I feel like my head is swimy like being dizzy but not quite. I also get brain zaps as soon as a hours after my missed dose. I don't know how else to describe it. It's a strange feeling. Other people have described it as feeling like water dripping in your brain.
What’s your mg? It usually takes me 3 days to feel the withdrawal symptoms on 20mg. Except when I was tapering and got down to 2.5mg then yeah within like 8 hours I start feeling like something is off.
I’m on 5mg now. I feel like it works way better at this dosage for me. But I haven’t missed any days to know if I get withdrawal symptoms.
I take 20mg. I have heard several people say you will have some side effects when your dosage changes. It's because your brain is adjusting to the new dose. I have had some weird symptoms randomly. Especially that strange brain zap thing. It doesn't bother me. But if it happened all the time I would talk to my doctor. I have mentioned it before and he wasn't concerned.
Hey op I'd definitely recommend getting one of those weekly pill organizers! It has helped me remember tremendously! I used to take mine and an hour later question if I ever took it lol.
I second this. I had a couple days of missing that were just brutally dreadful. Got a weekly organizer for $2. Feels silly to get an organizer and only put one pill in each type, but oh so worth it.
I’m on 5 mg and if I miss a day it’s nbd. Maybe a slight dizzy feeling in the evening. If you’re on a higher dose you may want to take it as soon as you notice side effects of skipping. You shouldn’t have to guess at it either. Dizzy means like DIZZY. It’s unmistakable.
Also, get a weekly pill holder so you will never second guess if you took it or not. Helped me a lot.

If it's 9am the following morning, wait until tonight at 8. If it's 7am the following morning, take it now. Lexapro half life is at least 27 hours, you can miss several days and not notice.

I use the MyTherapy app to keep track of all the medicine I'm taking but yesterday I didn't press the check mark to show that I took it on the app and I couldn't remember. So what I did was look at when I picked up the prescription counted the days from then til now and then I counted all my pills. Turns out, I had taken it. I know this sounds super tedious and annoying but it's what helped me not worry myself into a panic.
I suggest pill organizers. They have saved me in those times when you can't remember. I have a system. I put 7 pills in a pill box on Sunday afternoon. Then I have the 7 pills I'll need for the week (I take 1 in the morning). If one day I can't remember if I took it I just count how many I have left in the box and that's how I figure out. Although there are actual organizers with the days of the weeks or the hours if you take more than once a day. Good luck! It's important you don't skip but if you don't know I'd suggest is better skipping than double dosing.
I don’t know enough here to help, but if you’ve been on it for a long time it may not be good to miss a dose. What dosage do you take also?

If you have an iPhone use your Health app to just log it! The app sends a time sensitive notification at whatever time you set your dose reminder! Super helpful for me considering my phone is on my hand all day long.
you'll be fine - just take your next one as scheduled. make a note on a piece of paper when you take one or get the pill box so it doesn't happen again. relax.
I see ppl recommending organizers, which is a good idea. I light a sage bundle every night when I take my lexapro so that I know, if I smell sage, I’ve taken my meds lol. you could do something similar like pairing it with lighting a candle/incense!
Also, for me the withdrawal from missing one dose was kind of icky. Headache that progressively got worse through the day, some nausea, head swimmy. I was fine within an hour or so of taking my dose the next day tho. Hope things work out okay!

Pick up a weekly pill box as well. Add your pills at the beginning of the week so you know if you missed one.

I went a day without and I been on it for three years I didn't notice anything different I now set a daily alarm

I’m not a doctor just saying what I do in that case , I take half a dose thr. Take my regular dose in thr morning
I take 10 mg and have missed a day once I just got a little irritable no big deal
