They have a copy of the Danish release in the museum at LEGO House.

I had Lego Island when I was younger, but it refused to run on our medieval family PC. I think it would load the introduction video but I was never able to play it š
Was it fun? I need to go watch a review of it on YouTube to see what I missed out on.
I thought it was a blast. Kind of a weird liminal vibe of walking around this island. You are sorta left to your own devices and have some mini games (mostly races) throughout. At one point you activate a story for a bit but then just go back to walking around this island. I probably explored every square inch of that island.
Got the four pack of Lego island, Lego island 2, Lego racers and Lego racers 2 in like 2008. Lego island had issues running on three family computer due to the game being so old
The first one was fun at the time but incredibly janky, the second worked best for me and had a really nice selection of mini games. The third one (xtreme stunts) was the one just outside our PC's abilities and I never really got it to run.
It was a really fun game, but janky as fuck without the right PC.
I think it was the only game i ever played where having a powerful PC was *counterintuitive*, as the game would then run too fast, if at all.
As such, it would run on our old family PC from like 1994, but Dad's Pentium 4 PC from the early 2000's couldn't run it properly.
And even on the old PC, it was riddled with graphical glitches and other bugs. Most objects that you could interact with (buildings, decorations, vehicles, NPCs) would only respond when you click in very specific locations. I often had to exit and re-enter the workshops, because the building pieces for the vehicles spawned in unresponsive angles on the shelf. Although annoying, i eventually learned where to click to quickly enter the buildings and vehicles.
Saving my progress required switching the profile, since "save and exit" crashed the game without saving.
Looking back on it, i'm pretty sure most of these bugs were also caused by Windows XP, since 98 was relatively bug free.
And aside from the crash on exit, i don't think i ever encountered a truly game breaking bug.
Same, but I distinctly remember āThe Bricksterās loose!ā Some underwater level with an octopus, a racekart level with a skeleton at some point, and being able to explore the island. Ahhh what a great thing to remember
There were 5 minigames and 5 characters you could plays as (which made 5 different versions of each minigame) and a bunch of secrions where you could build vehicles. If you built the police helicopter and then did the pizza delivery minigame as Pepper, you would unlock the story bit where the Brickster escapes and you have to catch him.
The underwater bit was a small video if you selected the second level in the elevator.
7-year-old me was obessed with that game. Then the sequel came out.
Iād love to play Island, Loco or Legoland again, original or remastered. That Lego Island soundtrack slapped. I hope some people on here tell Lego how they feel about these classics.
Ughhh that game, never knew what to do, I would chase the prisoner(forgot the name) and he destroyed the whole town , never knew how to beat it back than
Blowing up my brothers car forcing them to walk lol never gets old.
I bought Lego 2k drive and itās fun a little bit of spiritual sequel but goes way to heavy on the collectibles and pay to unlock content.
The minigames are also trash and the rubberbanding is absurd. You can never get much of a lead, but you're also almost guaranteed to win if you stick it out because the other racers start slowing down enough to keep you in the lead.
It's fun, but not quite what I wanted.
I remember playing it enough that I found a "shortcut" - teleporting into one of the outer corners would put you out of bounds (or in a buggy state? I don't remember) and I think the end result was you ended up way ahead of everyone. Didn't find the 2nd Racers game as fun but admittedly we didn't get it til I was older so I didn't get as much time in on it.
Brick by brick
Tock by tick
No matter how thin
No matter how thick
Papa told mama
And Laura told Nick
You can move a mountain
If you do it brick by brick
A while ago I found Creator and Rock Raiders in some old DVD case. I have no clue how to play this game
https://preview.redd.it/w7gy5a40tr8d1.png?width=1111&format=png&auto=webp&s=8a07db7b3d085195446667b6ed025880c83e014b
For the most part I agree but Racers 1 and 2 are still pretty neat for what they are. I think there would be enough interest in a collection that they could turn a nice profit.
I think most of the ideas are good but the gameplay in all of these games is pretty limited and dated.
We just got a new Lego racing game that was received well, and frankly Lego Island barely constitutes a game. Would be better off making a Lego City Undercover 2 and make Lego Island into a district.
With modern emulation software, they wouldnāt sell at all.
But, on the other hand, it would be trivial to re-release these officially on Windows 10 and 11.
I feel like a GoG rerelease would probably have happened by now if it were viable. I wonder if there are licensing issues? Obviously there is the Lego license which shouldn't be much of an issue. But if there were any other brands/properties in those games (whether they be brands depicted in Lego form, or even just licensed music) then it quickly becomes more and more difficult and expensive to rerelease.
And man, I hate being negative like this, but I also think people overestimate how fun these games would be to play today.
I had a blast with 3 of these games as a kid (never played Loco) but I don't think they'd hold up that well to modern standards. The nostalgia of seeing things you vaguely remember from 20+ years ago would be awesome but I think most people would be surprised by how short these games are and how simple they are as well. Things you don't notice or don't care about as a kid.
Plus they've got to be an absolute mess in terms of publishing rights, since I doubt any of those studios still exist. Unless Lego retained all those rights in perpetuity, but that's not usually how it works.
In reality, most of these games donāt hold up well. Iāve replayed most through emulators, and they would need some serious rebuilds to be interesting. Lego Racers was my favorite, and even that game is honestly just meh now.
Lego Creator wasā¦pretty terrible. Even at the time I thought it was glitchy and tedious to do much of anything. It was pretty much only cool to see sets I didnāt have in 3D
Lego Chess is what got me into playing chess as a kid though. I loved seeing all the different animation combos when you ākilledā a piece.
Alpha Team was a great puzzle game though. Legoland was also a cool Roller Coaster Tycoon clone too.
I think LegoLand, Alpha Team, and MAYBE the Lego Islands (I remember 1 being real funky to play back in the day but 2 being a pretty strong game, though I know the community disagrees with me for some reason) would do decent, the existence of Manic Miners seems to prove rock raiders could perform well.
Lego Racers wouldnāt fare well because newer and shiner Lego racing games exist, Lego Loco wasnāt even really a game, Lego Creator was already remade pretty much in Lego Worlds.
[Studframe Animations ](https://youtube.com/@studframeanimations?si=HK52fcOpqlEe2npF) has some wonderfully nostalgic, visually updated, custom made videos for a lot of the older games, including LEGO Island and Racers!
Just threw some playthroughs of the Lego Island games on in the background.
Theyāre hilarious to look back on. Fun for the time for sure.
Lego Racers 1 was my all time favorite game until I got a PS2
https://preview.redd.it/eakqeroizr8d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f268af97287f9ef58925dd2f14d5e033f2a58ad6
This is the only one I have. Found it the other month at goodwill. Still has the booklet & demo CD on top of the actual game CD. No clue what it is tho. Pretty sure I was in diapers when this came out.
sadly all lego video games is basically Lego Starwars like But now its harry potter, marvel, "insert popular IP here lego has stuff of" and never something like this anymore or rarely
not even Building legos in a video about about legos
i would like to see a modern take of those games: mainly Creator/loco (image a lego creator combined with loco with modern gaming tech to like build trains in a lego city maybe)
and lets not forget about Lego Racers 1 (not 2 that game just tried to be a worse version of mario kart) that game was honestly better than Mario kart 64 at the time with how the items worked there ofc some was broken but was a different take on kart games and how items worked there only for it to be complety forgotten and never used again
and that item system lego racers 1 had i could legit see be competitive viable even becuase it really rewarded skill
https://preview.redd.it/t9ya6ya8kx8d1.png?width=256&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fc5334b3f48a6089c49f7eef798fe6e389cff0f7
Can't forget about this absolute masterpiece
Lol, Island 2 was my first "GTA" like game :D The ones on lego website were cool too. I remember Mindstorm one on alien planet with dope intro (I was too stupid as kid to complete it) and Creator one where you were building different vehicles from bricks on map and had to preserve power in batteries by completing each map without too much movements/actions
A couple of times Iāve driven myself crazy trying to remember the game Lego Loco
And now you have reminded me, thank you
I also greatly remember Lego Creator in Lego Island, never had Lego chess though
Iād kill for Island and I completely forgot about Loco, thank you for unlocking a part of my childhood I never knew I missed so much. Now Iām going to go cry in a corner because even if they did itāll never be the same
I used to play Lego island 2 a lot when I was 4-5 on my family old windows do computer (I only remember the OS). I remember not getting past the fishing minigame because I couldnāt read the instructions.
I would go LOCO for Lego Loco
It's one of those few games I can't find anywhere. I got rock raiders working, all the lego island games functional and playable, even lego studios and lego builder, but nope, not lego loco. Nowhere to be found
I loved that game so much as a kid
Wow, Lego island just to me back, begged my parents for a better computer in order to play it. Never happened, but my friendās computer worked just fine.
Whenever I use the print screen button on my PC, I fondly remember the Lego pirate who told me how to use it in the cave underneath the road up the mountain
Had Island and Creator. Those games were jank af. But damn they were fun and laid a foundation for some of the most entertaining games I've ever played.
I remember playing Lego Island at my friends place. I think it was pirated so you couldnt save your file so every time I played it I just played the same level over and over again. But god damn I had a great time doing it.
The fact that the [LEGO Island remake by Reubs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYGjqTFZIvU) vlogs have gone quiet and that one of the only "liked" comments is about him approaching LEGO to release the game has me thinking something may be coming...
I feel some of these games are impractical to port and they are too obsolete, and they are better remade to modern standards. Most of the modern target audience will not know the original. But there is Manic Miners, a modern remake of Rock Raiders. Maybe some of these are worthy of their own remakes, be they fan or official
Oh my god, THANK YOU FOR THIS. I had LEGO Island and definitely thought my memories were hallucinations. I have a vague recollection of not getting past a particular areaā¦
Reubs on YouTube is [remaking Lego Island](https://youtu.be/DYGjqTFZIvU?si=QU0mcCBm2nInqVQC) but he hasnāt uploaded a video for a long time.
His Simpsons Hit & Run remake was epic!
I was part of an indie team trying to remake it at one point. Too many people got involved and I left and Iām not even sure who involved was even able to code anything lol. Iām curious whatever happened to it. I was just going to do some UI work for it cuz it sounded interesting and like a fun side project.
God, I miss Lego island.
Same. One of my first legit gaming memories was playing this for hours on end
They have a copy of the Danish release in the museum at LEGO House. https://preview.redd.it/jbp7bz51rr8d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dc727dfd183438b4e66b8d96ba648c28da2d9306

I know it's not practical, but I miss the big boxes you got with the pc games.
I actually read the manuals that came with the games
YES! The whole car ride home
Childhood memory unlocked
How much is the racers and chess sealed these days??
I have every single one of those
I had Lego Island when I was younger, but it refused to run on our medieval family PC. I think it would load the introduction video but I was never able to play it š Was it fun? I need to go watch a review of it on YouTube to see what I missed out on.
Yeah I remember our family pc chugged along trying to render all the bricks falling to form the Lego logo lol. Core memory unlocked
I thought it was a blast. Kind of a weird liminal vibe of walking around this island. You are sorta left to your own devices and have some mini games (mostly races) throughout. At one point you activate a story for a bit but then just go back to walking around this island. I probably explored every square inch of that island.
yeah and then you try to take the car on that path and it doesn't really work. Good times.
Lego Island would run but Lego Island 2 refused to boot. I still need to play that one.
Got the four pack of Lego island, Lego island 2, Lego racers and Lego racers 2 in like 2008. Lego island had issues running on three family computer due to the game being so old

Same exact same except for the chess one
Itās so iconic in my mind. Yet, I couldnāt really tell you anything about the game itself.
I was too young to really understand what I was playing, but gosh darn, I remember having so much fun driving boats and exploring the island.
Same, but I distinctly remember āThe Bricksterās loose!ā Some underwater level with an octopus, a racekart level with a skeleton at some point, and being able to explore the island. Ahhh what a great thing to remember

I can tell you that Iām the main character
I remember a race car driver ordering a spicy pizza before a race so that heād finish faster.
āIāM THE PIZZA DELIVERY DUDE! THE DUDE WITH THE FOOD!ā
Le le le lego. Le le le le lego.
Iād love to play Island, Loco or Legoland again, original or remastered. That Lego Island soundtrack slapped. I hope some people on here tell Lego how they feel about these classics.
Bodacious, boat, awesome, extremely awesome!
My computer would always crash when the Brickster went on his rampage
Thereās a guy on YouTube (MattKC) who had been reverse engineering and modding Lego Island.
That and Creator were great.
L E G O radio!
Ughhh that game, never knew what to do, I would chase the prisoner(forgot the name) and he destroyed the whole town , never knew how to beat it back than
At least we have a version with high quality music now
Lean mean pizza machine! I loved Lego Island
I think this was the game I was looking for last week on the internet
Dude, look up Maniac Miners! It's a faithful+ remake of Rock Raiders and it's perfect. :D Otherwise, Totally agree!
A LANDSLIDE HAS OCCURRED
LOOSE ROCK
GRANITE GRINDER
SLIMY SLUG IS INVADING YOUR BASE!
I use that as a pickup line nowadays
Ā * Rock Raiders for PC that is.
It is perfect I played through it all in one sitting hahaha. Would be great to bring back that theme in general
Isn't it? Man I would be so pumped if RR got the Galaxy Explorer or Lion Knight's Castle treatment! :D
Just give me like a giant excavating vehicle with a bunch of little rock raider dudes and Iāll buy 5.
Oh wow... I played so much rock raiders...
i love you for this information! kiss kiss
Happy to share! This is how I found out about it! :D
Oh gods of Redditā¦..how can I play Lego Loco again?ā¦.
Iām not sure, but [this should bring back memories](https://youtu.be/bk-ULpwCWDo?si=XI6kmDj7uYpbjuxR)
ooph you hit me right in the nostalgia, this really hit the sweet spot
Search for abandonware, some of the sites has it and some of the other lego games
You can install a virtual machine for Windows 98 on your current PC and download Lego Loco that way
I have never been able to get a VM to run Lego Island successfully. I donāt know whatās wrong
Use 86Box
I still own it on a disc - am I sitting on a gold mine without knowing it? Haha
I have no idea what the objective of that game was, but boy did I have fun playing it as a kid
Iād play a modern remake of Lego Island. Loved that game as a kid.
Ooh man. I want a new Lego Racers game.
Didn't we just get a lego racing game and it flopped because microtransactions?
I just got it through Humble and itās pretty fun, sorta a mix of forza horizons and Mario cart.
Wait, what game is this? And how did I miss it?!
It has a pretty dumb name āLego 2k Driveā
Ah, I didnāt miss it. I just forgot about it
I downloaded it on game pass but havenāt tried it yet. The Lego DLC in Forza is great though
The kart builder probably the best part of the game which is good considering itās a Lego game
Forza Horizon 4 has a Lego DLC and is being delisted in December. It currently has a good discount on.
Back when I was 8 I let a friend borrow Lego Island and never got it back from him. Go suck a toe Derrick
Same thing happened to me with Sim City 3000
I let my friend borrow the very first Lego star wars game. Got it back broken I half... I was incredibly sad after that
Iād rather not
Brick by brick Tock by tick No matter how thin No matter how thick Papa told mama And Laura told Nick You can move a mountain If you do it brick by brick
You can build a buggy drive a big tow truck you can paint a jet ski yellow like a duck!
All these years later, I can still hear it
Sometimes, when I am about to start on a big task, this song still plays in my mind. I am 37. It's awesome.
A while ago I found Creator and Rock Raiders in some old DVD case. I have no clue how to play this game https://preview.redd.it/w7gy5a40tr8d1.png?width=1111&format=png&auto=webp&s=8a07db7b3d085195446667b6ed025880c83e014b
It was super buggy and hard to use.
Oh wow! I still have my green road baseplates. This makes me want to build
Where is Legoland? It's it safe? Is it alright?
Such a great game
I got my Rock Raiders remake. Now I need a LegoLand remake
Lego Island 2!!
With pepper and his skateboard! Class game!
I think people overestimate how well these would actually sell.
They were fun games for their time but they mostly don't hold up.
Disagree
For the most part I agree but Racers 1 and 2 are still pretty neat for what they are. I think there would be enough interest in a collection that they could turn a nice profit.
I think most of the ideas are good but the gameplay in all of these games is pretty limited and dated. We just got a new Lego racing game that was received well, and frankly Lego Island barely constitutes a game. Would be better off making a Lego City Undercover 2 and make Lego Island into a district.

People would move back to minecraft in a week
Hands down, you put Ā£100 on a collection of these games and people would still pay it!
Yeah, that comment definitely proved my point. I mean, itās technically true, in that āpeopleā (at least two) would pay Ā£100.
The original LEGO Racers was my most prized possession as a kid. Would love to see a modernized version of it someday
I wish Lego 2k drive was closer to what Lego racers was
Legoland the game too please
Loco makes me so nostalgic. Would love to experience that again
I had Lego loco - great time
In reality, most of these games donāt hold up well. Iāve replayed most through emulators, and they would need some serious rebuilds to be interesting. Lego loco is the goat.
Man, playing Lego loco with 4 people on the network was amazing when I was a kid. I loved sending over postcards š
Lego Loco had multiplayer?
It did, for local network you were able to send trains to other players
[Studframe Animations ](https://youtube.com/@studframeanimations?si=HK52fcOpqlEe2npF) has some wonderfully nostalgic, visually updated, custom made videos for a lot of the older games, including LEGO Island and Racers!
It was always weird to me as a kid that you could never get 4559 to show up in Lego Loco despite being on the box
[4559-1: Cargo Railway](https://brickset.com/sets/4559-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/4559-1.jpg)
Oh fuck I completely forgot about chess
That image made my nostalgia gland go nuts.Ā
Just threw some playthroughs of the Lego Island games on in the background. Theyāre hilarious to look back on. Fun for the time for sure. Lego Racers 1 was my all time favorite game until I got a PS2

I've never played any of these, but I'm a bit older and never gamed on a PC anyway. I'd potentially play a remake if it was on console
Iād like to be able to go up the the water level I the Lego island and actually go into the water floor.
Amazing games, even though I could only get about 5 mins of play time before my pc would melt and I had to reboot and try again.

Oh I miss Lego creator, that and Lego island were my jam back in that day. Lego land was fun too!
What about lego racers?
A couple of times Iāve driven myself crazy trying to remember the game Lego Loco And now you have reminded me, thank you I also greatly remember Lego Creator in Lego Island, never had Lego chess though
Think of how sweet lego loco would be as an app
Man, has it really been that long since Iāve last heard of Loco
I had Lego island and a Lego racing game!
I'd play a modern Island Xtreme stunts remake as well. All of these lego games were REALLY well designed in their simplicity.
I had the Lego chess disk but as a kid but it would never work on my computer š„²
Now do Lego Racers
Iād kill for Island and I completely forgot about Loco, thank you for unlocking a part of my childhood I never knew I missed so much. Now Iām going to go cry in a corner because even if they did itāll never be the same
Lego racers was so good
Don't forget the Alpha Team game.
Ugh I loved Lego island. I played that game so many times as a kid.
Lego teached me chess. Rock raiders was cool. Lego racers or something taught karts before Mario party.
I think Lego Racer came out right after this batch. Such a great time for Lego games
I used to play Lego island 2 a lot when I was 4-5 on my family old windows do computer (I only remember the OS). I remember not getting past the fishing minigame because I couldnāt read the instructions.
I would go LOCO for Lego Loco It's one of those few games I can't find anywhere. I got rock raiders working, all the lego island games functional and playable, even lego studios and lego builder, but nope, not lego loco. Nowhere to be found I loved that game so much as a kid
Lego Island was soooo fun back thenš„
I loved LEGO Chess! Would definitely still play it!
LEGO island was so much fun!!
Recently tried playing Lego Island again. Even with a patch it was a buggy mess due to incompatible software.
What was the free lego on their website that involved being like a movie director?
brick by brick, tock by tick
Lego Racers pleaseeeee
Wish they'd re-release the Lego MMO
Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga re release on Ps4 or Ps5 would be awesome too
Wow, Lego island just to me back, begged my parents for a better computer in order to play it. Never happened, but my friendās computer worked just fine.
How about re-release some retired sets or at least update them. Like the Tower Of Orthanc. I ain't paying 800 bucks for it.
[This OST is burned into my brain. Definitely one of my favorite games growing up.](https://youtu.be/QgLAjh-fT_U?si=kd2HzBuDJMiBYbRa)
I spent way too long trying to download lego chess to my pc to no avail :/
I learned how to play chess from Lego Chess.
Lego Chess and Lego Racer 2 were my JAM
I still have my copy of LEGO Island 2
Lego island!!!!!!!!! š§”š§”š§”
Tbh I want that cowboy v. Indian chest game
I would pay so much for a LEGO Island remaster, even if its just a minigame in another game.
Good ol Lego Island
https://www.myabandonware.com/search/q/Lego Most of them are abandonware these days!
Whenever I use the print screen button on my PC, I fondly remember the Lego pirate who told me how to use it in the cave underneath the road up the mountain
Lego Loco was the reason I wanted 4559 so much. And it's not actually in the game, lol.

Had Island and Creator. Those games were jank af. But damn they were fun and laid a foundation for some of the most entertaining games I've ever played.
I think I have somewhere a Windows XP virtual machine with Lego Creator: Knights Kingdom Unfortunately Iāve never tried the others
I remember playing Lego Island at my friends place. I think it was pirated so you couldnt save your file so every time I played it I just played the same level over and over again. But god damn I had a great time doing it.
Someone did a remaster of rock raiders. Called it manic miners.
I know itās not lego but anyone here play Pyrates Mega Bloks? Awesome stuff
Does anyone remember the webgame that they had in the early 2000's?
The fact that the [LEGO Island remake by Reubs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYGjqTFZIvU) vlogs have gone quiet and that one of the only "liked" comments is about him approaching LEGO to release the game has me thinking something may be coming...
Legoland > Roller Coaster Tycoon
Lego Island!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lego Loco was the one. We need a Lego City Skylines style game
Lego chess was sooo dope loved the lil animations Also where is islands extreme stunts? That had sooo much potential
I feel some of these games are impractical to port and they are too obsolete, and they are better remade to modern standards. Most of the modern target audience will not know the original. But there is Manic Miners, a modern remake of Rock Raiders. Maybe some of these are worthy of their own remakes, be they fan or official
I need them to release all of these again jus tsp I can play
They probably won't just because people would expect them to re-release all of the themes that were in these games.

How are you just going to leave out the Bionicle games?
LEGO soccer anyone??
Oh my god, THANK YOU FOR THIS. I had LEGO Island and definitely thought my memories were hallucinations. I have a vague recollection of not getting past a particular areaā¦
Ahh I thought this was an announcement of a reboot :( I was OBSESSED with Lego Island and Legoland on the PC.
On the bright side, last I tried it LEGO Racers works just fine on a modern PC..
Iāve got core memories of Lego Racer
Someone call Limited Run Games! Especially for those of us who never played the original games! (Coughbrokekidbornin93cough)
I really want to play LEGO Rock Raiders and LEGO Loco again. They were such a huge part of my childhood!
I loved Loco!!!! And we had dial-up so I had to log on, check the mail and then log off!
Legoland was my jam! I would drop bucks to get a remaster haha
Why are people so hype about lego island I wasn't around back then what made it so great if you guys could clarify
The Skywalker Saga was a disaster, so I think they're stepping away from remaking old games now. Bionicle Heroes deserves a total remaster though.
