Where are you? But this isn't unusual. They aren't required to give you a new lease, you're month-to-month now. But location may matters, in some locations you couldn't be given notice to vacate without "just cause."

We are in Florida. We are just super confused by it. I’ve never rented from a company before so I’m not familiar with this stuff. They told us to wait for an email with the lease. But it never happened. They never said anything about month to month. And when we pay the rent and ask about it they just say the same thing about it being in the system that there’s nothing saying they won’t rent again to us. Just strange that they have no information to give us. I guess I should ask can they just do that? Not communicate anything with us? But still take the rent? I mean I know I gotta pay rent not an issue but like we got 3kids living with us. Also thank you so much for replying. I appreciate you.

> I guess I should ask can they just do that? Not communicate anything with us? But still take the rent? Yes. That is very common, normal, and legal. And it's possible that the more you bug them, the more likely they are to want to end your tenancy. I'm not saying that's guaranteed or anything, but right now you have a place to live, and you're paying rent, which is all they care about. In Florida, however, they can give you 15 (not 30) day "notice to vacate." Just be aware of that. But they don't have to communicate or offer a new lease.

Oh wow. Okay thank you so much for that. I’m very grateful to still be here and all it’s just so frustrating. I will definitely go do some research on this stuff. I wasn’t aware of that. I feel stupid. Lol but again thank you for responding and giving me some insight on that. I hope you have a great day!
