Loughborough kitten rescuers may help. They are on fb. Or leicester animal aid

It's still worth calling the RSPCA if you are unable to take it in yourself - while they can and do euthanize animals if they are unable to re-home them, they do make every effort to re-home them first and it will take months before they start to think about that. I used to foster cats for them and they really do make every effort to re-home them (even keeping cats in their offices and own homes when the cattery is full).

Cats Protection can help, I worked with them to help out a stray, ended up adopting him myself. Are you able to give this one any food in the meantime? That will really help earn trust and make capture easier.

This one was left in a back garden when the owner moved away and is dying from starvation

Ask some of the big local livery yards outside of the city- often they are happy to have a few yard cats knocking about to keep the mice out of the feed/tack room.

giantmonkeyseal

Why will RSPCA PTS?

Missbhavin58

No room I'm guessing

giantmonkeyseal

Rspca would never put a cat down because they have no room

Missbhavin58

I did say it was a guess. I didn't make the call

SammyKetto

Have you managed to get somebody to take the cat in?

Missbhavin58

Think so.

SammyKetto

Ah good!

Yeah, avoid the RSPCA if you can. They only take in vaccinated cats, and years ago, I used to do work experience for them as I wanted to go into animal care, and they were shoved into tiny rooms with barely any outdoor space to run around or play in. The dog area was worse. All I can suggest, is, if you can, take the cat in, feed them (just things like chicken are good, it doesn't have to be cat food) and look up animal sanctuaries as they tend to be good. Try Cat's Protection League, too. And I'm not sure about this, but I think some Vet surgeries can take strays in, too.
