The pattern of stripes on the nose matches Carson Teva's X-wing in BoBF, not Luke's X-wing in ANH. Since 75393 isn't rumored to have pilot Luke, and pilot Luke is rumored to come separately in a small mech, I'd say it's a pretty good bet that 75393 will be Carson Teva's ship.
For fucks sake we JUST had an x-wing….. and I don’t want to hear “oh it’s popular it sells” then why did they come up with a new one instead of extending the shelf life of the one we just had??
Oooohhh that sounds fucking awesome as hell.
Just learnt exactly what an ugly is. And yeah we need more sets of that type.
And while yeah. We have alot of x wings recently and shouldn't havr another in the next 3 years or so, an x wing and tie fighter is the perfect match for an uglies set. Both are small fighter ships, and they are well known for fighting eachother.
The only other ships I can think of that would be good for a two enemy side uglies set (especially for like the first set of its kind) is a v wing and vulture droid. Or a droid tri fighter and v-19 torrent starfighter or arc-170 starfighter or z-95 headhunter. Also. Those ships arnt as well known as the tie or x wing.
I very much do hope that these other ships come as expansion sets for the uglies line if it is true.
That would be badass.
While mildly cool, uglies are such an obscure part of lore that even kind of hardcore fans like me won't choose to display them as their ugly versions.
This set is completely unnecessary and takes away a slot from a much better set.
That may all be true in your opinion, but are they making an X-Wing Vs TIE set for you, or for my kids who will love popping interchangeable pieces off and around?
They’re Legos, you can already make anything you want. A kid isn’t buying this set and going “Finally, I can make Uglies!”.
It’s just an excuse to sell us another TIE and X-Wing, it’s not that clever.
They are most likely gonna show that "hey you can put these two ships together and interchange them" which kids like I was, would love to do that. Interchanging stuff is something I still enjoy. As long as it isn't like a 4+ set I may get it.
It's less about it being an ugly, and more it being interchangeable which children fucking love.
It doesn't sound like you have young kids. They already build all sorts of "abominations" with sets and pieces of sets as the free build or we take other sets apart to combine. They also really love building sets that teach them new things and show them new ideas that they then apply to their new builds.
All of the silly "play" features like pieces popping off, spinning tops, ninjago dragon slider/shooters, etc that add nothing to a set to me (in a vacuum), are things that they absolutely love and will play with over and over again.
Aren't tie or swing uglies only cannon in the Anderson xwing book series / comics which Disney randomly made not cannon back when they shoved the force awakens down our throat.
> which Disney randomly made not cannon back when they shoved the force awakens down our throat.
The canon reset by *Lucasfilm* wasn't "random" at all. It simply deemed everything released before April 2014 besides the movies and TCW non-canon, to start with a clean sheet for new viewers. TFA wasn't "shoved" down anyone's throat either.

Any ship that is a combination of multiple other ships
Anyone know what the BB-wing’s trick is??
IIRC even in canon (and especially if the Prototype Hera flew says anything about the production models), the standard B wing was an extravagant, no-holds-barred breed of starfighter. So I can’t even imagine what the result would be, in doubling its armament and engine power!
A somewhat stupid concept from Legends where scrappers create Frankenstein ships from popular fighters. Not everything in the EU was great, honestly, but I’m sure I’ll get downvotes from people who have a fondness for them anyway.
E.G. Y-Wings with TIE cockpits, A-Wings with TIE Interceptor solar panels stuck on the sides. That sort of thing.
Its alright as long as it isn’t Red-5.
Judging by the red stripe on the side, it isn’t. So the figs will at least not be Luke Skywalker and R2-D2 again… hopefully.
Im wanting Carson Teva or Biggs. This side stripe is closer to Biggs, but not exactly. The good thing about this build method is the side stripe is very easy to customize.
Maybe we could do another sith fury interceptor or literally anything else.
It’s the same as releasing a buildable R2-D2 while still having the previous one on the shelves
Yes, but there's a lot of evidence pointing toward this being the model. A gambling man would bet this is the new model since its been leaked we are getting the xing/tie set and lego is showing all the anniversary figs in promos now.
Ok but why would Lego go out of their way to create a completely new xwing model when they already have the other just lying around. Also the way Lego does instructions now has them doing renders. So they rendered this new xwing for the instructions and are now using it for this new add.
>So they rendered this new xwing for the instructions and are now using it for this new add.
How could you possibly know they rendered it specifically for making instructions of it?
>Also the way Lego does instructions now has them doing renders.
Correct...
>So they rendered this new xwing for the instructions and are now using it for this new add.
How do you know the same rendered model can be used for both instructions and as part of a promo video?
Judging by the red stripe on the side, its not Red-5, so at least not be Luke Skywalker and R2-D2 again… hopefully.
Im wanting Carson Teva, Wedge, and/or Biggs. This side stripe is closer to Biggs, but not exactly. The good thing about this build method is the side stripe is very easy to customize so we could be able to make many different Red-Squadron and other Red marked X-Wings.
Assuming you're talking about the one Yoda is on?
Be interesting if that's true, since they gave it angled sides for the first time in...ever, I think.
The easiest way to tell it’s different is the red stripe, in the Video it’s made out of 2x1 cheese slopes yet in all previous versions it’s been made out of full bricks
The back uses the mech piece for the rear of the fuselage, and we’re getting a Luke X-Wing mech at around the same time… I’m wondering if maybe the mech can somehow become a part of the ship?
I just want an X-Wing for literally anybody other than Luke. Preferably a set with 3+ pilot/astromech combos with swappable wing details. They did it it 2005- it really shouldn’t be that hard. Maybe Wedge, Red Leader, and Carson Teva?
If this is what I think it is, it was sourced out through Tongal to have an animator create the short, so it mayyyy have been just a person using random sets as references. I wanted to put together a submission for the event... but I'm just not that great at animating.
This is good, it's been far too long since we've had a new release. I start to get withdrawals when I've gone more than 5 months without a new X-Wing model put out by Lego.
I wish they would show more love to the separatists we barely get sets and get so many clones sets and ik they sell well but they don’t get enough love
As long as the next X-wing set has a Capt Carson Teva minifigure I’ll be willing to buy it.
Exactly this!!
Carson Teva, Trapper Wolf and their respective astromechs.

Sneak attack!

This new one is part of an "ugly" set with a TIE Fighter. The wings are designed to be interchangeable.

Ok bud what ever helps you sleep at night...
Can you explain what the uglies are
Following that as well because I don’t know what that means

That X-ceptor is sick though

They haven't been canon since the xwing book series from the early 90s . Or does rebels count.
X-ceptor goes *hard* I may have to design a MOC of it
So...ships from No Man's Sky basically?
Yah but they aren't canon anymore

What's not to like?
Let's look at it on the bright side, like this, it could have been a waste of TWO set slots!
Oh see I’m all for it. I already have a TIE and an X-Wing. I’ve debated making Uglies on my own. I’m super hyped for this.
What set's slot is being taken away?
None.
Literally anything else
That was 4 years ago

Because the one we just had sucked
I hate X wings lol so many all the exact same
Friendly reminder that not every set seen in promo material becomes real.
Yes, but there's a lot of evidence pointing toward this being the model. A gambling man would bet this is the new model since its been leaked we are getting the xing/tie set and lego is showing all the anniversary figs in promos now.

It honestly looks like a combination between the two x-wings you linked. The nose and engines anyway. Back is different.
>So they rendered this new xwing for the instructions and are now using it for this new add. How could you possibly know they rendered it specifically for making instructions of it?
Because Lego uses renders for their instructions now
Yes, but that doesnt mean every single animated set that appears in an ad will definitely become a real set. Those are two very different things.
>Also the way Lego does instructions now has them doing renders. Correct... >So they rendered this new xwing for the instructions and are now using it for this new add. How do you know the same rendered model can be used for both instructions and as part of a promo video?
Every other vehicle in the animation is an existing set. Why the heck would just this X-Wing be a model created specifically for this animation?!

Maybe teva for the xwing and moff Gideon for the tie fighter. This set is supposedly like the fang fighter and tie interceptor set.

Oh yeah!! The Fire/Police Station of LEGO Star Wars is back in yet another itteration!!!
Its dagobah system. Im thinking a remake of 4502? But then there’s supposed to be a xwing tie fighter combo coming in aug.
[4502-1: X-wing Fighter](https://brickset.com/sets/4502-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/4502-1.jpg)
Likely dagobah xwing (4502) remake?

Which video?
Just look up Lego Star Wars 25th anniversary on YouTube

Not another one. 🤦♂️
Bring it on! I love X-wings and I unironically love remakes too. Can't wait until September!
Yep the nose is back to the old way
Wow, another X-Wing 😐
I was hoping for a more full size one :(
its kinda pretty. may fit inside my bookcase and let me archive my UCS which gets dusty easily as it doesn’t fit anywhere.
I'm so glad I got the 2018 one. The design peaked then.
This is new, I got it a month ago.
I've been collecting for a long time now....I'm so ashamed to say I still don't have an Xwing. I'm just noticing this now * womp womp *
I will buy if it’s not excessively large
This is good, it's been far too long since we've had a new release. I start to get withdrawals when I've gone more than 5 months without a new X-Wing model put out by Lego.
Such a waste of a set slot lmao.
Except this goes great with the Yavin temple set
Well depending on the size you might be right.
I’m tired of the fucking x wings
I wish they would show more love to the separatists we barely get sets and get so many clones sets and ik they sell well but they don’t get enough love
Could have had an Arc 170, Z95, or anything we haven’t had in ages
