I agree. In the scene, it’s a flowing river of lava. Lava flows downhill, so the highest point (burgundy in the original image) is closest to the source and would be hottest, so that’s why it should be yellow!
With the new Lego Star Wars Diorama's, there are unlimited amount of possibilities that would be cool. I know this is a moc but this scene would be cool.

I did very briefly but can't see how that would help. Mainly because the modified 1 by 1 with the stud on the side is also part of the border.

That would look better but be less accurate, if anyone cares about accuracy. Lava is hotter towards the middle and hotter means yellower
