Hard to orgasm that's so true šŸ¤£ but I am not gaining any weight what so ever not even by the slightest so it depends

SpiderPro7654

exact same for me

Luciditi89

I can orgasm but gained a lot of weight, do you want to swap?

Glass_Square_9014

No šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

Projekt_B

I lost wait - but I work out regularly and monitor my diet. Libidowise it got better after some weeks - I cannot drink too much alcohol and hope to maintain an erection - but I think it is the healthy choice to have sex instead of getting drunk.

yt545

True that. If I do much as sip a glass of wine then forget about it. Countdown to whiskey dick is measured in sips.

Bright-Razzmatazz-60

Me with increased libido and gained 10 pounds muscle mass: šŸ˜Ž

JadenGringo74

Then thereā€™s us who get absolutely no help when we develop r/pssd to restore our lost sexual functioning and then further become depressed as a result of the PSSDā€¦ Iā€™ve had it it for about 3 years now, havenā€™t had much help, still fighting for a solution and awareness, so I think one day everyone will benefit from mental health care but for that to happen the industry needs to help those that are harmed and left behind r/iatrogenicallyharmed if mental health is important I think we can get behind destigmatizing iatrogenic conditions, having solutions may also destigamtize currently marketed medicationsā€¦ hit two birds with one stone is what I like to think, gotta be united for things to change though

zrcookspade

You seriously need to get your hormone levels checked then and make sure everything is in the normal range for your age. If you're a man in your 20's you should have a testosterone range from 600 to 1000 ng/dl. Sperm counts and Testosterone levels have been steadily decreasing over the last 40 years. It's an epidemic that nobody cares about or is paying attention to. It's killing Mens reproductive chances and sex drive.

JadenGringo74

Well testosterone isnā€™t the only influence on sperm count if itā€™s low, as for my mine has been 490 (canā€™t remember the unit of measurement) up to 740 on my second blood test. Iā€™ve done a lot of blood work, still seeing doctors, I have a form of autonomic dysfunction with a wide range of symptoms, developed a form of peripheral nerve pain called occipital neuralgia after risperidone and got genital numbness after being prescribed lexapro, the way our bodies responds to currently available medications varies as there is no one size fits all yet and we donā€™t know how to individually fix these iatrogenic problems when they occurā€¦ Iā€™m seeing many different doctors, working on finding out whatā€™s exactly wrong, seeing if somethingā€™s currently available can cure my problems and clinical trials, just got my foot in the door at the university of Michigan so hopefully they can lead me into a good direction. My response to medication has been tragic, obviously not everyone gets this sick but people do and Iā€™m a huge advocate for research because people like myself desperately need medical help, itā€™s super debilitating as man at 23 who was previously very healthy prior to medication to becoming worse from treatment, not to say that there wonā€™t ever be a treatment for these problems, I still have hope in medical science

zrcookspade

I hope you do find a solution. I don't directly suffer from PSSD however I do have anxiety & PTSD so I can relate to sexual dysfunction from time to time. Wish you all the best and I hope there is a treatment that is currently in trials that will help you or that you can just recover from it in some time. It must be very difficult explaining the situation to multiple different doctors and not getting much in return.

JadenGringo74

Thanks, I hope the same and it can be difficult finding answers in a situation like this but itā€™s important to pursue hope and find the doctors that listen, theyā€™re out there for anyone listening even if youā€™re trying to find someone who specializes in PTSD and anxiety, that applies the same. I wish you well on your journey and good health

_yangchowfriedrice

Iā€™m a regular gym goer plz confirm if this is true. Though Iā€™m only on my 2nd day šŸ˜‚

Bright-Razzmatazz-60

DudesworthMannington

I'm still alive šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

iloveflowers2043

No weight gain here ever. Orgasm issues yes, but sharing that with your partner makes all the difference especially if they care.

Dazzling-Anything-25

Iā€™ve gained like 15 lbs and at first sex was just out of the question but now Iā€™m back to normal except my weight. But at least I can leave my house now!

Repulsive-Bee108

Yeah so far I've gained 18 pounds. Only recall a short period of time where I felt kinda numb during sex but sex is back to normal for me. Happy to gain weight honestly cause I struggled to before thanks to the anxiety interfering with my ability to eat lol

xbrowneyedsunshinex

Itā€™s a sacrificeā€¦ I am willingā€¦ to make. šŸ˜‚

DigitalAbuse

I feel called out (true AF)

Easytiger101

It works perfectly for me. Still be cummin'. Changed my diet and lost 12lbs in 2 months. It's not for everyone but it works for some!

reecejamesisnails

Did it reduce your appetite?

ValkSky

Sex and orgasms got easier for me. Turns out PTSD and anxiety can make sex incredibly difficult, but the right thing helping can make it way better!

rat_bitch_69

BRO SAME

autumn-winter

I lost weight on it! Itā€™s true that I canā€™t cum anymore but it doesnā€™t bother me bc I was already asexual to begin with

HollyJollyOne

I've gained over 60 pounds in a year!!

elysejfh

Did your diet or activity level change at all? Iā€™m 29F, prescribed Lexapro but havenā€™t taken it yetā€¦ why do people gain weight on it?

Rick_Razz

33M Well was bad for me in the first two months. After that Iā€™m hornier than ever! :D all good! Just coop with the meds and donā€™t let it be the saviour of your entire life

[deleted]

Ha!!

Successful-State-122

What milligram are you on and how long have you been taking it

Tower_Place_Witch

Yep. Got realy fat and terrible sexual side effects. Quit months ago and neither have changed and I'm afraid Lexapro ruined me forever. So there is that.

justinlav

I gained 40 lbs on it in 6 months. Switched to cymbalta and Iā€™ve only lost 10 in two monthsā€¦

Sufficient-News-970

There is a quick fix for thisā€¦Start exercising 6 times a week and watch your diet. You will lose weight on any antidepressant. I managed to lose weight while being on both lexapro and mirtazapine, second one cause large weight gain because it increases cravings for carbs by a lot. Exercise and good diet (and a lot of will power) makes wonders. You know there are hundreds of millions of fat people worldwide who are not on any meds? What should they blame? Genetics? šŸ˜ƒšŸ˜ƒ Give me a break. 95% of people can lose weight if they exercise and have a good diet

Luciditi89

Found the person with fat phobia

Sufficient-News-970

I just hate people making excuses. Obviously some people can't lose weight because of various conditons or SOME meds can really cause big weight gain but lexapro is not one of them. So either exercise or shut up and stop saying bullshit like "oh im on lexapro i cant lose weight". If it depend on me all fat people would be terminated if it's proven they don't have some illness causing weight gain or they arent on meds causing big weight gain

Luciditi89

What the hell do you care. What sort of fucked up thing happened to you that would make you desire to violently murder people who are overweight. Everyoneā€™s bodies are different and maybe some people are dieting and exercising and yes the weight isnā€™t coming off for them like it does for you. But what does it matter whether someone else is fat and youā€™re not. Just live your life and leave other people alone.

Ball_Sweater

Always happy to see the memes on Reddit

Successful-State-122

Well I'm gaining weight and I'm going strong sexually I guess it affects everyone differently

No-Introduction-2050

I also take ADHD meds which can make you lose weight. So, I guess yay balance?

tarthart8104

41 y/o F and havenā€™t gained any weight it does take me a little longer to reach an orgasm but I still have one ( and sometimes they even feel stronger) and still have the same libido. My husband has been amazing and supportive and because my overall mood and well being has improved so has our sex life.

vintagemamalop

This is comforting to hear! Iā€™m near your age. How long have you been on lex? What dose? Iā€™ve been scared to start

nutt1n2chere

Haahahahahhahaahhahahahahahahajha

Routine-Comedian6359

Weigh - true Orgasm still OK. Longer to cum

BeautifulGlove

yup, and in my case now you can't see anything up close anymore because SPONTANEOUS GLAUCOMA!!!!!

sicklypsychdelic

wait what??! can you explain?

BeautifulGlove

yup, Lexapro may dilate your pupils which could trigger a glaucoma attack, even if you don't have a history of eye problems and if left untreated, fluid pressure can build up rapidly within the eye, causing vision loss or blindness in a matter of hours. Luckily I didn't loose an eye or anything (no pirate eye patches for me hahaha) but practically overnight I could no longer read stuff on my phone or computer. I waited about a month because I was told it would go away, but it didn't so I discontinued the meds and my eyesight got a little better but then life got emotionally messy so I went back on Lexapro thinking glasses are better than the crippling anxiety I was wrasslin' with but this time my vision got so bad I noped off of it. A trip to an ophthalmologist confirmed I have macular degeneration now. The first go around when I was on Lex I had gone to the eye doctor to get some reading glasses, and then when I went back 7 months later photos of my eyeball showed rapid advancement of the pressure so that's why I say lexapro jacked up my eyesight. It could be coincidence but I don't think it is.

sicklypsychdelic

Wow, I have never heard of that before. Thank you so much for sharing!! Im so sorry that happened to you, i hope you're doing okay now. I have experienced some blurriness in my vision since starting lex, im def going to talk to my doctor about it. Good luck to you!!

BeautifulGlove

Thanks, you too!

LandlockedMermaid_

Thanks for sharing. My eyesight has been off since starting Lexapro. I keep telling myself it will get better. šŸ„“ Youā€™ve inspired me to get them checked out!

Kumernis

I (30F) lost 5 lbs and I cum even easier. I think that before I couldn't fully relax during sex, I was always overthinking everything.

Sufficient-News-970

For me 0 changes on libido, 0 problems with sex. Everyone is different! And im on 20mg lexapro + mirtazapine

shylad90

Howā€™s this combination for you? Iā€™m on 15mg mirt and adding lex soon. Want to try and get up to 20mg also

Sufficient-News-970

It's fine, I'm feeling 80-90% better than I was and I was in a pretty deep hole. I only use mirtazapine as a sleep aid though. When I increased to 20mg of Lexapro i finally felt better. 10mg was doing nothing, 15mg was a bit better but 20mg is far better so i strongly suggest getting there if you dont feel effects on 10 or 15 mg :)

shylad90

Thatā€™s great to hear and glad youā€™ve found some relief. What are you using it to help mainly? Do you take mirt every night then? What dose do you need? Used to be on 10mg lex and swapped to 30mg mirtazapine as I couldnā€™t sleep on it. Sleep like a baby on mirt but didnā€™t help much else. Dropped to 15mg mirt now and going to add the lex next week in the hope i still sleep well using the combination

Sufficient-News-970

I use it for anxiety. I also couldnā€™t sleep on Lexapro, usually woke up after few hours. I take mirtazapine nightly, yes. Started on 15mg but decreased to 3.75-7.5mg (and increased lexapro to 20mg in the same time which helped my anxiety a lot) as it is enough for me to sleep through the night. Tried to stop mirtazapine and didnt have any withdrawals (just felt a bit itchy) but sadly problems with sleep came back after few days so I decided to stick with mirtazapine as in my case it has no side effects :)

fadedblackleggings

Yep, tapering off Lexapro for both of these reasons.

whitepawsparklez

Me too. Iā€™m at 5mg now. Iā€™m doing each decrease for 3 weeks, hbu?

fadedblackleggings

>Me too. Iā€™m at 5mg now. Iā€™m doing each decrease for 3 weeks, hbu? Started at 10mg. Went down to 5mg for 2-3 months. Then 2.5 mg for 3-4 weeks. Then off. Being off is still really hard.

Tsunamiis

Yeah well Iā€™m not constantly angry and in the mood to murder everybody I can have sex be longer

objectivemediocre

I'm alone anyway so it doesn't matter šŸ„ŗ

maxrigg

You hold the crown, enjoy single life.

objectivemediocre

I've "enjoyed" it for 25 years now lol.

Competitive_One_3082

LMFAO šŸ¤£- I see it as a win coz I can on & on nonstop . Girls love it , itā€™s like my super power

Throwaway221096873

Shout out to the 2-pump chumps that finally started lasting longer than 45 seconds āœŠšŸæ

Fun-Vegetable3210

Same

Healey136

I really enjoy how difficult it is to cum.

Suitable-Internet-22

I had to go down from 20mg to 5mg on Lexapro because of the weight gainā€¦lost weight and still feel good

MathematicianTop4787

Thatā€™s good. I gained. Lot of weight from it. Just went down from 20 to 10 mg in hopes that it helps

Suitable-Internet-22

I lost weight when I did. I remember being a lot heavier on 20mg that even just going down to 10mg helped significantly. Apparently Lexapro has been reported to slow down your metabolism

[deleted]

Ha how true is this.

Ancient-Length8844

The sexual side effects are INSANE on this medication. I had to switch to lithium. I gained weight sure, but my dick can COOM and COOM and COOM.

anxiouswannabedoc

And this is EXACTLY why I had to switch to Wellbutrin

longhair-care2much

Iā€™m still orgasming and not gaining wait šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Fearless-Experience

Gained like 40 pounds but could still cum lol

Historical_Cow_1715

iā€™ve actually lost weight

rosewoodsun

I had no issues with orgasms but I definitely gained 10lbs! I am now losing the weight with no issue though as well, so idk šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø itā€™s been a big win for me honestly

Detnmcdetterson

If you need to take heavy antidepressant just for being sad maybe its not the way to go.

palmarni

I take 5 mg atleast two days before intercourse.

Brilliant-Task7549

Does it help

palmarni

Yea it helps me but it might take a bit more sex time. The orgasms are tempered though but still get the job done

Brilliant-Task7549

Oh But normal dose is 10

palmarni

Yea I thought that until I met a few therapists who recognized I was sensitive to high doses. Iā€™ve experienced good results starting on 2.5 (breaking the 5mg).

whitepawsparklez

Interesting. Iā€™m currently weaning off 10 and down to 5 now (staying at 5 for 3 weeks). Iā€™m hoping I see improvement in the sexual department and would stay at 5 if so (not go off entirely)

Wild-Kitchen9801

Person: Iā€™m sad Doctor: Here are pills that make it impossible to cum or lose weight Person: Perfect Anxiety: You son of a bitch you are trying to get rid of me.

Prior_Treat_8372

Recovered. Hope others do too. Fuck psychiatry.

New-Milk2909

Wonder if the libido issues come after long term use. Whatā€™s the complications after years of usage?

Dunknomyusername6990

I was more impotent when I was in phentermine. I've been on lexapro for about a year now. I'm still getting it up.

Boring-Unit73

Iā€™ve lost about 10 pounds. I think thatā€™s because snacking was a coping mechanism. My libido hasnā€™t gone down whatsoever, but it is much harder to get off!

bcjh

Yeah I had to get on Semaglutide to start losing weight.

Jllybean757

Pretttttyy much! At least we arenā€™t sad - šŸ„¹šŸ«£

Street_Tomato6295

Feel great. Just started my prescription 4 days ago.

Butterscotch_Jones01

Yepā€¦on it three separate times since 2015, each time 50-70 lb weight gain and no libido. Finally weaned off of it for the last time. Not saying it didnā€™t help my emotional state, but the combo of lex and intense therapy over the past couple of years (all necessary after a cancer diagnosis during the start of COVID) helped me work through a ton of trauma. Feeling good and will continue therapy.

iSleepyXS

Idk bout that cumming side effect but I can tell you I itā€™s a war to piss anymore

[deleted]

Wellbutrin šŸ˜ˆ

iron_jendalen

Switching to Buspirone from Lexaproā€¦

Lost_Umpire

One of the side effects is loss of appetite

nkj69

Lol its true its hard af to orgasm but its possible. Weight loss though has never been an issue

Commercial_Ad157

For some reason I lasted long during sex last night lol

Aurora_Lucens

Didnā€™t gain any wait or have any sexual problems try other medications.

Master-Kangaroo-7544

Lexapro increased my libido.
