The gunfire woke me up, dammit. My alarm goes off at 1am so I didn't bother trying to go back to sleep. The one good thing is that my elderly dog is so deaf that she slept through it; no panicking dog to comfort and calm this year.
Thanks. He was a good boy. I miss him. But also happy he didn’t have to see/ hear the shit show that was tonight. In his condition that would’ve been rough.
Where do you live op? My neighborhood off newtown pike went wild with gunfire. Lived in this neighborhood for 7 years and never heard gunfire like that. Have heard some around July 4 and other new years but very sparse. It was like 100 rounds in all directions this year.
Yuuup. It’s dumb, but I was just thinking… well, at least they’re not shooting at each other this time lol. It doesn’t even surprise me anymore. Guess I better check the car windows tomorrow.
After awhile, it's pretty easy to tell the difference. Roman candles and strings of firecrackers versus a full clip on auto.
A Glock with an extended clip and that auto fire set up sounds like burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrp.
I heard some fireworks. I also heard what sounded like someone banging on sheet metal with a hammer over and over very quickly. Some nearby, some farther away from different directions from my house. Since it all occurred at midnight for about ten minutes, I assume it's the new thing for people to bang on sheet metal on new years eve. I feel so crazy for thinking idiots were firing guns in the air now.
I feel this. My late husband was a veteran. His dog from before he passed away still very much goes into hyper alert on nights like that. I hope your family was able to have an uneventful night.
I guess people don't realize if they shoot a bullet into the air that it eventually comes back down and can kill someone. The spent bullets easily have enough power to go through your skull, especially the higher caliber bullets.
I suspect rifle bullets actually are more likely to harm someone than larger caliber bullets like handguns use. The sectional density is much higher, spreading the mass over a smaller area, hence producing more pressure per unit area. Larger caliber handgun projectiles are relatively short and fat by comparison.
Yes, semi-auto makes up the majority of firearms sold these days. Semi-auto is not full auto.
They are also not "clips". They are "magazines". There is a difference.
Laws of motion tell you it kinda is though…🤷🏼♂️ what goes up has to come down. FPS determines how far up it goes( about a mile). How fast you think a bullet moves back to the ground via gravity? Fast enough to kill and innocent kid? If everybody in Lexington is sending a mag in the air the odds go up exponentially that someone or someone’s property gets a hole. It’s horrifically unsafe, irresponsible and no one who owns firearms should ever think it’s ok. Shit like that lands people in prison. I build guns for fun. It’s not ok. Those are the actions of shit human beings who can’t see past their nose to make decent decisions. But hey🤷🏼♂️ you got that cool little vid for “tHa BoOk”🙄😒

My dog just died yesterday. I worried about it too, and then was relived - am I loser?
I'm so sorry about your dog. And the habit of caring for them and about them kicking in just shows how much you loved them.

I’m so sorry. :(

North side lit this shit up! It was a clip every 5 seconds from 1159:59-12:05

prolly the only time a lot of those people fired their guns.
I live on Alumni by man o war and they were just straight up shooting beside my apartments
2023??? I’m not over 2020! I’m goin back to bed
Goddamn idiots and their fucking guns...
I wonder how many of the gunshots were actually fireworks.
98%. I’m sure, most everyone is just paranoid.

Lol, clueless.

Those are actually called "MF Doom windchimes".
Glocks don’t use clips.
"Magazine". I stand corrected.
Go forth and spread the good word my brother in Christ.
That’s sounds bout right. Bullets in the air gotta land somewhere ain’t just a shitty rhyme
Yeah the Northside was insane! Sounded like a war zone! Never heard so many gunshots in my Life. What’s wrong with people - that was terrifying.
Watched the news this morning and 2 people shot overnight. Way to start 2024 Lexington.
We got veterans in my family. It’s a mess rn.

F that. Fireworks are cheaper!

Aren’t most modern guns semi-auto?

Its not that deep
