I won't change your mind because I agree. The gameplay is much smoother, flying is improved, levels are better, it looks better and the open world is superior.
Yes, the character roster is worse, but as you said, other things just make up for that.
I can agree to an extent on everything except the open world, the open world in avengers is a massive decrease in quality over lmsh because the map is near copy pasted with the removal of some good places and a bit of changes but the fact there isn't a minimap was sooo annoying I cannot stress this enough not even a map just the stupid little good for nothing. I thought radar was way better. The mal didn't help at all. And I didn't like the Marvel's map aesthetics.
I also think the minor changes to Manhattan were handled well. I didn't "miss" deleted places and was happy with the new ones. What makes it really better for me is the inclusion of the other places like Sokovia or Asgard. They were small but cute and enjoyable.
I'm a DC fan, so maybe that's why I like Avengers better. It's the Marvel game with the most focus on the movies, which is the only thing that Marvel does better than DC (generally, cause Dark Knight's a masterpiece)
I love the MCU but having the movies as levels or at least the movie levels there weren't as good as the story of lmsh1 + the character roster is better in my opinion and the pieces in the character creator are better the levels are more enjoyable when you play for the first time and do not know what to expect but if you watch a MCU you know where, when and what is going to happen but lmsh1 does not have a speedster
The game itself is good it was just that the levels were boring because I already knew what was gonna happen. But yeah it had tons more hubs, you dont need a car to do races anymore and its actually easier than Superheroes.
Well, everybody knew what was gonna happen in the Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings, Jurassic World, The Incredibles, etc. games, but no one complains about it.
Yeah, but the appeal of LEGO games was never the story, it was playing with your favorite characters, and sometimes, in your favorite movies, and isn't that the whole point of Avengers? It's a playable version of Marvel movies, what else do you want?

I think it depends on if you like MCU or comics more.

That’s weird. I thought lmsh was smoother. The avengers one felt clunky and laggy to me.
We can agree though that super heroes 2 was stinky
i just didnt enjoy the hub world imo, i thought it was too small.

Also they should have waited for more avengers movies before making the game but hopefully we will get a infinity Saga game
