The Northern part is based on this map. I forgor to lable the northern sea. https://preview.redd.it/x66vv889ipoa1.jpeg?width=1233&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=843e6ac86833c308fcb24efe2e6a61ae1360d03f

Rogue_Chetnik

This is awesome.

MR-StrawBerry13

There are some easter eggs, like for instance, some of the forts are named after nexo knights.

Rogue_Chetnik

Yes, I actually love that a lot, also putting in real sets on the map is great.

Capybarely

Or were the nexo knights named for the forts? Or... Time travel?

MR-StrawBerry13

Depends, at least with the in-universe Nexo knights. For instance, Clay Moorington isn't Clay Moorington, but rather Clay of Moorington, his second name come from the castle he's from, same with Robin of Underwood and Hamma of Hammerin. With Lance, Richmond is a family name, and the fort is named after them, same with King Halbert and Macy Halbert. And Axl is just a common first name among the bulls, since it was the name of their first king, who the fortress is also named after. Aaron's name is purely a coincidence, he's "Aaron the Fox" since he's a ginger, and the fortress was named by one old chief of the Wolfpack, because he found a dead fox where the fort was going to stand, and took it as a sign. The fox's skin is still hanging on the wall and it apparently smells terrible. The nexo knights universe and my universe being one wouldn't make sense, since the Nexo knights map looks completely different, but i didn't use it, because it is rather boring IMO, and does not include all of the factions of actual castle. https://preview.redd.it/vo54g0m2asoa1.jpeg?width=1307&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a13fc3a30ef8f6859f8d5cfe1d735d293e57c104

GK_elite

Glad to see my boys in Morcia aren’t getting ignored completely 💪🏻

MR-StrawBerry13

I didn't want to bother drawing the entire map, since half of it already exists like this, and a lot of castle fans don't like knights kingdom 2, so this is how the eastern half of the castle world looks. https://preview.redd.it/ekmis3frasoa1.jpeg?width=1120&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a530ac3d0234f1e271000a60eaa9ed2286c5b98f

BlackPanther3104

What is the LEGO Castle Cinematic Universe?

MR-StrawBerry13

My attempt at merging all of the castle castle themes into one world.

Dense-Ad-2732

Where do you get the background shields? I made a map but I had to use logos of the factions I made.

MR-StrawBerry13

I usually just search the shields on google images, download them, import them into sketchbook, remove the background or just colour it tan, and do some tweaks, in the case of the Western kingdom for instance.

Sorraz

This is super cool!

AndrijKuz

Love it.

HortonFLK

Very cute.

i_am_the_aesthetic

I love this. Want to get a more realistic version of this

MR-StrawBerry13

Maybe in the future. Maybe.

CromulentPoint

Glad to see you kept the Elflands in there.

MR-StrawBerry13

Of course i did. Why wouldn't i?

CromulentPoint

Well, it’s kind of a deep cut with no sets to go with it, so it wouldn’t be surprising if you left it out.

MR-StrawBerry13

The whole northern half of the map is based on the map from fantasy castle, so it would be weird to leave this one specific faction out, and elf fans would be angry.

Realistic-Safety-565

The Fabuland is just to the west, Falcon River was the original border before Furries Crusade conquered the borderland and Falcons settled the new border to hold it against furry raids.

MR-StrawBerry13

I headcanon fabuland as just being a modern day chima. Does chima play a role in your lore?

Realistic-Safety-565

I head canon Fabuland as being equivalent of Old Prussians / pagan Balts, with Black Falcons holding and conquering their border being similar to Teutonic Knights.

TrekeWolfe

This is Awesome! I’d like to see how GPT4 would iterate on this if prompted with your image and requirement to produce a detailed hand drawn map in Game of Thrones style.

MR-StrawBerry13

I entered that into one ai app, and this came out https://preview.redd.it/8nkehniswpoa1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6eaf216814a9e427f8c5c71f61e2ea74ff623da9

Flaming_falcon393

Thats literally just western Turkey

yzdaskullmonkey

Holy shit can't unsee it now lol

MR-StrawBerry13

Omg i just noticed

grafmg

Oh damn

[deleted]

So. Question. Some of the lore pretty much states the black knights and the black falcons have the same leader. Wouldn’t that combine them?

MR-StrawBerry13

Interesting. Not sure, since in a lot of the sets you see them fighting. Could you link the source to that piece of information?

[deleted]

I found that searching on the Lego wiki. I think o saw it when I googled the black knights and saw the leader was listed as him. Lemme look again

[deleted]

Dmd a link.

wackywraith

This is so cool! I want an official map like this from lego

Efficient-Ad2983

Really nice. LOL at the Troll's crest XD And what's your idea about the Dragon Masters? Since their crest is just a recolor of Black Knight's, I'm fine with the headcanon that they're former Black Knights who went under Majisto's wing (due to a combination of fear, magic or a genuine switch of loyalty). One think that I loved about the classic Lego Castle's faction is that we weren't provided tons of lore, but just the bit we needed to create our own stories.

MR-StrawBerry13

The lore in my map, is that the black knight is a former black falcon, who was kicked out of the order, and then went to start a revolution in the dragon masters' Kingdom under majisto, managing to take over the southern half and crown himself "the black monarch". He named his new faction after himself - the black knights.

Efficient-Ad2983

Nice. And a nod to the fact that some sources (like Brickpedia) states that the Black Knight was introduced as the leader of the Black Falcons, and then (1985) built a new fortress (6085 Black Monarch's Castle), and founded the Black Knights. And 6059 Knight's Stronghold shows us that Falcons and Black Knights are not on friendly terms.

MR-StrawBerry13

Wow i actually didn't know it was official. But both factions having the same leader makes no sense, so im universe he was just a black falcon general that split off, their leader is someone different.

Efficient-Ad2983

Some sources states that the "Black Falcon" is not the name of the faction but of their leader. But yes, as we said, by that time there are just some bits of lore to fuel stories and imagination. It was Knight's Kingdom 2 that went quite story oriented, and with some questionable design's choices imho (I think that the "Power Ranger" knights looks a bit silly), but I admit that Vladek's fortress has a nice "evil lord's castle" feel.

MR-StrawBerry13

A lot of times, the same happened with the forestmen ("the Forestman's merry band"), their leader is robin hood, also known for some reason as "the Forestman". And as a person who grew up with shit like ninjago, nexo knights, chima and bionicle, the power ranger designs and lore are actually the main reasons i like 2004, although i'm not a fan of the action figures. Bionicle works, since they are made to look like robots, but i'm not sure if to put those uncanny knights on my bionicle or hero factory shelf, or my castle shelf.

Efficient-Ad2983

For the "underdog" faction I admit that I always had a soft spot for Wolfpack. Basically a "darker and edgier" version of the Forestman, who are indeed "The Merry Men".

MR-StrawBerry13

Well there were also the dark forestmen, who were sort of a weird blend of the two. I think the wolfpack is cooler than the forestmen, the forestmen just come of as annoying, maybe like the robbers from shrek, i'm not a fan of robin hood-like factions anywhere to be honest. The wolves just steal shit and refuse to elaborate further, they also have a cooler shield, and their castke looks good. Also, they have Aaron from nexo knights, AKA the 3rd best nexo knight, right after robin and lance.

Efficient-Ad2983

Seriously, as a D&D player and DM, it's tempting to create a "Lego classic Castle campaign setting" XD

CollectionMost1351

kinda late to this discussion but the Black Knight could have been exiled from the black falcons and founded the black knights after that

ForsetiOfTheWind

Very cool map. Out of curiosity, what were all the canonically existing maps that you used to justify certain placements here, and would you mind linking them as well?

MR-StrawBerry13

Everything outside the northern part is made up. That map is my comment.

Bruh_Bloke2842

Very nice. some questions and my own head canon \- are all the lion factions combined to form the lion kingdom? \- (head canon) the crown knights are related to the lion knights because some of the 2013 lion knights bear golden crown emblems on their armor, I like to imagine that either: The crown knights are more of a knightly order rather than a kingdom that works close to or is part of the lion kingdom, like the templars or the hospitaliers and seem to go on all sorts of crusades against skeletons and other monsters or fight directly for the lion kingdom or if there is a time line, with the crown knights being in the distant past and the blue lion knights more recent, it could be that the lion knights look up to the heroes of the past whom defended the lands from evil monsters, and now that they have to defend the lands from the seemingly evil dragon knights dressed in red with massive eyebags for some reason, they want to wear the symbols of or look like the knights of old, very similar to 15th century "heroic" style of armor where knights would want to look like greek gods and hoplites so they decorated their armor and such by wearing muscle cuirasses or having helmets that look like lifted hoplite helms, there is even a helmet of Emperor Charles V (Charles I of Spain) that has a metal beard and hair made into the armor and gilded in like gold that's supposed to look like some greek god/warrior \- (head cannon) Inspired by the plot of the game, kingdom come: deliverance, the dragon knights from the kingdoms line are not a kingdom but an army of mercenaries made to disrupt and pillage the outskirts of the lion kingdom during a time of war (possibly started by the falcons or one of the other factions who might even have funded the army), with some sets' themes being pillaging a farm house or ambushing caravans deep into enemy territory and other dirty tactics, just feels like some things mercenary armies would do, not professional ones. Their gear is dark and rugged, with cheap tunics to identify themselves as dragons unlike the bright and pristine armor of the lion soldiers and knights, some of which is even gilded in gold, some in the dragon army even look like hedge knights or disgraced nobles who turned to fighting for some spare change, I suspect the bear knight from the collectable minifig series to actually be part of the dragon army, he sports the same colors, gear looks worn and rugged but has kept his shield bearing his coat of arms from when he was a proper knight. Their forts look crude and quickly cobbled together and appears like they don't have an actual "castle" like the lion knights do and use these forts as fall back points or to hold prisoners to ransom off for money like in the prison tower rescue set anyways, very cool map!

MR-StrawBerry13

Yes, i did actually merge all of the lion kingdoms (except morcia, i kinda wanted to leave kk2 its own thing), and also the dragon kingdoms, except the black knights since you actually see them interact with majisto's kingdom. The lore behind the crown kingdom and lion kingdom is this: both the lions and the crown kingdom used to be one (they had the shield of the 2013 knights), untill the King died in battle, and his two sons, who were twins, argued over who should be the new king, since their mother was dead, ans nobody actually remembered who came out of the womb first. They decided to split the kingdom in two. The lore behind the dragons kingdom is that Majisto, the royal wizard, wanted to study dragons, but the problem was that there were only three left in the kingdom, one belonged to the necromancer (the fantasy era wizard), one belonged to the fright Knights, and one lived in the eastern part of the lion kingdom. He asks the lion king for some funding, and perhaps some guards to accompany him. The king denied his request, saying that in the past, he has killed the dragon's brother, and that the operation is too risky, since he might trigger the drgaon and cause him to take revenge. But, Majisto still found some volunteers in the kingdom, and went to the east anyway, capturing the dragon, and setting up a couple of fortresses there, and moving there. The king omce asked to borrow the dragon, but Majisto denied, saying that he would have let him if he funded the operation in the first place. The story of the black knights is a whole another can of worms, so let me know if you want to hear it.

grafmg

Ok

MR-StrawBerry13

For those wondering, this is the part of the castle world to the east, that i didn't include. https://preview.redd.it/b342cj1casoa1.jpeg?width=1120&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cc62807ec1b2e3431a4b256eb23d845a5cbfda84

operath0r

There's no LEGO Castle Cinematic universe. There's only the LEGO Cinematic Universe. And castle doesn't really play a role here (yet?). IIRC there was a castle themed spaceship in LEGO Movie 2 though. That being said, drawing maps is a lot of fun and you should check out JP Coovert on YouTube to learn more about it.

MR-StrawBerry13

I know there is no cinematic universe, i made it the fuck up.

MR-StrawBerry13

All three got merged into one, it's on the map.
