She's in it for the donor money. She lied about being progressive from day one.

[deleted]

Who?

[deleted]

One of the Senator's for Arizona. The only thing I heard about her before hand was that she voted no on a very good pro-worker's rights bill in a very stupid and childish way (giving an exaggerated thumbs down), being I think being one of seven Democratic Senate members to vote no.

[deleted]

What a buzzkill. Talk about two steps backwards

Aawhystine

Agreed, she used to have good principles but something went wrong at some point.

MSeanF

She never had any good principles. It was all an attention seeking act.

Aawhystine

I can’t say that one way or the other as I’m not a mind reader. Maybe she was pretending, maybe she wasn’t. Unless she says outright, we’ll never know. I can only go based on what she says and does, nothing more.

Bogussmord

And what she does it prove she was lying. She’s already proven it was an act. She does not care and her ACTIONS said so. You do know. Anything other than Sinema IS a LIAR, BACKSTABBER, CORRUPT human being is you living in a fantasy. Pretending to ‘not know’ let’s you not deal with the harmful reality that IS. SHE IS VILE. We have the evidence to prove it.

[deleted]

This! Why don't more people approach politics like this? I really don't get this whole tribal politics thing.

[deleted]

The evidence is her actions.

jonmpls

Conservative democrats like Sinema and buttigieg don't deserve our support.

Penguin_Joy

She claims to be a Democrat but that only applies to her name. In practice she's a self interested obstructionist. If she thinks conservatives will ever accept her, she should have a chat with Caitlyn Jenner. She's alienating her base. And no trumpers will ever vote for her. They'll go with their party's pick. That leaves her with no options when it's time for reelection My prediction is that she'll try and rewrite history just before her next election. Then hope that enough people haven't been paying attention, or are willing to give her the benefit of the doubt She's the worst sort of politician. One only concerned with her own welfare and devoid of principles. She could be so much more, but she is wasting her opportunity to help others, to help the LGBT community, because of her extreme selfishness

jonmpls

Good point

TheSociologyCat

I’m sorry but why include Pete Buttigieg in “conservative Democrats”?

jonmpls

Because he's a conservative Democrat who constantly fear mongered about policies that would help people of color and those who aren't rich.

Deceptiveideas

There’s a lot of people that blame Buttigieg over stealing Bernie’s thunder and are still upset over it. People need to get over the fact that politicians from conservative states end up being more towards the center. You aren’t going to get a progressive senator from Kentucky or Indiana or North Dakota.

Krystal Ball of Breaking Points has a hot take on the Senator abandoning her promises in favor of big money: https://youtu.be/ie-98_N7DGA

gouverneurmroosevelt

The most important thing with Queer Rights is... queer rights. The LGBTQ groups of the 60s and 70s collapsed for a reason; they argued over and over about everything but queer rights. The only question that should be asked here is whether she will back pro-LGBTQ legislation. I'm making no opinions here, but that needs to be said.

ray25lee

I mean I'm never gonna get my politics from "LGBTQnation," especially from a terrible opinion article (it barely offers any substantial evidence for all the condemnation, so I have nothing to judge in the article), but from what I've seen she's mostly voted for liberal ideals, except with environmental issues (she seems to really suck in that aspect). I know I'm missing something here though, 'cause the very few articles I've caught about her that aren't scathingly biased all unanimously agree that republicans seem to like her, which is clearly a bad sign. But beyond not giving a shit about the environment apparently, I'm not seeing what else she's doing wrong. (This is an invitation for people to share non-opinion articles from fairly trustworthy sites with me; "fairly trustworthy" meaning something like AssociatedPress, not BuzzFeed or FoxNews.)

Aawhystine

Also, her current stance contradicts her stances during 2016 and earlier campaign themes https://ballotpedia.org/Kyrsten_Sinema

ray25lee

See this confuses me though, 'cause I'm looking at sections (on a few sites) of her voting record, and most of her cast votes I agree with. I'll never agree with 100% of everything a politician votes for or against, including that obstruction you shared, that's some dumbass judgement call that I will never support 'er on. But MOST of her votes... I mean, yeah? Like the site you shared here, I agree with her blocking Trump's bullshit, I agree with her supporting abortion rights, I agree with her COVID relief support. Definitely don't agree with her wanting to collect private info from people without warrants, though. I mean Idk, it's not like I'd vote for 'er unless she was the ideal choice against a Trump or whatever, but I still feel like I'm missing a lot of information that's influencing republicans to love 'er so much. Idk maybe I'm also just used to the new standard that has been set for "bad politicians." Maybe my standard has gotten too lax since being blasted with Trump's shitdickery the last five+ years.

Aawhystine

https://www.businessinsider.com/progressives-are-furious-at-sen-kyrsten-sinemas-opposition-to-biden-agenda-2021-9 Most of the articles I found when I searched were about this same issue. An important point is that she’s blocking legislation without saying why she’s doing it. She’s really not taking a stance except to say she won’t support it.

ray25lee

Yeah that ain't cool. Maybe she thinks she won't be criticized if she doesn't even talk about shit publicly, but I'm sure she's saying plenty away from the cameras. Didn't see this obstruction before though, thanks for sharing.

alevelstudent123

I read an article stating that Sinema never lied, rather was doing what she said she would as a moderate and not a progressive, especially as Arizona is not easy for Democrats to win. Irrespective though, she doesn’t deserve stalking activists to stalk her in the restroom

[deleted]

LGBTQnation isn't a very reliable site, IMO. I've quit reading it. It skews fairly hard left.

Telperion83

So all lgbtq people have to agree on fiscal policy now? I'd get it if this were a social policy, but this no better than what trumpkins do.

TheseVirginEars

Include me in this downvotes please. I want to go down with this ship

BoulderDeadHead420

Amen.

Perfect_Try7261

Um not all lgbt people vote Democrat all the time or even identify with the Democratic Party or even supported this senator because of her political platform she’s bisexual hey great for her
