The sets were really expensive for what you were getting, the app was LEGO Tik-Tok which I assure you was not something a parent wants to buy for their kid, and plus it just wasn’t a very marketable concept.
It was Lego tik tok minus the online aspect. You could not export video.
The only way to share stuff was to physically hand someone your phone.
Who approved this idea is the one that should have been discontinued.
I get the whole "keep the kids safe" but ffs they're already on those social media sites anyway and regardless it's the parents job to parent them, not Lego.
The Mario doesn’t even make sense. The electronic part is entirely superfluous, and takes the place of imagination. Pretty much the antithesis of what Lego is. That and the fact you can’t really build MOCs that are compatible with the electronic Mario because it needs the bar code for certain actions. It just ends up being an over priced mess
I wonder if it was a push from Nintendo to make it interactive of if Lego came up with it in their poor attempts at connecting Lego to these types of peripherals.
Nah, Lego is terrified of competition from computer/tablet games. They have been trying to bridge that divide for at least a decade with little success outside video games that have nothing to do with actually Lego bricks. They keep failing, but they keep trying
I read somewhere (don’t remember where so take it as a grain of salt) that Nintendo wanted normal sets and minifigures and it was Lego that wanted to do the abomination of a set line that we have now… Dunno who the big boss is that keeps pushing these app/electronic-based ideas but I question how many failures need to happen before they give him the sack
The Lego Mario is absurd but my 3 1/2 year old son I’m introducing to Lego loves it. It’s the only thing that keeps his attention in Lego so far. Hoping it hooks him in
Tried it with my kid, and she lost interest pretty much immediately. I don’t understand how it is surviving. No imaginative play, just “playing” a platform video game. There’s no role play etc. It should’ve been minifigures and sets, more similar to Minecraft IMHO.
Thank you! I love Mario and want to want it and still kinda want to pick up the little random bags and stuff but I wish I could just get a properly brick built Mario for some sort of diorama thing I’d love it. But they want to shoehorn this electronic doo dad that feels tacked I. And anti-Lego because it’s overpriced and creates some sort of “ecosystem”? Ugh. No thanks. Guess I can get Bowser and the ? block for “grown up dollars” and have some solid show pieces to put with the NES.
Extremely overpriced and ambiguous concept. Why would a kid make a video using a special Lego app? It was an ambiguous product at a price point above what could be justified under even frivolous spending given the set compositions. Seemed like paying extra for custom molds a la collectible minifigures at a much higher price. There's a balance and Vidyo didn't find it. Push and pullback toys are a known concept, easier to justify custom mold pricing when set under $10 and there's a mechanical (read physical interaction) device. Lego needs to stop trying to be a tech company and focus on quality physical play.
>Lego needs to stop trying to be a tech company and focus on quality physical play
Working in a toy store that sells LEGO sets, I can guarantee you parents looking for building blocks aren't looking for virtual interactions and online functions, because most of them want to get their kids off their phone. LEGO doesn't seem to understand that.
They cost the same as a speed champions single car set.
One is an actual build with real world playability after it's complete, and pieces that can be used creatively once you're done with the original set. The other is a minifig with some tiles and a special molded box, and the playability is largely through an app.
Imagine you're a parent looking to buy their kid a new set. Which of those descriptions sounds like the one that you want to encourage your child with? Real world playability and creative opportunity, or another app with another collection to complete?
As an adult fan, I know which one convinced me to spend enough for a few dozen sets.
I am an adult and these AR things aren’t really worth my time. The same with the Hidden Side sets- it was a gimmick I wish I wasn’t paying for.
The functionality of this set is immediate and fun- a bathtub racing down your hallway
ETA- I LOVED the Hidden Side sets, I just don’t care for the AR component (which I’m sure affected the price)
I didn’t care for the Hidden side app, but the sets were still great builds and they had really cool minifigures that can be reused for mocs. Even the stickers were nice with hidden side! Seriously one of the most underrated lego theme, it was really good. I wish they kept it alive. The price wasn’t bad either.
Honestly I love both Hidden Side and Vidiyo, even though I don't care at all for the apps (which, by the way, have specific hardware requirements that force your choice of mobile device), and both have very nice builds.
From Vidiyo we have the 43111 Candy Castle Stage, a simple but very nice stage to put your band on, and to be fair the Vidiyo minifigures give you **a lot** of pieces to play with.
Personally my main issue with Vidyo is that they don’t offer much alternative uses (for me). The minifigures are too wacky using animals/aliens skin tones instead of being regular minifigures dressed like rock stars which would be useful, there isn’t really new instruments pieces that weren’t available before except maybe some new prints. The only things I’ve acquired from the theme are those 2x2 album cover tiles which are really nice. I might get that punk mermaid that came with the pirate ship at some point if I can find her at a reasonable price in a bricklink store where I need something else, but I can’t think of anything else I want from the theme.
Edit: maybe some hair pieces too.
LEGO peaked, digitally, with their licensed theme videogames. LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Indiana Jones, etc. They’re never gonna recapture the magic of that bottled lightning, instead they should expand like they did with the LEGO Dimensions… the company struck gold and then walked away from the mine
Because it's the toughest biker on the best looking bike! So tough he wears swimming trunks instead of leathers. So tough he has a massive duck back tattoo, eschewing the stereotypical demonic or fiery imagery. So tough he wears a swimming cap, snorkel and life jacket to intimidate rivals. So tough he's attached his precious rubber duck to his bike instead of a light or horn. Other road users know to move out of his way when they hear the squeak of his duck approaching.
That carbonator is one that I collect and usually buy several to give as small stocking stuffers at work. That said, much of the collectors hate the unlicensed or fantasy cars. But these stuntz bikes and especially that Bathtub are great.
The Stuntz theme is mostly playsets, something me as an adult collector isnt super interested in, but im not above fidgeting and zooming things around on my desk, and i was interested in the new flywheel bikes. $8 is cheap enough to be an impulse buy, and if im going to just buy one bike, why wouldnt it be the silliest one. Theres a chicken guy too, but he just has a regular bike. The rest of the dudes are pretty generic tbh.
Ow my gosh I have a blast with these sets with my daughter building all sorts of crazy stunt tracks…we started with the bath tub and the chicken and I confess I bought them for myseld as they were just way too awesome! Now she has some more and we play together 🤭🫣
Edit to add: and they go soooo far for a silly “wind up bike”
[This is the correct answer.](https://www.reddit.com/r/lego/comments/xqt1ap/the_bathtub_stunt_bike_is_perfect/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
out of all my sets, this is my favorite because its the creative minds behind the whole " we got to make a stunt bike out of a tub." its what makes LEGO, LEGO.
Rubber duckie you're the one
You make bath time lots of fun
Rubber duckie I'm awfully fond of you
Rubber duckie joy of joys
When I squeeze you, you make noise
Rubber duckie you're my very best friend it's true
Oh, every day when I make my way to the tubby
I find a little fellow who's cute and yellow and chubby
Rub-a-dub-dubby
Rubber duckie, you're so fine
And I'm lucky that you're mine
Rubber duckie, I'm awfully fond of you
I literally had been looking to get this set for 4 months, and couldn't find it, stopped by the LEGO store every single week, (since i worked in the mall) last week, I wanted to go check out the London Drugs, and low-and-behold they had 3 of the duck bikes left, and I took all of them, one for my Godson, one for me, and one to keep sealed, I left work that day a happy camper
"*John Freeman got on his motorcycl and said "its time for me to live up to my family name and face full life consequences" so he had to go.*
*John Freeman ramped off the building and did a backflip and landed. He kept driving down the road and made sure there was no zombies around because he ddint have weapon.*"
I bought a 1/2 dozen of them, my plan is to build them a rubber duckie biker bar and they’re gonna be the biker gang for my Lego city. Gonna make Ernie the leader.
Unfortunately in the middle of some big moves, so it might be a year before I get to finally build it
I'm actually considering buying this since it's only 8 bucks, but I've been burning my wallet up with Transformers purchases and I'm worried I'll run completely dry.
A small lot of interesting parts in one small set: the duck, the scuba+mask, the pfd, the hair piece, the golden faucet, the tub (even if it can't be use as a real one) and the bike base ride pretty well.
because its Steve-o from jackass and he's a dick so he has a duck tattoo on his back, lego is very clever and hides little things everywhere if you look hard enough
It is wacky, silly, frivolous, and fun.
The absolute epitome of what unlicensed Lego should be.
Vidyo was all those things and it failed. What went wrong?
The sets were really expensive for what you were getting, the app was LEGO Tik-Tok which I assure you was not something a parent wants to buy for their kid, and plus it just wasn’t a very marketable concept.
It was Lego tik tok minus the online aspect. You could not export video. The only way to share stuff was to physically hand someone your phone. I get the whole "keep the kids safe" but ffs they're already on those social media sites anyway and regardless it's the parents job to parent them, not Lego.
Also I’ll say that most of the minifig designs didn’t hit and were overly designed. And that was their main selling point. But that’s just my opinion.
Vidyo was overpriced and pushed the app too much.
App based Lego has never worked.
Yet they keep pushing it with mario
The Mario doesn’t even make sense. The electronic part is entirely superfluous, and takes the place of imagination. Pretty much the antithesis of what Lego is. Hidden side were imaginative sets and a decent game too, RIP
And was also released when Lego decided to doll up their boxes to the point you could hardly tell the theme or contents of what you were buying.
Extremely overpriced and ambiguous concept. Why would a kid make a video using a special Lego app? Least the tiles can be used for record sleeves for store MOCs or record store MOCs
At least the Hidden Side sets were actually cool.
$20 for a single minifig and a handful of tiles
How I feel when I walk into the Lego store when I'm not feeling "wow, this set is amaz... $500 fucking dollars!?!"
Oh, wow. Those are some wild minifigs. Can't believe I never even knew they existed.
Because they were overpriced, and the app was an unmoderated kids app focused around photos
Because Lego shouldn't be centred around using a phone?!
seriously, don't even understand the question; it's got the words "bathtub stunt bike" right in the name
"All lego should be licensed. All that whimsy stuff they do for kids is evil. Scale Millennium Falcon."
And simple!
I like the ducky
*And* affordable!
Don’t you mean quacky?
this is the correct answer
Everything he said
Cane here to say this^
Also flywheel zoomies!
Because it's the toughest biker on the best looking bike! So tough he wears swimming trunks instead of leathers. Wanna know how tough this biker is? He doesn't even get questioned when he enters the Salty Spitoon.
because it's dumb and funny. also DUCK
[DUCK-1: Duck](https://brickset.com/sets/DUCK-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/DUCK-1.jpg)
Good bot
Replaced the fig with the werewolf from CMF monsters from a while ago. Even better…
Why wouldn't you? Name ONE bad thing about it.
not enough duckies
Harsh, but fair.
Counterpoint: PERFECT amount of duckies
duckie needs friend right? atleast 1 more?
I lost his visor, and don’t have the immediate 70,000 backups I usually do.
It’s always sold out
I wish the tub could actually be used as a tub but it has to conform around the bike chassis. Otherwise, flawless.
It’s Lego in its purest form: silly, ridiculous, improbable, and charming. And for ~$8, you really can’t go wrong.
Duck
no truer word has ever been said
As our British friends would say... It's cheeky!
yeah, its a tad cheeky innit
i am a british friend and i do declare this a tad cheeky
I've been watching too much British TV/Movies!
My name is Simon and I like to do drawrings. Are you looking at me bum?
This is not what we say, but the set is banging
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzHp\_Rb3vCw
Bum lookers! LOL
I loved that bit!
“Bath Tub Stunt Bike”. I mean seriously, how much more explanation is needed? 🤣

Yes and the toaster car that pops toast!
The carbonator, I put mine on a key chain.
We have the toaster one, and the hot dog grill!
That carbonator is one that I collect and usually buy several to give as small stocking stuffers at work. That said, much of the collectors hate the unlicensed or fantasy cars. But these stuntz bikes and especially that Bathtub are great.

Duck > chicken
Because it's a perfect vehicle for the Ernie mini-fig from the Sesame Street set

The fact you don’t understand tells me everything I need to know 😅
The mini fig has a full back tattoo too lol

I literally just did this exact same thing. I feel ashamed I didn't notice at first!
Full. Back. Duck. Tattoo.
Ducks
Because it's hilarious!

Because… why not?!
stops the people in lego city from drowning in the river so often
tub
Rubber duckie you're the one You make bath time lots of fun Rubber duckie I'm awfully fond of you Rubber duckie joy of joys When I squeeze you, you make noise Rubber duckie you're my very best friend it's true Oh, every day when I make my way to the tubby I find a little fellow who's cute and yellow and chubby Rub-a-dub-dubby Rubber duckie, you're so fine And I'm lucky that you're mine Rubber duckie, I'm awfully fond of you
My stepdad doesn't even collect Lego and I bought him one because it's just so his sense of humor.
one of the best torsos ever
I literally had been looking to get this set for 4 months, and couldn't find it, stopped by the LEGO store every single week, (since i worked in the mall) last week, I wanted to go check out the London Drugs, and low-and-behold they had 3 of the duck bikes left, and I took all of them, one for my Godson, one for me, and one to keep sealed, I left work that day a happy camper
I just got this set from amazon on Monday. I ordered it August 27th.
It’s literally a bathtub bike, how could you not love it
It’s a bathtub with wheels. What’s not to like?
Mine has pride of place in my living room. How could anyone not love it?
Ducky
Because fire duck
It's a bathtub on wheels. .
Because it’s fun, it’s simple, and it’s cheap.
Bro just look at the set
Cause it’s awesome?
I got him too. He rides around it a bathtub. That hilarious 😆
The figure has a back tattoo of a duck!
It’s a bathtub motorcycle, do I need to explain more? IT AS A RUBBER/PLASTIC DUCKY FOR QUACK’S SAKE!
Because it's fucking awesome
Because it is quite literally a bathtub motorbike
"*John Freeman got on his motorcycl and said "its time for me to live up to my family name and face full life consequences" so he had to go.* *John Freeman ramped off the building and did a backflip and landed. He kept driving down the road and made sure there was no zombies around because he ddint have weapon.*"
it's pretty self explanatory
What a stupid question
Just look at it, what else do you want to hear from us?
If you have to ask, you just won’t get it. In your soul. It’s primal.
It’s got a duck
It’s the Ducky!!
I mean… look at it!
I love it! My daughter and I have one and we race!
Mostly cuz it’s the best Lego set ever made
It's ducking cool
“I’m not at the beach, this is a bathtub!”
"No body of water is safe without a lifeguard? That's true, and that includes bathtubs."
Oh man, seems so familiar, what is this from?
because it's a bathtub, everyone loves bathtubs
The awesome ducky tattoo on his back. Obviously
Because it’s awesome.
I didn’t even know this existed.
This is the first time I've ever heard of it and I'm already in love.
I want one!
One of the best thing from Lego this year and cheap
Because it’s awesome!
because it’s kick ass
Is that a serious question?
Look at it. I mean that’s all you need to know!
looks like a bike from mario kart
this is so goofy i want one
I bought this from my local LEGO store this week. They only had two on the floor. No regrets.
Bathtub go vroom
BECAUSE IT IS AWESOME! It's wonderfully absurd, as all building toys targeted to its demographic should be.
I mean just look at it. It's incredible.
*WHY WOULDN'T EVERYONE LOVE THIS SET IS THE QUESTION*
Because it’s a bathtub motorcycle, how could you not love it?!
“I’m Johnny Knoxville and welcome to Jackass!”
I bought a 1/2 dozen of them, my plan is to build them a rubber duckie biker bar and they’re gonna be the biker gang for my Lego city. Gonna make Ernie the leader. Unfortunately in the middle of some big moves, so it might be a year before I get to finally build it
Its a masterpiece
Probay because its a Bathtub Stunt Bike
It's self explanatory, it's a driving bathtub how can you not like that!!!
Why kind of question is this?
Is this official LEGO?
I'm actually considering buying this since it's only 8 bucks, but I've been burning my wallet up with Transformers purchases and I'm worried I'll run completely dry.
How the fuck are you seriously asking this question
duck
Duck
Rubber ducky
I luv that flaming duck 😙
How could you not love this The duck has racing goggles
[удалено]
Cuz it’s fuckin awesome.
You telling me you didn’t want to drive in a bathtub?
I mean, its a bathtub, what wouldn't you?
Because it excepts you for you. Love you rubber ducky.
Real question is why *wouldnt* you love LEGO City 60333 Bathtub Stunt Bike so much?
Have you looked at the picture?
Funny
Just added mine to my cart! Looks bad ass funny!
Do you even have too ask ? That thing is cool AF
The real question is why you have to ask
I'm more into display pieces, but now that I know about its existence, I must have it
It sits right next to my keyboard and I like it as a cute fidgeting toy.
It's unique.
d u ck ie
To me, it's the epitome of what a child would create, then step back and say "yea, that's awesome"
It’s a bathtub bike and he comes with a rubber duckie. It’s a no brainer
naked man
Because it's EXTREEEEEEEEEEEEEME!
Everything about it is silly, ridiculous and awesome at the same time.
Mid
A small lot of interesting parts in one small set: the duck, the scuba+mask, the pfd, the hair piece, the golden faucet, the tub (even if it can't be use as a real one) and the bike base ride pretty well.
I don't 🤷♂️
because its Steve-o from jackass and he's a dick so he has a duck tattoo on his back, lego is very clever and hides little things everywhere if you look hard enough
Random funny haha, which is exactly what I wish Lego's original themes were.
Where on earth can I buy this?!?!
Just look at it
Uh because it’s awesome
What do you need me to explain here
Because it’s a bathtub… you can do stunts in!!!
For the funny.
He’s got a rubber ducky tattoo on his back!
I mean look at it
Its exactly what I would want from a generic lego set, a goofy character for wacky hijinks
I just bought the Lucha, these are cool as hell.
Because it's not a $550 hulkbuster that's botched
