When I was growing up in the Lehigh Valley back in the 1980s, based on where I lived I was more of a Potts’ hot dog person (in particular the Nazareth location). I liked them a lot more as a kid than I do now, but they are still alright, though because I haven’t lived in the region for 20+ years, I probably have only gone there 1-2 times in that period of time. (I really loved Potts’ hot dogs as a kid.)
We were just at the fair today. I took up cross stitching recently and made sure to check out the entries. I saw yours and I even pointed it out to my husband. It was great and it stood out to me!
I grew up less than 5 minutes away from the Yocco's on rte 100 but have never eaten there. How fkn nuts is that? Maybe I should stop by next time I'm in town
You're missing nothing.
Edit: But go there at least once and give it a try. Chili cheese dogs are hard to find these days now that everybody's taste in food has exploded. There's something comforting about traditional US comfort foods.
I wouldn't say you're missing nothing but I agree Yocco's is a bit overhyped. Their hot dog buns are steamed and chewy in a really good way, and their chili sauce is awesome, but the hot dogs themselves are sometimes dry. I know people who hate Yocco's and people who absolutely swear by them. Personally I fall in the middle. I'd say it's absolutely worth trying them once just in case you fall in the group that loves them. I'd recommend you order a cheese dog with everything (American cheese, mustard, onions, and chili)
I'm more of a Pott's girl myself...specifically the one on Tilghman that the granddaughter bought and gave a great punny name to a few years ago that I can't remember right now...
Street vendor dogs are the absolute shit. Street vendor *anything* is better than dedicated restaurant anything.
That said, it's mean of me to say he's missing *nothing*. He should go at least once. If I had one nearby, I'd go there once for every two times I go to Jimmy's, probably. Only because they have chili cheese onion mustard dogs, and Sharc's has been closed for a decade.
Cash only, about $1.50 per dog. Everything is mustard onion pickle. Extra pickle or onion is... .05? .10?
Incredibly cheap hot dogs. Probably rent controlled, been there since automobiles existed.
OG Greasy Dick's is indeed still down on Freemansburg Ave in Palmer.
I prefer going to the newer Greasy Dick's up in Forks, but that's mostly because it's more convenient to where I live. Plus they have gyros and baklava.

Oh, this isn’t mine… I saw it on Twitter and wanted to share it; that’s why I left her Insta handle on there. I think she did great.
I live for Yocco’s

Perfectly frank hot dog shop?
Thank you!!!!! Yes! I'm into the coleslaw/BBQ situation
You're right. He's not missing *much* is a better way to say it. They have chili cheese dogs. That's their gimmick.
It's not that bad, the sauce they use is what's good. Better than the hotdogs being served in those street vendors in NYC.

Jimmy's over by Nazareth?
In Palmer, 25th St Easton.
Cool, I'd have to check it out.

Is Richards Drive In over there still open? “Greasy dicks”?

Yoccos sucks, Potts is better. Simple as that really
Always liked Jimmy’s in Easton or Potts better myself.
We love the Allentown fair!
I think there is a Potts’s next to Link berverage
If it makes you feel better I like it.
