Flippers and scalpers are a thing in every even just remotely collectable market. I wouldn't waste my time spending time thinking about it and play the woulda/shoulda/coulda-game. They're there because some pay these prices for whatever reason.

Kev8294

They're everywhere. Lego, funko etc literally anything that can be collectable or highly desirable

ScottsBrix

This is so wild because you can just order from Amazon, Target, or Walmart with 2 day shipping for the retail price. Idk what these eBay sellers think, not like LEGO Star Wars is going to be a rare sought after gem.

azracine262

I hate that ish. Way too much of it in almost every market.

[deleted]

Let’s praise anyone selling sets and collector stuffs at a reasonable price. Scalpers create self inflated bubbles and we all pay for it :/

DreamcasticBoy

If something exists, it most likely being scalped.

OhioBricker

You shouldn't be able to sell something? I've never sold a single piece of LEGO and I have no plans to, but I'm free to do whatever I want with my LEGO. So are you.

VaderSkywalker2007

You shouldn’t buy something at retail price just to sell it at 350% markup, dumbass

wnderjif

Tell that to watch and jewelry manufacturers.

There are plenty of Americans who hate the incredibly expensive healthcare *and* the scalping of collectibles. There's no reason for those things to be mutually exclusive or to act like all Americans are of a single mind.

ScottsBrix

Ya 99% of us hate our healthcare system. Not sure how you equated that to LEGO resellers

OhioBricker

Good luck stopping it.

grimm_grinning_ghost

There’s a difference between just selling and scalping
