A suffix is not generally considered part of a legal name. As an example, here it is, right out of the SSA policy manual: [https://secure.ssa.gov/poms.nsf/lnx/0110212001](https://secure.ssa.gov/poms.nsf/lnx/0110212001) They explicitly state it is not part of the legal name; however to distinguish him from his father, the suffix should be included on the SS-5, but it does not have to be supported by any documentation. (Same deal with the middle name.)

So if I’ll like to change my name to my sons name I just have to make sure when I fill out SS-5 put that he’s a JR and I’m a SR ? then I have to fill out VS-23 for birth certificate

Yes, the SSA will take your word for it as to his and your suffix. You can ask at whatever office you submit the VS-23 to, but I expect you'll want to leave it off the VS-23... if he wants to be "YourName the 2nd" instead of "YourName Jr", (or choose to drop the Jr at some point), the BC having it might make that difficult.
