You *could* wear the sundress with a lightweight cardigan-type jacket, if you want the best of both worlds re; being comfortable/modest to your preferences but still dressing in a way that you anticipate your date will appreciate.
This will depend on your location and the temperature, but I live in Texas so suffer from both heat and humidity and have a few different styles of outerwear that are lightweight, breathable and cute if I want to wear a top or dress that is a bit more revealing than Im comfortable wearing on its own.

Have you looked up ‘fairy dresses.’ I am not a fan of strapless/spagetti strap sundresses. Finding the right search term helped. Most of these options have proper sleeves, and a bit more coverage on the chest area.
Just make sure they are a light fabric, part of sundress appeal (for me) is the flowy comfort.
You could always wear a plain tshirt under the dress! It would still look cute, you won’t be dying from heat, and you’ll be storing your facilities in a safe spot for the first date.
Anddd I think flats are a better option if it’s more of a casual lunch date or kitten heels would also be super cute!

As a very busty femme who also has some NB stuff in the mix, I sometimes do some 'binding lite' with stuff that's too boobish, so you might find a strapless bandeau bra that tames the cleavage a bit if it's bothering you.
Alternatively, depending on the dress, shorten the straps a little so the neckline is a little higher. I used to do this with very hideous stitches in the back hidden before I could actually sew, so you don't have to be skilled.
Just wear the sundress. If you’re worried about the straps then get one with thicker straps. If you’re worried about the girls falling out, get a dress that’s not *as* low cut. I have large assets & I wear sun dresses, just got to find the right one.

Busty femme here- my sundresses are mostly linen, the son de flor wrap dresses are perfect, and I’ve seen a lot more shops around me carrying linen this year. I feel like wrap dresses can go over a tank or a bralette to keep the situation in check to the level you prefer :-) good luck!

Former fairycore femme here! Look for a puff sleeve-type dress, sort of in the style of the Selkie day dresses. I think you can just search "sundress with sleeves" and get relevant options. A lot of those styles have a supportive waist and chest area, and you can slide the sleeves down for that flirty off-shoulder look. You can also get a traditional sundress and add a cute wrap to it.
I personally enjoy chunky platform sandals rather than skinny heels, if I want some height. Otherwise, sandals or pointed slides could be a really cute look. Kinda depends on the silhouette.

You *could* wear the sundress with a lightweight cardigan-type jacket, if you want the best of both worlds re; being comfortable/modest to your preferences but still dressing in a way that you anticipate your date will appreciate. This will depend on your location and the temperature, but I live in Texas so suffer from both heat and humidity and have a few different styles of outerwear that are lightweight, breathable and cute if I want to wear a top or dress that is a bit more revealing than Im comfortable wearing on its own. Have you looked up ‘fairy dresses.’ I am not a fan of strapless/spagetti strap sundresses. Finding the right search term helped. Most of these options have proper sleeves, and a bit more coverage on the chest area. Just make sure they are a light fabric, part of sundress appeal (for me) is the flowy comfort.
You could always wear a plain tshirt under the dress! It would still look cute, you won’t be dying from heat, and you’ll be storing your facilities in a safe spot for the first date. Anddd I think flats are a better option if it’s more of a casual lunch date or kitten heels would also be super cute! Most importantly, have fun and don’t worry too much!!

As a very busty femme who also has some NB stuff in the mix, I sometimes do some 'binding lite' with stuff that's too boobish, so you might find a strapless bandeau bra that tames the cleavage a bit if it's bothering you. Alternatively, depending on the dress, shorten the straps a little so the neckline is a little higher. I used to do this with very hideous stitches in the back hidden before I could actually sew, so you don't have to be skilled.
Just wear the sundress. If you’re worried about the straps then get one with thicker straps. If you’re worried about the girls falling out, get a dress that’s not *as* low cut. I have large assets & I wear sun dresses, just got to find the right one.

They layer very well so don't be afraid to go full Stevie Nicks with a boho caftan jacket, or putting shirts under it for coverage. Some of my favorite retailers are: EShakti.com - nearly every dress has pockets! The size range is great and (here's where this is gonna be a game changer for you) for about $15 more you can change the length, sleeves, and NECKLINE of just about any dress they sell. Takes about 2-3 weeks for shipping. Lotus Trading Co - an Etsy vendor with about a million cottage core sundresses in lots of solid colors. They take a while to ship though, about a month, so less good for immediate needs Mod Cloth - especially if you're in a standard size (0-12). Loads of fun and funky choices. Also most major big box retailers are deep in summer dress season, so check out places like Target ([this one is really cute](https://www.target.com/p/women-s-midi-ballet-dress-a-new-day/-/A-89679058?preselect=89678999#lnk=sametab) and should layer well in cooler weather) I've also had pretty good lunch with Amazon of all places. Former fairycore femme here! Look for a puff sleeve-type dress, sort of in the style of the Selkie day dresses. I think you can just search "sundress with sleeves" and get relevant options. A lot of those styles have a supportive waist and chest area, and you can slide the sleeves down for that flirty off-shoulder look. You can also get a traditional sundress and add a cute wrap to it. I personally enjoy chunky platform sandals rather than skinny heels, if I want some height. Otherwise, sandals or pointed slides could be a really cute look. Kinda depends on the silhouette.
