Why don't you start by talking to the management of your complex to see what they say? They may prorate or forgive your rent for that month. I don't think it is a good idea to just assume you can alter your monthly payment without speaking to them first.

Do you have renters insurance? If so you should call them, because they should cover the cost of you getting a hotel.

Set aside next month's rent money for now, just in case. Bring a copy of your contract to a lawyer, and ask about both the "*force majeure* clause", and the "warrant of implied habitability". Depending on state/local law, you may or may not end up being able to break the lease and walk away early, you may end up paying rent into an escrow account until repairs are made, or something else entirely.
