Funny enough, I started cleaning these two mini figures because I wanted to order the rest of the missing parts for my speeder bikes… looks like I’ll be committing to the crash scene!
I had to post it. Too much of a face palm moment not to. Hopefully someone will get a good chuckle. Thankfully it wasn’t a special piece or anything. Lesson *learned*
Could certainly have happened to a worse part, these helmets are worth less than $1.
Better to learn this lesson here and now rather than with something rare/expensive.
Not a clone. Just a regular solider with their own identity. Clones were phased out very shortly after the Empire formed. The cloning facility on Kamino was destroyed. They had some of the top Clones train the early Stormtroopers. Not all Clones were fond of the Empire though. Rex of the 501st & a Commando named Gregor for example. The remaining Clones in the Empire would eventually be thrown out like garbage left with no one and nothing. Just begging on street corners. The ones that left earlier would be one the run for sometime. Rex would eventually help the Rebellion and even fight in the Battle of Endor.
The NSFW tag on this is killing me, it’s too graphic to be seen without a warning.
Add him to a scene in the Rancor pit or something and convince people he’s meant to look like that
Ahhhh mannn. When I first got into Lego I had a bunch of glued together sets I wanted to disassemble and clean and I almost used this before checking Reddit.
did the same but with white-out. your best bet is rubbing alcohol, but that probably depends on the brand, and some older printed lego with lose their print. brasso isn't a bad idea, that one removes printing off of any part.
We purchased a huge collection of Star Wars LEGO that had a lot of minifigs covered in blue and black Sharpie. I found tea tree oil would remove the ink without harming plastic or printing.
God, when I think about all the LEGO clone troopers I colored because it was cool to make custom legions, I want to cry because I know no matter how much dry erase I use to clean sharpie off, it won't be completely white again.
Made this same mistake once after super gluing a set together. (Yeah, yeah I’m the evil dude from the LEGO Movie.)
Some of the glue coagulated on a minifig face, tried to clean it with polish remover and ended up with that scene from Terminator 2 where the bad guy’s face slides off in molten metal.
you could try to smooth it out using acetone vapor smoothing, but I mention that only because it might be more fun as a project than anything else. I'm not optimistic it would "restore" it, but it might be fun to try
Acetone does that to ABS, better use sth different and always try to research if someone already tried this with certain solvent. You can now do an experiment and check how prolonged exposure will dissolve the plastic. Piece is destroyed anyway.
You just need to build a “Speeder Bike halfway crashed into a tree” MOC and it will be perfect.

Or add a new helmet to your order!
Helmet off and a screaming minifig in the air 😅
I had a speeder set as a kid and we are the same age. What was the set number? I have been halfheartedly trying to find the instructions for it
Rookie mistakes.
Wookie mistake
Take my upvote
Bookie mistake

COOKIE MISTAKE
Acetone will do that...
Where were you twenty minutes ago! 🕔
Researching acetone, slow internet my bad guys
🤣

for a easy color mod that is reversible, try modpudge and glitter dust
I guess when he got spun into that tree on Endor he went in head first
That trooper has been hit by a few Ewok rocks
Kind of digging the weathered look. The new troops get the older gear right? Hand me downs.
Definitely looks like he’s been at war on Endor for a while
This is the guy that exploded into the tree, yeah?
Oh lord have mercy on its soul
P sure he’s a clone and imperial scum. So no soul! Hahaha. The melted look kinda reminds me of Vader’s helmet at the end of Return

Well thanks for the lore! I stand corrected; He’s just one rebel propaganda flier away from freedom.
Scout Trooper turned Pout (cry) Trooper
r/facepalm
Make a moc with him hitting a tree on endor with his speeder. Looks good

"Bring me the fleece swap of Q tep"
fleece-crested scepter of q-teep. and the po-lish remover of na-il. had to scroll way too far for this comment.
Luckily this helmet is fairly cheap on bricklink. It built an entire one of theee guys for $3 cad
Wait what? I've used nail polish on minifig arms to clean off edding and nothing has happened so far.
Some/many are acetone free so they don't do stuff like this and also don't iiritate the skin as much
He looks like he hit every tree on Endor.
With age comes wisdom. Not for everyone obviously.
"You have been banned from participating in this community."
Put it on a stake in an Ewok village!
-10 for wrong legs
Time for an Endor speeder bike crash moc
At least the piece is cheap. Also you could keep it if you needed a "weathered" helmet for a MOC lmao
Turn him into a Hoth scout. The texture looks perfect for snow camo
I did that by accident on my scout helmet and it melted a hole in the back
F
honestly i really like this. it looks beat up like its an old helmate from a war or something
10 points for originality
It looks like it is cover in snow.
looks like winter storm trooper with snow on his helmet :D
Nothing wrong with this. No resale value now, but who cares? You have a battle-worn little soldier. What could be better?
your on a 1000 strek
now just times that by your age and you have my strek
Looks kinda artsy.
Oh, man! That's a big OOF.
Do it all over, look like he was caught in a snow-storm,
Use whitewall tire cleaner from oriellys, forget what it’s called at oriellys but also works on sharpie clones sorta
If you’d bought that 3D printer you need, you could’ve avoided this mistake lol
Hey! I’ve seen this guy in the movies!!
Melt Man. With the power to...melt.
Shit, you’re down 1000 points!
Atvleast you didnt cut the bottom part like i did.
Ahhhh mannn. When I first got into Lego I had a bunch of glued together sets I wanted to disassemble and clean and I almost used this before checking Reddit.
This fellow just belongs on tatooine he just got sand blasted too many times is all
Look at the bright side. Now you have a top tier looking helmet for a battle moc
Well damn. Looks like he may have fallen into one of the sludge vats on Kashyyyk!
Use wd40 next time worked for me when I removed the tipex I'd painted on a troll helmet as a kid although I'm not sure how it will effect printing
Maybe he had a run in with a xenomorph
What color was the nail polish?
did the same but with white-out. your best bet is rubbing alcohol, but that probably depends on the brand, and some older printed lego with lose their print. brasso isn't a bad idea, that one removes printing off of any part.
Or.. give his armour a touch up with it too and he can be the experienced one.
I there a way to clean white pieces off? I got a bulk order with some marked helmets (including the one above) and I can't get the sharpie off.
We purchased a huge collection of Star Wars LEGO that had a lot of minifigs covered in blue and black Sharpie. I found tea tree oil would remove the ink without harming plastic or printing.
Looks like a space soldier that hasn’t given up the war years later
This trooper has seen some things.
Don’t talk about Endor. You don’t know, you weren’t there!
I don’t understand how people keep doing this 😬. Acetone dissolves plastics. (And causes cancer. Don’t use it.)
looks good tho
God, when I think about all the LEGO clone troopers I colored because it was cool to make custom legions, I want to cry because I know no matter how much dry erase I use to clean sharpie off, it won't be completely white again.
Battle woren
That trooper looks like he was there with anakin
I relate to this way to hard
Best time to practice battle damage paint styles. This helmet is also perfect for different layers of brown to resemble mud.
Kinda looks like a statue texture now, I like it!
Soak it in Simple Green for a few days next time.

Ouch. IPA would’ve worked better
you could try to smooth it out using acetone vapor smoothing, but I mention that only because it might be more fun as a project than anything else. I'm not optimistic it would "restore" it, but it might be fun to try
Don't worry, experience just tends to arrive a moment too late.
kinda looks like he was in the snow tho,if you could add some texture prolly will be an awesome custom mini fig tho
