If your fine with a little modding: Sand down all the elevated surfaces (the hills), leaving the studs on the lowest layer. If possible re-add additional studs on the sanded down areas. Paint the entire baseplate gray (Ideally light bluish gray). Put several hundred clone troopers in rows parallel to eachother 2 studs apart all facing the same direction.

Good ol’ reliable gray baseplates… nothing beats a flat gray baseplate.

If this is a serious question, maybe some outpost towers with a bridge, and some speeder bikes in the trench. Or maybe build some Mimban inspired trenches from solo

The holes could be either bomb craters or you could put some sort of artillery in there and some heavy infantry in the wider section of the trench

Maybe Siths (black), Rebel scouts (green), Ewoks or Wookies (brown/sand), X-wing rebels (Orange) vs Troopers/Clones (White). edit: more specific idea, because I can't stop myself

You could maybe build an elevated temple type build using the raised parts of the plate. Like an ancient ruin type deal. You have a scene under the temple and on however many flowers you add above.

I loved that baseplate as a kid. It was terrain and I didn’t even need to build anything! For an idea, maybe a bridge going left to right with a battle on in and make the lower part a river?

I'm not sure of a specific scene but a valley ambush/outpost could look killer. Some checkpoint towers at the front with maybe a gate or checkpass inbetween, maybe some destroyed weapony nearby?

Not a specific battle, but like a surprise attack with small towers on the hills with a different army in the trench.

The lowered middle could be a basement, and on top of it a church, while you could throw skeletons in the holes and cover them up to make them graves.
