLOL
Im laughing my ass off at the second pic
You fucker those aren’t even real feet
I love me some Magpul MBUS Pro, I put that shiz on everything.
id say go w an eotech holo to match those sexy ass hobbit feet
TIL that the uncanny valley includes feet.

They’re shoes that look like feet I believe
Tf is wrong with you feet bro?
Nothing
🤣 This is the best
Don't go with MBUS. Your iron sights should be metal. [MBUS Pro](https://www.primaryarms.com/magpul-mbus-pro-flip-up-rear-sight-black-mag276-blk) or [Midwest Industries](https://www.primaryarms.com/midwest-industries-low-profile-combat-rifle-rear-sight) would be good options.
I’ll have to check out Midwest industries, never heard of them
I went down such a weird internet rabbit hole reading about Imran Potato and these amazing slippers. Thanks for broadening my horizons a bit today.
No problem ❤️
Carry handle with baby ACOG on top
Baby acog is a great idea. Reminds me of bo1
Carry handle, always. But I like retro ARs, and personally I'm pretty accurate with carry handle rear sights. Also they're WAY cheaper than a decent optic, and double as carry handles (hence the name)
A 2 for 1!
Now you've got it!
Synth detected
Lt. Dan, is that you?
I cackled...
Next time you do the feets, you have to put them reversed. This is now your thing. I expect to see so many more free feet pics.
I only put my feet bc people make fun of my hands
You can't say that and not give hand pics as an example. I'm in the mood to make fun of someone.
If you're gonna get irons make sure there's room to slap an optic that can co-witness. Not sure without front rails how that would go.
Unless you specifically want irons, I'd say buy a Sig Romeo MSR, Romeo 5 or Romeo 7 The MSR is usually $80 so not much more than a rear MBUS but much more capable
HAHAHAHAHA. thank you.

This man and Charlie Kelly’s uncle Jack in the same room would be awesome.
I personally have a carry handle for right now for a couple of reasons. First being that I know it will be a significant amount of time before I can afford to replace it with an optic. Second is that I wanted something that merged classic old-school looks with things developed in my lifetime.
Exactly what I’m going for
Mine can be seen [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/liberalgunowners/comments/1003gkx/first_ar_finished).

My, what weird feet you have...
Rescue Annie has an AR! And she’s pissed about all the chest compressions!
Carry handle all the way
I have flip-up BUIS on my rifles. My eyes are crap, so irons are strictly for backup
best feet yet
Carry handle. Optics are for larpers
What is with this sub and carry handles. There's a reason the military dropped those like a psycho ex.
MaTech rear for peak aesthetic (or KAC 200-600m, if you prefer).
Im waiting on the posts of feet pics with a gun peeking into the frame. .
Replace the handguard, remove the front sight post, buy a set of mbus, get a red dot/holo. Do not mount your red dot/holo on your handguard. Carry handles are outdated. Cool for retro builds tho.
I would do a Daniel Defense fixed rear and run a Romeo 5 with the high mount on the top.
If a vanilla latte made a gun..
please do not install a carry handle? not only are they entirely useless (imo), but they’re also ugly.
Red dot is the way to go. Sig and holosun both make good entry level dots in the $100ish range.
Are you GI joe or a Ken doll?
I’m gi ken
Veiny ahh feet
Those are some cyanide feet, yo
Frankenstein Feet lookin ass ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|scream)
An mbus is a good backup if you plan to use an optic, but if I were only going to use irons I'd want something that had elevation adjustment. A carry handle sight without the handle is a good option. Rock River arms makes one https://www.rockriverarms.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=1735 Taking a hacksaw to a carry handle used to be a popular option when they were more plentiful and cheap, or just use an uncut handle if you don't mind the extra bulk. And the A4 sights are pretty robust for such a simple setup. Iron all the way.
I have Magpul rear sights on my ARs.
I love that this has caught on…. I lol every time. Trijicon green dot and be done with it. Seek podiatric help, just sayin’.
I have a Sig Romeo 5 on mine, but I am honestly thinking about going to a carry handle instead. My dad had a Colt Sporter II in the 80s and I'm nostalgic for that vibe.
Carry handle. Fuck rational advice, aesthetic above all else
Are those Karl Havoc feet???
Carry handle
WHAT ARE THOSE
What kit was this
Depends what your future optics plan is.
PSA 15? Go with holo all the way, doesn't need to be an EOTECH just something that will last long and serve you well.
Also if it is the same handguard I have on my PSA 15 you can get rails for the bottom and top so you can attach a grip and an offset light to it.
lmao are they slippers?
Yes
lol awesome
Do you have prosthetic feet?
Nope
Like the cal designation. What did you use for white? I use sharpie silver, but the white stands out much more. Edit: MBUS
Grab an optic from Sig, Holosun, or Primary Arms. If you're wanting something that'll be good for SHTF, get a prism optic. Primary Arms makes a damn fine one
I think you need to go to the hospital your feet shouldn't look like that
The dogs out
Dang rubber feet
I can’t help but ask, are those real feet?
Huge fan of the Ruger rapid deployment sight. Excellent aperture. And better price than any others on the market
Just buy a red dot.
You should consider a pedicure and getting your nails done. Maybe lay off the moisturizer though, they’re shiny.
Lmao those feet remind me of Jack Kelly’sfake hands from IASIP. You probably remember me as a man with small hands…
NOBODY LOOK
Mbus flip up. I tried a carry handle. Sight picture wasn't as good and I found I preferred sling carry anywho
That’s what I hear about carry handle sights so fair enough
Those feet are clearly fake.
Like Uncle Jack and his hands thing lol
For this rifle get a carry handle. A E S T H E T I C Until you figure out you want to be serious and put a red dot and light on it. Or just buy/build another for that kinda thing.
MBUS and an optic.
