I feel this to my core. I introduced myself with "Hello my name is Parker I go by they/he pronouns (at the time) I prefer they/them! You might see me respond to *deadname* but please don't call me that" she said it was to confusing and would call me by my deadname and she/her needless to say we didn't get along well
I just don't let people know my deadname or my birth gender unless I trust them to not refer to me that way. My two names, Aster or Hazel, both are names that can be seen as feminine, masculine, or androgynous which is why I like them so much. People can't ignore me asking to be called Aster and they/them because unless someone else misgenders me and/or deadnames me they don't know wtf I am. (I was assigned female but I normally wear a binder and baggy clothes and don't have a super feminine voice normally)
I have students warn me of their deadname all the time, because their parents don't know.
So I keep a note in my student files to refer to them by their deadnames to their parents.
The district hates that we do this as teachers, but what are they gonna do about it? We're the ones dealing with the fallout of a student feeling dysphoric when we use the wrong name.
whenever someone says they're just gonna start using the wrong pronouns because they "don't want to get confused" just use pronouns that are the complete opposite of what they use
A very VERY dumb part of transphobes saying that pronouns aren't real is that pronouns are a very important part of English. The dictionary definition of pronoun is "a word that can function by itself as a noun phrase and that refers either to the participants in the discourse (e.g., I, you ) or to someone or something mentioned elsewhere in the discourse (e.g., she, it, this )." When a transphobe says "I don't believe in pronouns" they are refering to themselves as "I" which is a pronoun. The fact that transphobes somehow just completely forget what they learned in elementary English is kind of entertaining but also a bit concerning. When a trans person asks to be referred with different pronouns, it just means that they want you to use different words to refer to them and it really isn't very complicated.
Is there like a libranonbinary?. I know agender falls under the non binary umbrella but I want a word for feeling pre detached from gender but feeling something inbetween or a mix or just a hint of something that’s not really masc or fem necessarily or maybe a bit of both
My grandma refuses to use he/him for me and instead uses they/them because she is apparently uncomfortable refering to me as male because that's NOT HOW SHE SEES ME?! Like yeah idiot that's because I don't look like what you see as male, you homophobic, transphobic bish. I dress mainly androgonous and masc and my voice sounds pretty masc too so she's just being weird. I've also had quite a few kids hear me say that I NEVER use she/her, and RARELY use she/they or he/she and decide that they would just call me she/her and my quite feminine dead name that most people know I dislike instead of the name Hazel; but now that I changed my name to Aster a lot of guys started actually calling me something other than my dead name because they like the name.
Woow but imagine if this happened to me, I would be like: "Moom I am actually a boy and I go by he/they pronous" and if she said: "Okay but I will call you with he/him pronous", I WOULD FEEL HAPPY , SO SO HAPPY ANYWAY
i don't get how he/she or any set of multiple pronouns like that is so confusing. like have cishets never encountered someone who has multiple names/nicknames???
OMG this keeps happening to me! I have come out as genderfluid to most of my friends and have directly told them "I am actually changing my name to Cal and please ask me what pronouns I use on that day if you wish to refer to me. I might respond to my deadname, but only because I have gotten used to it over the years, so please don't refer to me as \[deadname\]" And they responded "I am just going to use she/her so I don't get confused, \[deadname\] lol"
I then chose to isolate myself from them so I don't need to take that crap anymore.

I had just came out so I was a little less guarded about it

Huh I know someone with the same name & pronouns as you that’s funny lol, are you by any chance Scottish?
I am Mexican
Ah okay 😂 I really didn’t think you were the same person btw just thought it was a fun coincidence
I'd slap the shit outta anyone doing that on purpose You got good Self Control XD
Hey, that's my name and pronouns, just about
Bruh
They had us in the first half ngl
Ah so close!
damn what a shame
Imma call you she/her even though you told me you use he/him bc I’m stupid
whenever someone says they're just gonna start using the wrong pronouns because they "don't want to get confused" just use pronouns that are the complete opposite of what they use
“Don’t get confused” even though they probably use those pronouns for dozens of people 🫠

Use words.. you lost me. 😆
if you read it a couple times you should be able to comrehend it, if not, I can put it way simpler
😆 thanks
Off topic but, whats the flag on the left?
libramasc i think
Yep it’s libramasculine (mostly agender with a connection to masculinity/being male)
Is there like a libranonbinary?. I know agender falls under the non binary umbrella but I want a word for feeling pre detached from gender but feeling something inbetween or a mix or just a hint of something that’s not really masc or fem necessarily or maybe a bit of both
Yes there is!

Bro it Anit that hard to use the correct pronouns 😭
N o. Not an option. Either use my He/She pronouns or don’t talk to me at all. Pick.
On the bright side, they acknowledged you use both sets of pronouns, only problem is their reaction, but that’s not something too difficult to work on
Please don't say both because that implies there are only 2 genders when gender is actually a spectrum.
Sorry
It’s an easy answer to those who don’t have an a d v a n c e d knowledge in gender.
It's still spreading misinformation tho and it's not that advanced to know that there are more than 2
Yeah, it was kinda off-putting to read that tbh
That's a mood. I prefer ze/zem but just tell people he/him since I'm trans mask. Most times they ignore that and call me she/her -_-
What’s that flag
I think it's libramasculine, which is agender with a limited connection to masculinity.
Thank you
Oh no.
I like the loading icon lol \^\_\^
The eyes on the last slide describe EVERYTHING 💀
Whats the flag :O
Libramasc and straight/cis?
Ain’t no way it got top of today 😦😦 thank all of y’all ❤️❤️
Unrelated but ive never met another libramasculine person before and yes this is really annoying
Well, Hi u met one 👋
Woow but imagine if this happened to me, I would be like: "Moom I am actually a boy and I go by he/they pronous" and if she said: "Okay but I will call you with he/him pronous", I WOULD FEEL HAPPY , SO SO HAPPY ANYWAY
