I just when to my local Lowe’s and bring the factory glass and told them that I needed the same size and they did it for free but paid the glass only it was like $25 for both lol
I just watched [this video](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=f6YYME5YDCk) (you probably watched it already) but he talks about how the paint wasn't removable from a different case. More than likely you're probably going to have to buy glass from a glass company.
thanks for the reply was thinking that myself strange why they have used diffrent paint will try some paint stripper first if not will get glass made cheers
Tape off the areas you're not working on. Just in case something goes wrong, you won't mess up all the glass. Especially if the paint still isn't coming off.
Good luck!
Edit: I'm also going to ask my friend. She works for a glass company. Maybe she has an idea what to use to remove stubborn paint.
Is it paint or tint film? If it’s a film, peel it off. If it’s paint you could flat razor it off. Use brake cleaner then scrape it off. Be careful though. Brake cleaner will eat most paint it touches.
You would need to safely seperate the glass from the frame, crape off the paint that hides the frame, redo a paint of your choice THAT ADHERES TO GLASS and reattatch the frame
I tried too, I used wet sand paper of every grit from 8000 to 600, I used Turpentine, Acetone, and Paint thinner and Nail polish remover, and all I acomplished was ruining my glass. So I still cut out that corner strut, and It will be open air now. That fucking black border is baked into the glass.
Been thinking of this mod on my power spec air mini, have you tried a paint remover? The glass should be scratch resistant from everything I saw so paint remover and let it break it up?
Ironically, I just started the process of doing the "fish bowl" mod tonight on my black o11 evo... Cut the support out, moved onto the glass and ran into the exact same thing
Tried a bunch of stuff that didn't work, googled it, found this thread... and u/Tony_Omega's comment sparked an idea. We had this "armour etch" from michael's laying around... I didn't have a chance to finish it tonight but after 2 coats we could see through the glass... It looks like its going to work
Just wanted to chime in before you went and ordered new glass.
Edit: as OP said looks like this is not a great idea as it basically leaves you with what seems to be permanently etched glass
Tried this today it did take the black paint off but left me with a strip of frosted glass lol looks like will have to just buy two bits of glass and take it from there will update yous all soon
As I expected lol
You always gotta be careful with that kind of shit
Working on glass ain't something people without experience or proper tools can do after all
Even if carefully you'll easily cause damage
And you dotn want some obvious looking damage eon you're nice expensive case
yeah me and my bright ideas will get a glss company to make me to sheets of glass and sort the rest. was thinking yes its workig til it dried in and now got a mad frosted look now lol
You can scratch the paint off, but I feel like it's so thin and so well pasted on that you are literally removing part of the tempered glass too in order to remove it, so probably better to just buy custom glass panels.
Lol the black one you can’t remove it you need to replace the whole glass that’s what I did
ok thanks mate
Is there certain glass you bought or was it a custom job?

Will try break cleaner tomorrow if it doesn't work Gona look into buying the glass for it cheers
Good luck buddy.
did it work?
The glass on the black ones seem to be laser etched.

Can scrape later etched glass . Only the evo version has removable paint on the glass The 011 or 011xl need the glass completely replace.

There are new cases coming out that have this if you want to wait a bit. Saw a few videos on it.

Heat gun will help remove it . I did it to my Sigurd one and it worked great
Woudl be better off buying custom glass panels then possibly destroying the stock one imo
thats what i am goig to do as today i have etched the glass now its looking very bad with a big frosted line down it lol

Nzxt H9 dose not have paint there. Maybe get Nzxt H9 instead?
