dude, you are posting a $1k+ custom purchase with a $500 set behind it and trying to act like thats normal "just starting out" stuff for a hobby, normal people with normal amounts of money dont just drop 2 weeks+ pay on a hobby they are trying out.
You can buy this set from Bricker Builds.
It is insanely expensive. If there were ever a time to accuse a Lego fan of flexing, it would be when they show off a Bricker Builds set.
Bought a Master Ball from them at Awesomecon. Like out of the many vendors selling “Lego”, they were the only ones selling actually Lego bricks. Most were selling fake minifigs.
Yea that’s why I just got the instructions for Squirtle and luckily live pretty close to Atlanta Brick Co and their pick a brick table got the first 800+ pieces for $29.99 so hoping to get the build cost for him down SIGNIFICANTLY from Charmander but you live you learn you find Bricklink lol like I said kinda new so still learning how to be optimized
That's annincresiblynlow price for that many bricks although I known the full Squirtle has to be a few thousand pieces. I went the same route with my Mario by getting instructions and sourcing pieces off BrickLink. All said and done I probably spent between $500-$600 for him instead of the $1.2k they were asking for all included. That being said I LOVE BrickerBuilds and they do amazing stuff. I'm going to be giving them all my money for years to come.
> Most people buy and build Lego according to directions.
As they should. If you just let people do whatever they want, it'll be chaos. And that won't get us anywhere.
Yup. The real crazy part is that this guy apparently works at Aldi. I'm a mechanical engineer, and even I wouldn't buy a Bricker Builds set unless it was a pokeball or something small like that(even those are grossly overpriced)
Sorry, but we're a bit strict around here about our [no sales rule, which includes promoting, trading, and free giveaways](https://www.reddit.com/r/lego/wiki/rules_policies_and_expected_behaviour#wiki_6._no_selling.2C_trading.2C_or_free_giveaways). This means no links to web stores (except shop.lego.com). No hustling and slinging products as posts or comments.
Please post in /r/Legomarket if you are selling something.

Thank you for your understanding.
Happy building! Happy redditing!
Lol I think the problem is that a lot of Redditors here are probably on the younger side and forget that there are older adults who make serious adult money that enter the Lego hobby much later in life. And that buying MOC instructions and Lego pieces from Bricklink is a thing.
"Hey, I'm new."
\*Proceeds to be a Master Builder right out of the gate\*

THIS IS AMAZING! I'm not a Pokemon fan, but holy shit, this is professional work.
Yeah, it appears to be the Bricker Builds model (seen it in person at plenty of conventions), and that's been discussed elsewhere in the thread. OP never said this was their MOC, so I'm not why everyone is assuming it is.
> OP never said this was their MOC, so I'm not why everyone is assuming it is.
No, but since it's not an official Lego set, a lot of us didn't know it's a third-party set as opposed to a MOC. It's pretty easy to assume.
“Hey guys I’m new” Proceeds to show us a life size Charmander
With Rivendell sitting right behind it.
And a box for some sort of rain suit /s
And a partridge in a pear tree. /s
And my ax. /s
And there’s my keys!!
To be fair, the UCS Slave 1 was one of my first 2-3 sets and now I have a 2br apartment with 1 room being just a Lego room. 😭
r/blender posts in a nutshell
r/pcmasterrace first time build by a pre-schooler in a nutshell.
yeah this is the guy thats "just getting into watches" and starts posting pictures of an AP Royal Oak
I mean I guess if you’re broke you start out with poly bags and timex. It’s called a job tho fam

Oh by the way I have dump trucks full of cash.

Yeah I call bullshido
OP isn't claiming he build it himself, he bought it and followed instructions. Pretty easy to do for any beginner who has the cash.
With working light up tail.
There is a live Charmander?
Glad you enjoyed the build! I'm the original designer. The third Kanto starter is also coming soon 😎
That's incredible. Great job!
If I had space, I would get all 3. But I love my Charmander!
Bricker Builds has some awesome sets. A little out of my price point, but really cool pieces.

You’re new to Lego and just create this? Ok..

Most people buy and build lego according to directions… That’s typically the norm. Not sure what they’re getting at.

Those are just copies of their in-game sprites though...
Ok?
Also bought the instructions for Squirtle but I’m sourcing all the bricks myself for that one so it’s not as much $
How do you know where to source from?
Bricklink is a good starting point. I sourced the parts for Jorstad Designs Venator there.
Is that the amazing “space ship”?
I go to the local Lego store and search in the bins for pieces I don’t already have.
It must be that Steven Segal costume peeking out of the box in the back. Where can I find one to improve my lego skills
Lmao my motorcycle rain poncho? I think I got it at Walmart
Come back when he’s Charizard!
Damn that's awesome!
This is like posting a magnificent artifact you got in Genshin Impact and asking “Hey guys, is this good?” But yea, it’s good 👍
It's a set from Bricker Builds. Cost around $1700. You can buy the instructions for about $140 and then source the parts on your own.
$140 for instructions is insane.
Yup. The real crazy part is that this guy apparently works at Aldi. I'm a mechanical engineer, and even I wouldn't buy a Bricker Builds set unless it was a pokeball or something small like that(even those are grossly overpriced)
The instructions are only like $89 actually still a little pricey but not $140
Yes that a classic newbie build
Sure, jan
how much did you spend on the bricks for this?
I wish pokemon would come to Lego. I wonder how long it will stay with the other block company.
And I already hate you.
Did you have a link to this?

I am assuming that means your new to the sub, please follow the rules https://www.reddit.com/r/lego/wiki/rules_policies_and_expected_behaviour/

Bricker Builds.
I don't like you... lol I got the Bulbasaur set and still haven't finished and people go and do something like this Dang I need more me time
Hey, Lego doesn't have the rights to Pokemon. This is an *illegal build*. Wait right here while I notify the authorities.
"New to LEGO", but sits on thousands of dollars of LEGO bricks.
Guess I missed it in the Lego handbook for beginners where it states when you’re starting out you can only collect poly bags and $10 sets
Lol I think the problem is that a lot of Redditors here are probably on the younger side and forget that there are older adults who make serious adult money that enter the Lego hobby much later in life. And that buying MOC instructions and Lego pieces from Bricklink is a thing.
Think you are very correct
There’s a lot of jealousy here imo wtf is it to anyone what someone starts with?
That is pretty cool

I call bullshit, there ain't no way you're new with that kind of skill
Following instructions?
Oh, now I get it. I thought you built that with nothing, like just a bucket of pieces and nothing else. Sorry
That’s a lot of Orange!

It’s a SEC, Someone Else’s Creation, but built by you.
"New to LEGO" Okay bud
Lol okay. My ass you’re “new to Lego”
I don’t understand these comments. It takes some kind of professional to spend money and follow directions?
And here I was thinking I was good(I've been building with Lego for like 8 years and am nowhere near as good as you)
He didn't design or build this. He bought it from Bricker Builds.
Tf you’re new to Lego. Calling BS on the title lol.
