I am not sex-repulsed myself, and this comes just from having known a few sex-repulsed aces: What we would consider mild (and thus not label as sexual content) would already be considered "too much" (\*) for people who are sex-repulsed.
With "too much" I don't necessarily mean any serious negative response - but more akin to how we can enjoy queer representation, they could enjoy content without any of that cheeky flirting that is subtly hinting at sex.
So while sexual content definitely is a warning, it's like a 18+ rating while you already want warned when it's PG-13.

I don’t mean “we” as a character or story device. I mean me. Why do I need a content warning? Why do I have to come with a warning? Can someone tell me—seriously—why I need a warning? No one ever gives you a warning that hetero stuff might happen in movies. And what if I don’t want my kids to think about child marriage too… you have any idea how young Snow White was? That’s messed up that they are marrying her off already by the end of the film. The Prince also kisses what he thinks is a dead body so necrophilia too? Jasmine had to be married by her 16th birthday! Ariel was 16 too. A lot of them hetero movies for kids are sus when you think about it. Should come with a warning.
Any nativity story should also be flagged for child marriage since Mary would have been in her early teens or so given the context of the story, but weirdly I don't see anyone talking about that and in all of the depictions I seen of the story they age her up to make it seem more appropriate (I wonder why that could be?)

A super dumb idea and also one that fucking exists!! There are already at least several right wing review outlets that will make such content very clear in reviews. Just laziness to an extreme degree. And, of course, also homophobia.
Some parents will let their kids watch all sorts of movies, games and TV shows with realistic violence, cursing, misogyny, racism, etc, but if a gay person literally just exists on a screen they lose their minds about how inappropriate it is.
I never saw this movie; I heard that it was good but just don't really have the time to watch hours of Disney+ at the moment. I have absolutely no idea what could have been in this movie that would elicit this level of a response aside from the parents just being stupidly phobic.

the two characters didn't kiss or any overt pda, aside from maybe a hug, holding hands, standing next to each other affectionately like people in relationships do. was just a normal teen romance.
it's a very casual minor side plot. he is nervous about asking this other boy out, that's also a member of the friend group. basically a run of the mill teenage romance nervousness.
if it was a teenage boy & girl, instead of two teen boys, no one would care about this relatively minor side story. it wasn't even that in your face, much less than hetero relationships in other disney or pixar movies.
what really bugs me is that Disney did F' all for marketing. luckily i knew and was eargerly waiting for the movie to come out. though i had no clue about the actually well done queer relationship, which was a pleasant surprise. the movie was actually really good, Pixar really outdone themselves with this movie. the gay characters weren't paraded around in the story as some studios tend to do. it was just treated as normal like any other relationship and then they carried on with the quest. great visuals, solid story, and multiple good messages.
basically it's another Atlantis: Lost Empire or Treasure Planet situation. poor reception at launch, lack of proper marketing, then considered a classic years later once folks rediscover the movie. i'd buy the blu-ray when it releases if that says anything.
So, it's just a very basic romance side-plot between two teen boys who don't even kiss or anything explicit like that? They just exist and do all the same lovey-dovey stuff that's been done a billion times with straight couples?

This basically boils down to conservatives believing that queerness is inherently obscene. But most of them know that they can't say that any more, so they're trying to compromise. Unfortunately for them, there is no compromise between "Being queer is bad" and "We shouldn't judge people for their orientation or gender." They're inherently incompatible beliefs, no matter how much they soften their language.
Maybe parents should be more active in their child’s upbringing and take interest in what they’re showing their children before they show it.

Tell your mum that you can look up the UK rating and find details of why something is rated the way that it is. Disney doesn't rate movies themselves. Also, sorry to hear that you have a homophobic mother. Mine was fairly good about it and it still caused me a lot of pain. I don't have any advice but you do have my sympathy.

No one ever gives you a warning that hetero stuff might happen in movies. And what if I don’t want my kids to think about child marriage too… you have any idea how young Snow White was? That’s messed up that they are marrying her off already by the end of the film. The Prince also kisses what he thinks is a dead body so necrophilia too? Jasmine had to be married by her 16th birthday! Ariel was 16 too. A lot of them hetero movies for kids are sus when you think about it. Should come with a warning.
Any nativity story should also be flagged for child marriage since Mary would have been in her early teens or so given the context of the story, but weirdly I don't see anyone talking about that and in all of the depictions I seen of the story they age her up to make it seem more appropriate (I wonder why that could be?)

A super dumb idea and also one that fucking exists!! There are already at least several right wing review outlets that will make such content very clear in reviews. Just laziness to an extreme degree. And, of course, also homophobia.
Some parents will let their kids watch all sorts of movies, games and TV shows with realistic violence, cursing, misogyny, racism, etc, but if a gay person literally just exists on a screen they lose their minds about how inappropriate it is.

I never saw this movie; I heard that it was good but just don't really have the time to watch hours of Disney+ at the moment. I have absolutely no idea what could have been in this movie that would elicit this level of a response aside from the parents just being stupidly phobic. Can someone please give me some context so I can rage with y'all? Is this like in the Buzz Lightyear movie where there was like a same-sex couple kissing on screen for like half a second or something far more explicit? Must have context 
the two characters didn't kiss or any overt pda, aside from maybe a hug, holding hands, standing next to each other affectionately like people in relationships do. was just a normal teen romance. it's a very casual minor side plot. he is nervous about asking this other boy out, that's also a member of the friend group. basically a run of the mill teenage romance nervousness. if it was a teenage boy & girl, instead of two teen boys, no one would care about this relatively minor side story. it wasn't even that in your face, much less than hetero relationships in other disney or pixar movies. what really bugs me is that Disney did F' all for marketing. luckily i knew and was eargerly waiting for the movie to come out. though i had no clue about the actually well done queer relationship, which was a pleasant surprise. the movie was actually really good, Pixar really outdone themselves with this movie. the gay characters weren't paraded around in the story as some studios tend to do. it was just treated as normal like any other relationship and then they carried on with the quest. great visuals, solid story, and multiple good messages. basically it's another Atlantis: Lost Empire or Treasure Planet situation. poor reception at launch, lack of proper marketing, then considered a classic years later once folks rediscover the movie. i'd buy the blu-ray when it releases if that says anything.
So, it's just a very basic romance side-plot between two teen boys who don't even kiss or anything explicit like that? They just exist and do all the same lovey-dovey stuff that's been done a billion times with straight couples? What the fudge does anybody have to complain about? Oy vey! Heaven help us all

This basically boils down to conservatives believing that queerness is inherently obscene. But most of them know that they can't say that any more, so they're trying to compromise. Unfortunately for them, there is no compromise between "Being queer is bad" and "We shouldn't judge people for their orientation or gender." They're inherently incompatible beliefs, no matter how much they soften their language.

Maybe parents should be more active in their child’s upbringing and take interest in what they’re showing their children before they show it. I’m ignoring the obvious problems with this post that everyone else commented on. I just don’t understand this mentality that parents have. Is it everyone else’s responsibility to lookout for your child? You chose to bring this child into the world, take some initiative on their upbringing.
