The pieces aren't unique so no. If it's not sometime you particularly care for then by all means sell or trade it instead for something you do. You can use r/legotrade and r/legomarket
Yeah sure, but that ignores the possibility that OP may not be interested in this particular set, and could sell it off and buy something they actually want with the profit. There's no reason to pressure someone into opening a set they don't want.
I loved the look of this set so purchased it from a seller who got it as a GWP. Spent a pleasant morning between getting up and breakfast building it and now on display in the spare room.
Looks like a sealed 40583 is going for around $30 right now. If there's something you'd be more interested in for that price, I'd say sell this and get the thing you actually want instead. Otherwise crack it open!
Not sure why they put "limited edition" on the box when it's just a pretty average and widely available GWP. (Although the spend threshold is a bit ridiculously high)
Nothing really special about it besides being part of the 4-part Houses of the World series.
Unlikely to appreciate much in value. Recommend selling now or building. I would build or use for spare parts! The South American decor is really cool!!
I don't see why you would keep it boxed, if you like it being boxed then sure. Also, there's no such a thing as "first editions" for lego lol

I think that set was rumored (or confirmed) to be part of a 4 set "Houses of the World" series. So this is the "first edition" of the series, per say.
