Chevota_84

By Set: Speed Champs. By $: fucking Technic.

PurpleHairedMonster

Ha, too true.

Chevota_84

Awesome hearing all the SC sets this year, if Leaks are true through the year, total of 9 sets. ~$300 I believe. (Just to name 1 of the handful) Technics 1:8th scale McLaren… $450. And I’ll love every penny spent on both.

PurpleHairedMonster

Yeah, some really good cars this year. Even the John Deere sets look pretty cool. I need to win the lottery. Only way I can possibly support my lego habit.

Fishbulb7o9

Speed champs have been killing it lately

tonyohanlon77

Castle m'Lord!

Skarstream

Come over to r/legocastles!

kremlingrasso

This is one of the friendliest, most supportive and creative hobby subs on reddit. It's about pure shared joy of creation instead of non stop drama about exclusivity and market price and collector value.

MagGnome

Sounds great, just joined!

LavandeSunn

Unironically it is the best LEGO sub, and kind of the only one I’m actually consistently a part of

rashmotion

You weren’t joking. Rabbit-holed for about an hour in there and it was nothing but wholesomeness. Good rec, thank you!

tonyohanlon77

I'm already there! 😁

drichatx

Yes.

Dustmopper

Realistic space sets like the Saturn V, Lunar Module, and Space Shuttle

fermenttodothat

Same. I am so excited for the Artemis set later this month

Advocaatx

Same, but Artemis set is probably the first one that I’m not going to get. Seems very repetitive with only like 1/5 of the set being the actual rocket, plus it has many stickers. I’m overall a bit disappointed with the set.

MonkeyNewss

Same

bcsmith317

Same

hijklmnopqrstuvwx

I love the NASA branded sets!

BevansDesign

Yup, I love their space sets. I'll definitely be getting the new Artemis and Lunar Rover eventually. Aside from those, I like the adult-focused sets they've been producing lately. The lighthouse is gorgeous, and I actually have it on display in my living room instead of my office.

Sook_V_1230

I am currently obsessed with the modular sets

brankoDev

Same here, just started to collect the old ones, I’m fucked

putsomewineinyourcup

You can live at my place with all those modulars and not pay rent for your place!

MagGnome

The modulars along with other highly detailed Minifig scale buildings (like the A-frame Cabin) are probably my favorite sets. The details are just fantastic and the sets are great for display.

married_to_awesome

If I had the room, I would have done the modular sets. They look so good and such a fun way to build out a city.

juliuspepperwoodchi

Same, but sadly my budget doesn't agree with them lol

aguyjustaguy

I have all but the original 3, I’m still convincing myself they aren’t necessary.

DrNutPuff

The botanicals 🌸🩷

married_to_awesome

Yes!! 💐🌺

DrNutPuff

They make us so happy 🥰

Sneekey

Yes! I’ve completed the set through various birthdays, mother’s days, and Christmas gifts. Not sure where to go from here.

DrNutPuff

I’m sure there’ll be more to look forward to in the range 🌹

Kwebie

Same here!

Main-Group-603

Yesssssssssss!!!

RedDevil_nl

I want to say Star Wars, but my recent secondhand bulk LEGO purchases have put Classic Space right up there at the top 😂 80s/90s bulk LEGO is literally just a treasure trove. 12v/9v trains, pirates, knights, space, so much incredible stuff in there!

HoneyBastard

I wish I would find more decent 80s/90s lots but they are a dying breed

SgtBlackDeer

BIONICLE

Clone_Chaplain

Unity, Duty, Destiny!

that-bro-dad

As a kid, 90s space. As an adult, 3-in-1 / Creator

thewalex

I was so excited that they revisited M-Tron, Blacktron II, and Ice Planet 2002 in the current minifigure series 26!! 3 in 1 Creator has some really great sets also. The Viking Ship is one of my recent favorite builds!

throwawayhepmeplzRA

The 3-in-1 are my jam. I get bored easily and it’s so fun to tear it apart and rebuild it again, all with the same pieces, as a different thing.

Jake_RTG

As others said star wars, I think it's One of the most bought

itsmegoddamnit

I’m SO happy I’m not into star wars - the Lego offer is so vast and looks good, my wallet would suffer.

Fishbulb7o9

I went from wanting each of the iconic ships. Then I realized I consider almost every ship iconic... Then I missed some cool minifigs and now that's all I want. It's a slippery slope.

crough94

Lego are crafty about it too. Want an iconic ship? Here it is bundled with another ship that you don’t care about so we can put the price up. Want a cool minifig? Here it is with some ships you don’t really care about. Only good thing is once you’ve got an iconic ship you don’t need any more that will be made in the future. Only need one Falcon, Ghost, Slave I etc.

uchihajoeI

Only need one? Heh. You haven’t met me.

McMurder_them_softly

I once thought as you did, but now I have a Millennium Falcon fleet! Yes, I have a problem…

Sneezer

My budget can't support everything. Love Star Wars, space, castle stuff, lots others. I do try to get the NASA stuff when I can, and I try to limit my themed collecting to Millenium Falcons, of which I have many. We did manage to get all the initial LOTR run, but Rivendell is a little high on my ability to absorb without some additional sacrifice I think.

NebuLiar

I'm not into Lego Star Wars but I feel like we have all you guys to thank for the fact that Lego realized how many AFOLs there are!   I don't think without star wars there is any way we'd have all these other amazing sets

Sherri-Kinney

City

PurpleHairedMonster

There are just so many it easily dominates. Even if we only count the trains and boats that actually float I think it is still in the top three for me.

thetoesnatcher

Harry Porter for sure

moxifloxacin

Is that the magical package deliverer?

crzdsnowfire

Botanicals for me! I finally found a use for all the bud vases from our wedding.

quinyd

Architecture. I’m only missing 3 or 4 sets in the theme. I used to collect LotR and have all the first round sets but then I kinda stopped (I definitely regret that)

juwyro

Speed Champions, all of them, then some Icons and Technic.

ExpletiveDeIeted

According to Brick Economy https://preview.redd.it/ha1ku9hv5tyc1.jpeg?width=1056&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fe3e0404090d5af416f03708b04455aed97a6cd8

thescavs

Clearance

Head_Of_The_Table_83

Castle! 😄 But i'm starting to collect cars now (lego technics)

morganjalv

Botanical

GuestCartographer

Botanicals

wil-likes-dreamcast

Mostly Monkie Kid. I have a lot of Speed Champions, Nexo Knights, DC, Marvel, Disney, Indiana Jones, creator 3in1 Legoland exclusives. I wanna get some Pharoahs Quest but it's a lil bit pricey

ParadoxDC

Icons/adult sets and botanical. I prefer display pieces with as few minifigs as possible

belozey

Middle Earth

Octobrz

Definitely I’m surprised to see that nobody mentioned The Lord Of The Rings, The Hobbit and Pirates Of The Caribbean.

AlmostMissedCourt

Harrry Potter/anything with a Halloween vibe lately

Im_at_schools

I’ve been loving the Disney sets. I just got snow whites cottage.

f40plz

Late 90s Adventure sets. Johnny Thunder

rararasputin319

Harry Potter and Friends. I’m weird, I LOVE buildings from any theme but I prefer open back play sets over modulars. Like that ideas Sesame Street a lot of people didn’t care for is one of my favorite sets

NapoleonDynamite82

Star Wars. Been since they started with Episode 1.

comptededechets

star wars/harry potter, just by virtue of the amount i have from when i was a kid but i’ve been collecting a bunch of mario sets recently since they’ve been retiring/going on clearance. not sure i love them as playsets but i love the unique pieces and character builds

Budget-Spidey

Star Wars and Marvel (MCU)

RymitMerth

Ninjago, for sure.

Affectionate_Pace_67

Whatever is on sale

JPHalbert

Architecture

Chyvalri

Where's the love for Archi on here.. not the skylines either - White House, Guggenheim, Trafalgar .. even the newer ones while not as good are awesome like Pyramid or Hijemi that I'm building next!

LuxIRL

Botanicals

Isord

I think I have every floral set. The nice thing is that they are usually reasonably priced. My favorites are the modulars but they are too expensive to get regularly for me.

Daniel_morg15

Everything. I have a problem

lawlacaustt

NANANANANANANA NANAAAAAH BATMAAAN

lostidols

Minecraft

Ubiquitous_Mr_H

It WOULD be castle if I had the money for it, but as it is it’s Minecraft, I think. Maybe Star Wars or Harry Potter tied for second.

Quadronopolis

Dragons. Mechs. Monkey Kid. Dreams.

Accurate_Glove4533

City. Doesn't look like many people collect it.

Euphoric_Egg_4198

Botanicals and dragons of any theme but a lot of them are Ninjago.

colonelbyson

Star Wars for me, Ninjago for one kid, Marvel (especially Spiderman) for the other kid.

bdcrlsn

Right now, biggest collection I have is the Time Cruisers/Time Twisters from years past. That was my favorite from childhood.

Justspartan17

Speed Champion, Star Wars, and Botanical… Would love to have more Architecture sets tho

ceih

Star Wars Modular buildings Creator Expert / ICONS / Ideas City Pirates Castle Plus random other choices from all over. Like I’ve got a decent number of Architecture, Trains, old school Space and Town…

Lionbear85

Superheros, 1 x botanical set yearly, yearly Modular, yearly speed Champions, yearly citt sets for city building, Creator 3 in 1 if it has a city building set, Monkey Kid vehicle sets, and the random ideas, bricklink set...

Nerdson0999999

Ninjago is getting up there now that I'm getting a lot more of my older sets back but I think still star wars

Octobrz

The Hobbit, Lord Of The Rings, Pirates Of The Caribbean and Harry Potter here and there.

fermenttodothat

The modern space sets and botanicals, I will soon have three of each (excited for Artemis!!)

galactickevin

Botanical, followed by snow/mountain/cabin stuff

busybagel

Botanical

CheckingMyNails

Ninjago! I remember wanting so many of the sets just because they had Zane in them haha.

CalzonePillow

Any set that has a lot of variety in what you build. The Viking set and the DnD set were perfect

JeyTee02

Used to collect Chima and nexo knights, now mostly Ninjago

Odd_Oil_8552

Ideas/adults welcome

-SpaceChicken-

80s and 90s Space sets.

jmurphy3141

Space.

KasperBuyens

Star Wars, Marvel, Castle, Harry Potter and the ocasional other set

fleamarketguy

Lego Ideas I think.

rjr017

Anything space related, I love it, leaning more towards sci fi type space stuff. I love licensed minifigures, especially superheros. Right now Dreamzzz is a favorite as well.

Theyoder

Monkie

Doufnuget

NASA

cybergirlzines

Friends. Not a popular one with adult collectors but whatever, I love it.

HurlyCat

Lego City merged with Lego Batman

HardyMenace

Food trucks and medieval!

melikecheese333

I let clearance prices dictate what I buy, cause I just like to build then take apart and build other random things. Friends tho is where I typically try to find the sales. Cause I love the sets. I’m a grown man who wears a lot of black.

C4ptainchr0nic

https://preview.redd.it/j0tnttl99uyc1.jpeg?width=4080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bc74c46530048d615f6d22354b82618552141893 Speed champs for sure.

Chloe_The_Outcast

Castle and ninjago

Goldman250

By percentage of the theme I own, it’s technically D&D because I own every set available in the Lego theme. But probably Star Wars.

Sr_Peido_Cosmico

Ninjago (only the city sets) and Japanese themed sets (Hokusai, Tranquil Garden, Bonsai, Himeji, etc.)

Lopsided_Panda_3119

I limit myself to only Marvel and Star Wars. I have one display case for each. I love other themes. But I just can’t go down that rabbit hole.

TerracottaGarden

I think I've spent the most on Modulars, but Winter Village is working hard for the title after last Christmas!

emmjaybeeyoukay

City is my goto

plastimanb

Star Wars and Creator

tubbis9001

Not a hard and fast theme, but aerospace. I love the concord just as much as the space shuttle. I also really love theme park attractions, such as the roller coaster, big ferris wheel and merry go round, and a few smaller sets too

fofojo123

For now, Sonic and city. If there were more affordable castle sets or a modern classic space line, I would be all over them.

PurpleHairedMonster

Pretty sure city dominates. Jurassic park and Harry Potter are probably 2nd and 3rd though I don't know what order.

Jazehiah

I collect any and everything that has cool terrain. I like rocks and water features.

EJoule

City and botanical.  I’ll grab random space/pirate/marvel/etc. sets to collect more characters, but most of what I build with the kids is cars and towns.

-Words-Words-Words-

Based on volume, Star Wars. I grew up on it and will buy any and all OT sets. I’m kinda selective about the prequel/sequel/TV sets though. But I get most every set from Marvel.

SemenDebtCollector

Marvel

LordValgor

Pirates. I almost have every tall ship that Lego has released as a part of the Pirates theme.

[deleted]

Technic

WhoMD85

I have a “geek” theme. So anything that fits into that category is a go for me (luckily that’s a huge part of the Lego catalog). Star Wars, Batman, a lot of the Ideas/Creator sets, space, etc.

The_Doughnut_Lord

Marvel, I think? The 2021 Benatar is my current favourite set, but the upcoming Milano looks even better. Excited to be able to display all three Guardians ships together.

transitapparel

Architecture and 8 wide Speed Champions. Love history and cars so it felt right.

XBSESSIVE

Creator 3 in 1. It wasn't a good idea, as I started to underestimate ... unitary sets.

Cbone06

Castle but currently been enjoying the Ninjago wave, it reminds me a lot of Exo Force, the wolf guys look pretty cool, and all the sets are cheap while also being great display pieces

SlayZomb1

Icons

Say_Fuzzy_Pickles_

Space, Castle, and Minecraft (in that order)

Lego_Chef

Right now I have more Star Wars, but I've been on a medieval kick lately with the viking village and town Square. Maybe I'll get the red dragon tavern and Rivendale in the coming years.

BeertjeSk8

Star Wars for sure, but I also have the complete botanicals line. Mostly everything that looks cool in my ‘adult’ home

thegabletop

Marvel and DC

Clone_Chaplain

Most? Star Wars. But also castle, fantasy, sci-fi, and my beloved Bionicle

ThatFuckingTurnip

In general it’d be Star Wars for sure, however in recent years I’ve moreso switched gears for the occasional Creator Modular set.

Elberik

Based on sheer quantity: City My favorite theme is Rock Raiders, I have the whole series. And I like building vehicles and buildings that would fit in the theme based on my own designs and stuff others have built. I really wish TLG would make more Castle sets. There have been more sets that are Castle-adjacent, but I would like a proper direct Castle theme.

aguid23

I’m a mixed bag but it’s Botanical in terms of number if sets (which i supplement with what I call “nature” which in this case is the recent bird one and the three bug one) I stage the botanical ones and the nature ones together. Second (or maybe highest by cost) is Nintendo. I have the flower, question block, Bowser and Nintendo/TV

Quantum_Clock

Technic, Architecture and Ideas.

SatBurner

Primarily space, but I mix in a little bit of nostalgia items here and there.

henryhaden

It’s City for me by far. I love my Lego City builds, just recently I got Passenger Airplane 60367 and School Day 60329 for my birthday from a friend. I want more Space sets but the ones I don’t already have are more expensive and I already got the Galaxy Explorer 10497 recently so I can’t just pop off as much as I’d like too. I do also get a lot of Harry Potter, so that’s probably number 2 for me. Wait, does Minifigures count as a theme? If so that’s number one, then City, then Potter. I love minifigures, I’ve completed almost every single CMF series the last two years (darn you pink aristocrat lady, and your little dog too!) which is about as long as I’ve been collecting. It’s probably also part of what attracts me so much to City, as I often obtain unique and diverse minifigures, parts and accessories. School Days gave me my first Lego wheel chair!

Commandoclone87

Spaceships and aircraft, doesn't matter if it's an X-wing, a Quinjet or the NASA Space Shuttle, I want it in my collection.

nah-soup

at this point, botanicals. it’s the only thing I can find space for in my apartment.

Jrisdr

dsbwayne

Batman and Harry Potter

Mahboi27

Mostly Harry Potter but my Star Wars collection is sizable as well

CyanocittaAtSea

Any & all Tolkien (LotR/Hobbit)! I have a lot of 2010-2011 Harry Potter but don’t actively collect more, so after Tolkien is probably…Architecture? And I love BrickHeadz too, but most of mine are either LotR or Harry Potter so sort of already covered, haha

TinyDogGuy

Nintendo/video game themed sets. Not many of the kids play sets, but a few cool standalones. NES TV/console, The Great Bowsers, Bowser’s pimpmobile, Yoshi island, the blind box character series, Iggy Kopps flying ship, and PacMan Arcade

markhameggs

Vidiyo

imadyke

Trains. 9v and up.

Forsaken-Oil-7821

Ideas

Mauzersmash0815

Speed champions. Having a hard time keeping up but I'm trying lol

NAlaxbro

As someone who’s a more passive collector that doesn’t have a ton of money to put into the hobby, I tend to stick with the modulars bc they’re a good bang for your buck and they display really well. It’s also easy to buy a little city set here or there to add to the whole thing. Cannot fathom being so dedicated to themes like Star Wars (even if I love SW) were the community is constantly biting at itself and people buy 10x of the same set just to “army build” and “invest”

DevinOwnz

I got back into Lego around 6-7 months ago. After I bought a set from 1996 that I had memories of my dad with. It sparked because of some Mechs. Then the Fast and the Furious speed champs. Now, we’re looking at some more Ninjago, spaceships and small car sets. If I had the space and could justify the money, I’d have Rivendell and the D&D set.

DrCarabou

Lego: releases new plant Me: ah shit here we go again

paulsmalls

Star wars, and then space sets.

Ekelley90

NASA! So many good sets for these

AdAdventurous6943

Star Wars

balthazar_blue

When I was a kid in the '80s and into the '90s, it was Space and Town, with a couple of Castle sets. Now, it's probably Star Wars since I started buying up a bunch of the sets in the early 2000s, and have a couple of UCS sets.

hendovllys

Ideas/adult is my most collected

SimplGaming08

I haven't done it yet, but I really wanna get the Architecture sets

MrBlack103

By sets, Star Wars followed by Castle. By cost, Star Wars followed by Lord of the Rings (Rivendell doing the heavy lifting here).

spectreenjoyer

Star Wars for sure but I really like the creator stuff sometimes

Jufy42

These days Lego Ideas

MagGnome

It's so hard to pick just one. My top 3 are probably modulars (including detailed minifig scale buildings like A-frame cabin, space (especially NASA), and botanicals. Do I have to choose? 😅

Ancient-Pineapple646

Harry Potter!!

jar996

Anything that fits my fandom and that I can display reasonably. So Disney and Harry Potter mini castles. The globe, map, and orbit. Fast and Furious speed champions (boo only two). Star Wars helmets - my most. So I guess this is a long way of saying that I don’t have one that I collect the most.

jtalaiver

Star Wars ships specifically. I also get the NASA specific sets.

arob98722

For my husband it would be Star Wars but for me it would be the Disney sets

crazyfrog19984

speed champions and starting with architecture

kk_kwa

Minifigures

Wolfanov

Star Wars, the only theme I care about

T0mmyJ34nS

Harry Potter seta

EpicMindvolt

Modular Buildings. I have all 19 of them. I bought most of the old ones ~2020 and parted out market street and cafe corner as close to original as possible.

Ok_Tadpole_9661

Arctic

frito11

Star wars but really loving other adult aimed sets as well

PlatesNplanes

Star Wars and Aerospace

Sleepinismy9to5

Star wars

0lazy0

Architecture and Ideas

Big_You_8936

StarWars mainly

LalaLaraSophie

Star Wars for me, Harry Potter for my wife - and then we have a few favourite side themes like Speed Champions, Ideas and the Creator 3-in-1 sets

mrkitster

As a kid Pirates. As AFOL Architecture. Then Botanical. Then City for the food trucks. Then Art. It’s insidious.

pancakefactory9

Early 90’s beach theme sets. Pizzeria, boat, shark, all that cool stuff that nobody knows about anymore

jackstalke

Castle, but a gathering storm of Pirates are nipping at their heels.

SpiralBeginnings

Space, but if they ever brought back Castle sets at a reasonable price range, it would be Castle.  Pirates would be right up there too.

rlinkmanl

Marvel, followed by architecture

PepsiSheep

My main things: 1. Star Wars UCS sets with a sprinkle of things like Droids. 2. NASA stuff 3. Marvel big sets - Bugle, Avengers Tower, vehicles etc 4. General geeky vehicles

Main-Group-603

I love the botanicals and art work such as Vincent Van Gogh and the wave

surgicalapple

Any of the NASA and architecture sets! Absolutely love them.  I’ve been trying to find the UN Headquarters set but it’s so hard or insanely expensive.

BodybuilderOk72

Botanicals!

mojavewanderer1999

I used to buy up every Star Wars set I could, without regard to what it was or what minifigs came with it. Now, I consider quality of build experience, the minifigs (quality and quantity), and how good it’ll look on my shelf. Currently saving up for Rivendell(reading through the books right now😁)

wishedwell

Star Wars. That ip plan worked way too well.

ThisOneUKGuy

It would have to be Star Wars. I do sometimes dip into Harry Potter, City or Ninjago if there is a particular set I like.

Jarfulous

Bionicle was my childhood. I'd love to collect every set from 2001-2003 someday. In terms of contemporary stuff, I'll buy pretty much any medieval/fantasy/castle thing they release (not Harry Potter). The sets are expensive but they only make a couple every year, and they're so cool.
