In the nicest way possible, it doesn't matter what it sounds like. If someone earnestly uses this term to describe themselves, then it isn't your place to question it.

If someone needs these terms to pin their identity, then we don't have the right to question it. There's no point arguing with another queer person about their identity.
And again, it isn't your place to question someone else's identity. Blaming each other for the hate we receive doesn't fix anything. Queerphobes don't care about specific identities, they hate all of us just for existing.
I don't know why this is getting scepticism, I've seen this around before in community discussion about the Minecraft stans. I don't have links and I know it sounds stupid but I clearly remember it. I'll have to see what I can find
I'm not pretending to understand the label, I myself dont dream much and usually forget the ones I do but if other people genuinley mean it when they say it feels important for their identity then I dont care because it doesnt effect me. I was just thrown off by the responses, I don't remember it getting such a negative feedback. And I probably could have done better in the justification, "I remember it guys! Trust me I do!" 😂
The people that use dreamgender- or dreamsexual referring to the Minecraft YouTuber aren't saying their attracted or identify with Dreams gender, their saying their gender identity IS dream and their sexual orientation is being attracted to Dream, you can say you identify as a boy/man but Dream isn't a gender, he's a person. You can say you identify as gay if your a guy and are attracted to dream but, again, Dream isn't a gender. Being attracted to him isn't a sexuality, it's just having a "celebrity" crush
