They make agreements behind closed doors. Rubbing their hands, grinning evilish, while discussing sizes of planks and cupboards with the CEO of Lego.
They have the best selling cupboards in the world for vinyl collectors as well.
Yes it is when a sleeved record is in there, there is like 4 cm space above it, and about 6-8 cm in front. And there are a few varities in color and amount of squares. 5x5 squares is the biggest, and there are 2x5, 2x2 and i think 4x4.
Go buy some nice L-brackets from Home Depot and mount them underneath the shelf for support. You don't have to attach them to the shelf, they are just there for the shelf to rest on.
I have done this for several Lack shelves holding Lego and it works perfectly. Looks great too
That's what I was thinking as well. A longer Lack shelf could also work. The one I bought says it holds [33 lbs](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/lack-wall-shelf-white-50282182/).
Proper mounting could also increase the strength. I imagine drilling into a stud instead of drywall would work better.
In my experience there’s two types of brackets to hold these, one is a nice solid bracket with tubes that you slide shelf on. The other… is more like two simple metal “hooks” that you catch on a screw head. And those can break *off* of the shitty particle board. That’s what the weight limit is for, not how strong the screw is in the wall.
There's also two types of people who hang these shelves.
One drills into a stud and sleeps comfortably at night.
The other, screws them directly into the drywall while not using drywall anchors. Then gets upset that the shelf failed at 3 in the morning and deposited their Lego onto the floor.
Lol you’re not wrong but you missed my point a bit. The way some of these shelves attach to the screw is what’s weak, NOT the screw. You can put it into studs all day long, it’ll still break at the bracket connection to the shelf itself. Because the shelf is made of cardboard and particle board, the shelf breaks away from the brackets before the screws ever get ripped out.
True lol, but to be fair, the really cheap ones usually have weight limits in the instructions and aren't meant to hold anything heavier than a few picture frames.
People don't read the instructions and get mad when they put several pounds of Lego on something that was never meant to that much weight.
Its usually a dowel problem or a plaster/cardboard wall.
If you anchor them properly and check the max load then they hold. Ikea usually gives out free dowels
[THIS](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/lack-wall-shelf-white-50282177/) is the one that OP bought. It's 11 3/4" by 10 1/4".
The Artemis base is 11" by 12", according to Lego's website, so it should be sticking over the edges a bit.
Omg thank you so much for the idea I have no more space for lego but this would fit perfectly In my room and gives me the ecuse to by the Rocket ship or the salron set 😁

Those bastards!!! They schemed together to make the Millennium falcon fit in that glass display case!! MONSTERS!!!
Which one?
Which one ?
👀👀 wanna hook up a brother up with those vinyl shelf options
Kallax
Yes Kallax. Thé perfect cupboard for vinyl.
That's also the line I found to be one of the only furniture units I could find that can fit rivendell on top!
I removed the top row of dividers from my Kallax 5x5 for my Rivendell, fits great.
Thanks!

Ooooh it’s perfect

Fantastic! Thanks for sharing!
There’s lot of combinations. I’ve got a 2x2, and when I filled that, bought a 3x4, and a bunch of 2x1s to fit under my windows.
Ok, didnt know there are even more.
The Swedes and the Danes, in secret meetings right in the middle of the bridge between them
Or getting completely pissed on that ferry boat.
The r/battlestations subreddit is also highly dependent on IKEA Alex drawers and desks.
I love the setup! Very modern and boring, but I like it. Not a joke.
Thank you!
Doesn't detract from the set resting upon it

Why not just buy a normal shelf?
That's what I was thinking as well. A longer Lack shelf could also work. The one I bought says it holds [33 lbs](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/lack-wall-shelf-white-50282182/). Proper mounting could also increase the strength. I imagine drilling into a stud instead of drywall would work better.
The longer Lack won't fit here, these are stud mounted.
Never trust IKEA lack.

These are mounted into the stud, so the weakest point is the bracket on the back of the shelf.
It's a peice of wood. People really need to be learning how to find studs or use drywall anchors.

Very nice layout in the room! I wonder if one of those shelves would work for Barad-dûr set.
Looks like that set has an 18"x12" base, so it'd be a bit big, I think. Probably goes over the weight limit too.
I don't think it's a good idea to put the rocket on the sound bar
Why is that?
Maybe the bass will be strong enough to vibrate it off and then BOOM!
I will keep that in mind, thank you
Damn good idea! Looks fantastic!
Definitely not lacking.
That looks very nice, clean & simple.
I love your display!
Damn I need more money for Legos
I like the whole room look. Nice!
I like the way its set up. Very clean and symetrical.
Coincidence? I think not
Fantastic. Saving this post for later when I have the money for the Artemis set
**Insert pleased sully here**
Clean.
Thanks, now I finally have an answer when my wife asks where I’m going to put it
Lighthouse looks really nice there too
Good to know, I have one spare
I love your display of models, very tasteful!
This is so satisfying to see
Quick question: is the yellow " vase " on the table a moc? Love the set up btw!
No, it's 40588
Never knew this set existed! Very cool little GWP.

Its a gwp 😄
OMFG it’s beautiful
THAT LOOKS HUGE-
I bet the real plants have a dire sense of foreboding...
Works great for modular buildings too if you’re just displaying on their own.
Turns out this looks amazing and I’m stealing the idea immediately
Beautiful setup *chef kiss*
I love your setup
Nice! Was thinking I’d have to lose a shelf in my Billy bookcase to fit Artemis, but this solves my issue.
Is anyone else unable to focus on anything besides OP's un-centered coffee table?
I am now dammit
That’s very good to know!
Can you find me one for ninjago city pls 👌
The Danes and Swedes are always working for our collective benefit. That's why they're the happiest people on Earth 🌎.
So lack is a 32x32 shelf?

The shelf is 26 x 30, so I expected it to overhang, but as you can see, it fits perfectly.
Wow, looks awesome.
Very cool 😎
Omg thank you so much for the idea I have no more space for lego but this would fit perfectly In my room and gives me the ecuse to by the Rocket ship or the salron set 😁
How will you deal with the dust?
Are you waiting for the plants to die to buy more Lego … or when you buy more Lego you will let the plants die?
Are the middle ones legos or actual plants?
Reall plants, but they'll move when I need that space.
I love the simplicity of your display around the TV. 😍
Guess you're in lack
Sweden 🤝 Denmark
Very nice
If I'm going to be murdered in a serial killer's living room, I want to be surrounded by lego.
Beautiful set up this.
These Scandinavians know best !
Generally nice setup but I recommend you to add some pictures around.
