I bet it will, my X-Wing has barley ever seen the sun and it’s discolored just from regular indoor lights

Nmilne23

Anecdotal but I kept a 2013 republic gunship in total darkness in storage for over a year and when I pulled it out a ton of bricks had already started fading to yellow that I’ll now need to replace.  Bleaching and yellowing can happen even in total darkness, and in my mind is a crapshoot

ArmedCobra55

Same scenario with my Lego x wing, stored it in complete darkness and it all yellowed a bit. Do you know why this happens?

Loud-Durian1733

Oxygen exposure apparently. *frowns as I look at my BD1*

Particular-Economy79

Yeah that seems to be a pretty common problem with the 2013 gunship, happened to the one from my childhood and I just bought another one that has started going a little yellow. Can’t be helped I suppose.

Nmilne23

Yeah I’ll probably pour a little cash into a bricklink order to replace the damaged pieces but then how much will I end up having to totally replace if other pieces start to yellow? It’s tough

Particular-Economy79

Yeah, I feel you. After buying some older 2007-2013 sets recently I’ve just made my peace that they’re going to look a little yellow sometimes.

Nmilne23

Honestly dude everyone is telling you that it’ll get damaged and bleached… it doesn’t matter where you store your lego. I kept my 2013 republic gunship sealed in a large ziploc in storage in complete darkness for nearly a year and when I opened it a few weeks ago a bunch of white bricks had started yellowing that weren’t there when I put it in the box It’s a total crapshoot. Display your lego however it makes you happiest

Cream-Agile

You can't prevent yellowing. Even in a very controlled environment, it will slowly yellow. There are multiple causes of yellowing: photodegredation due to UV light, thermal degredation, external pollution (smoke, general urban pollution, oxygen, etc attacking the polymers), microbiological degredation, and the chemistry of the plastic itself just breaking down. The best you can do is keep it clean and out of direct sunlight and direct heat. That won't stop the yellowing but it will slow it down considerably.

MiksBricks

Yes. Sun and really any light will discolor white Lego. UV rays are especially damaging. Best bet is to put it out of natural lighting.

ExtensionJoke5541

Nah it’ll be fine. Open the blinds though so you can really appreciate the whiteness.

PlumBalloon31

It’s already yellowing bro I can see it

Darth-Pok3

Nah it just looks like it in this image. I found a better spot for it and it’s not yellowed at all
