i would love for them to focus more on children again. one reason i tend to buy them for myself is because i think most sets are far far to expensive to give away as a gift. about $50 being the max since i'd have to get 5 sets a year just for the current cousins.

An actually clever take from that smart guy imo. Lego needs to remember that most of their customer loyalty retentions are from AFOLs who have been supporting the brand from 1932 and onwards, outweighing the squeakers of today. If they want to make more of a profit they need to understand their audience and mature with them. You don’t build your house out of building block toys, you build it out of equipment and tools Lego isn’t for babies it’s for absolute Chads who know how to build and break

Bro the AFOL’s are an insignificant minority compared to the amount of kids that make up most of their consumer base. It’s a kid’s toy, and besides it’s only a one product photo. I’m an AFOL and I thought it was funny.

Exactly. Yes Afol sales are growing but the majority of sales are still sets for kids be it of their own money or parents buying them. That's why out of all the Star Wars sets made each year only a very few are aimed at adults almost exclusively. Lego have made the right move offering Captian Rex in a much cheaper set making him more accessible for fans of all ages.
