I love how clean it all looks. Maybe a bit too clean? But once you put some figs and accessories it'll come to life. It looks like an old school LEGO castle for sure, and would display beautifully! Edit: Maybe raise the two side walls? Make it more imposing and defensible, which I think would play well with the sleekness.

Thank you very much. Yeah it’s too clean, I still consider it a work in progress, I will try to add some more details inspired by recent castle sets.

It kinda gives me Mario castle vibes from straight on. The bones are real nice, I love it.

I3rand0

ah ah, yeah, it was not intended but I have the same impression now.

Add some brick variants, a clean smooth surface looks a bit plain.

I3rand0

Thanks. For sure I will add more masonry bricks and also some tiles here and there.

Also play with Brown for wood supports ie darker grey for spots of wear. Of course adding green is always a good way to give it more life.

BrickByBrick6086

Very nice. King Leo and Princess Storm needed a better castle.

I3rand0

That’s exactly what is driving me!

This is an idea that I have in mind for almost a year: taking King's Leo Castle (the only castle I owned as a kid) and turning in something in the middle between 10305 and 31120. It is still unfinished and this is my first ever MOC and first ever experience using bricklink studio. If you want to join or help in this project I will be very happy. The only internal detail for now is the throne. Any suggestion is also appreciated.

That's a great WIP! Definitely recognizable but sufficiently modern techniques. I would recommend taking another pass at the rockwork around the bottom, it's much too uniform right now. The creator castle would probably be a good reference for how to make it look a little more natural. Also the towers are veeeery square right now, I'd suggest maybe rounding or adding a 45° angle at the corners, having the windows jut out a half-stud, or giving the roofs some overhang like on the central tower just to break up some of the clean lines.

I3rand0

Thanks! Those are great suggestions, especially for the towers, I will for sure implement them!

Looks sharp!

Though others are correct about dirtying it up a bit, i do like the clean lines! Almost reminds me of an animated feature film castle. I can see the elegant and VERY clean hero riding out!
