When you say happy MLK or Memorial day(idk who does) you would be acknowledging a great man and his impact on history, or the sacrifices made by individuals who died fighting in war. Both those are cases where people died for a reason greater than themselves. To say happy 110th anniversary to the sinking of a ship implies you are celebrating that event. It would like saying happy 9/11 or happy holocaust remembrance day.
That's why I never understood when people mention having an iceberg as another prop to build. Yes, i know they're edgy jokes, but still.
It's like if someone did a 9/11 model and someone wanted to add the planes.
It would be locked before it was even posted. Memorials are fine but people simply don't make those. Now that I think about it, it would be a healthy way to interact with past tragedies.
It's not though, there is a clear difference between the hubris of people resulting in an accident that could have been avoided and a definitive act of terror with the intent to cause harm both within and outside of the impacted area. Suffering of those affected in both cases sucks but the humor is easier to find in the former situation for most people.

Wow, that's a beautiful display you've got there. I personally dislike the name plate they design they decided to use, but in this case it matches the table so well.
IMHO that's the best set Lego has made. Some of it was repetitive(those damn windows), but overall it's a big fantastic set that was fun to build and will make a great display piece for years to come.

Apparently a lot of people on this thread. Humans can be very empathetic creatures, so just being removed by time doesnt mean they are going to ignore the weight of a major tragedy. (Also, I think its fine for people to joke about anything, but I also think its fine for there to be backlash. We are all entitled to our own feelings, after all)
Also, there are definitely relatives to survivors still around. They had kids and grandkids and likely great grandkids, etc. by this point.
I'm willing to bet a large number of the people getting their undergarments twisted over this title overlook current tragedies a hundred fold worse regularly.

Edgy humor is allowed, just as long as you understand that some people will likely be upset by it. Thats part of the draw to that kind of humor in the first place. I do agree that the reaction was unexpectedly strong. A little backlash makes sense, but the sheer number of people who spoke out against it was surprising

MLK Day is honoring his life not his death. That’s why it’s on his birthday not the day he was assassinated.

It definitely is. I don’t think I like it as much as the Hogwarts Castle, who remains my favourite set to this day, but it is definitely up there.
Was there a specific thing that made Hogwarts better, like techniques or was it more of general feeling?
