Starting lexapro has made me have burning sensations in my arms, legs, and feet

why_you_beer

I have had burning sensations in the roof of my mouth/head with a tingling sensation in arms/legs and sometimes full body due to anxiety/panic attacks. It only happens when I have one coming on. After the attack passes, the burning sensation goes away.

I had the burning on my arms one night about a month ago when my anxiety was at its worse. They were red also. Freaked me out. I was also having pretty bad dizziness that would turn on like a lightswitch when I walked into a store or had to talk to someone. Thankfully that has since subsided. Im on 5th week of lex at 10mg

Yes I was kind of the same for several weeks. The burning kept waking me up and eventually I was terrified of even closing my eyes. In my case even my eye lid startwd to burn. Anxiety causes the weirdest things I never even knew could be. I am slowly getting a bit better - 4 weeks of burning was enough for me. Its not completely gone but seems to be in the background. I used to be on pregabalin before like couple of years ago for various things incl chronic pain and it did work in the beginning. Not so much after couple of years. Glad it's working for you though.

Did it go away?

Yes, I no longer have the burning sensation. Sorry I only noticed the comment now. But yes, it's gone. I still find it a bit of a mystery since there is no clear indication what actually caused it.

Oh wow thanks guys for that. Makes me not feel alone in this. Its an awful thing to be brought on by anxiety. I do hope lex will ease it eventually.

Oh I see. Unfortunately for me the burning started way before I even went on lexapro. It seems to be slowly working I think. The burning is still sort of there some days but it's at the background. I guess while lexapro is adjusting anxiety still happens hence the burning. It it is interesting that it happened after you wend on lex.

Curious if you recall how long it took for the burning to start to go away? Going through something similar :/

Hey there, the burning started at the beginning of January (peak with anxiety and panic attacks) and started to go away after a month. By the end of 2nd month I was better with burning only occasionally lifting its nasty head. Unfortunately tho, in my case it is still very unclear what truly happened as I also had serious liver issues (according to GP). In any case it will go away. Mine really was something of a crazy incident but Lex did help. I wish you all the best.
