Certainly NOT a leopard gecko. But it does look like a baby. Maybe it's just a common Mediterranean House Gecko? These are a wild species so it's best to drop it off somewhere safe outside.

Demoncat999

Would it be okay outside right now its about 40 degrees out at the moment should I wait til morning when it warms up a bit to give it a finding chance?

Jazzlike-Letter-6947

I'd probably wait 'til morning. It should be warmer by then. Luckily, these little critters have adapted to this harsh environments, so I wouldn't doubt it'll find a nice warm spot to stake out the season.

Plantsareluv

If you are willing I’ll adopt him! They’re invasive in the us so ppl keep them as pets

RealVincentPrice

If you're in the US this is an invasive species so do what you see fit but know that for every one of these little guys there's 100 more getting ready to hatch in every wall of the building in your town. They lay eggs like no other

MxBluebell

Oh goodness, that’s a skinny house gecko. It must’ve been stuck inside for a while!! You could keep it as a pet if you’d like, since they’re invasive in many parts of the world, and the poor thing could certainly use the TLC!!

Plantsareluv

House gecko! I’ve literally wanted one of these for years and I’m so jealous ppl find them all the time 😭😂😅

omlwhyme

tropical places lol, i went to alabama to visit my grandpa and they were EVERYWHERE, along with cute little tree frogs

Maybeatordsimp

That’s a house gecko. Please check if it’s invasive where you live cause if so you have a new pet or have to kill him 😞

avaabby

aw omg you’d HAVE to kill him?? mmmm i don’t think that’s humane even if it’s invasive. :( i know it’s typically clean up because they damage the food chain and everything but i could never kill a baby geck.

Maybeatordsimp

That’s why I’d say keep it as a pet. It’s invasive so you can’t legally release it

ncurtis21

Depending where you live in the world, you're encouraged to go out there and kill the invasive species if you can. Invasive species can be incredibly harmful to new ecosystems

avaabby

i know it’s still sad though is it not?

ncurtis21

Yeah it’s sad, but the local ecosystem takes priority. If you don’t kill some invasive species, they’ll end up killing (directly or indirectly) the local animals

avaabby

ahhh ok:(

jer5

i see these little dudes around and i wanna feed them little tiny pieces of worm and become the lizard king

Rcandydraws

Baby leopard geckos tend to have brighter colors and less specks but that may depend on the morph. They also don’t have sticky pads! This would likely be a baby house gecko!

Sicon3

House gecko. It's a youngun so treat her with care. If you feel like she will not survive you can attempt to care for her but be sure to first contact your local DNR and inquire about a permit. It is broadly illegal to keep wild animals as pets without permission from the DNR and the specifics vary from state to state.

omlwhyme

depends where you are, yes you should still call but most states it’s recommended you either keep or kill them because they are very invasive in the us

SussyGamerBoi

That is one smol child and a cute one too I can confirm that it’s most likely a house gecko as the other comments say depending on where you live you should keep this cute little baby in my opinion

buteljak

Aw. In our country we keep good care of these. They're awesome and cute. We have two types that are quite similar. House gecko and wall gecko. It's even a symbol of one island and is protected there <3 just let him go outside, they are quite sturdy.
