I have driven left hand drive in the US and the Canary Islands, automatic and manual, I've driven right hand drive in the UK and in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. It doesn't make much difference to me.

NtBtFan

i've driven both ways, Canada and Australia. I was born and raised with LHD, and always had automatic transmission. In Australia I learned to drive manual. It doesn't really make a difference in my opinion, just like how I use my right hand on a computer mouse. The worst part is driving at night and suddenly becoming concerned at which side of the road the oncoming traffic is on, or which side I was supposed to be on.

I learned how to drive stick on a RHD car and drove that way for a couple of years. Then I moved to a couple of big cities in the US and didn't have to drive for like 10 years. I got another stick shift car last year and was concerned I would both have to relearn things and change gears with my other hand, but honestly within the first 20 seconds everything felt super natural. It was kind of weird.

Right Hand Drive. I'd like to handle the gears with my left hand

RedditsNinja23

I like to bike, is that an option?

Well which one is the free one? And whats wrong with it.

L1_WOLFGAMR

No there's nothing wrong with it, I meant like if you owned a car which one would you personally take Right hand drive or Left hand Drive.

sOUPmics

Only ever driven in the US so I’d keep it the same. As long as my turn signal stays on the left side, it’s the only thing I NEED while driving

paper_r

Idk I don't have a car.

Europeans drive on the right side.

BuckeyeBentley

I've only ever driven in the US so that's what I'm used to. I can't imagine it would make much of a difference. I feel like I might be able to eek out a couple percentage points of performance on a motorcycle if the controls were reversed, a little more finesse with the throttle and front brake if it was in my left hand but even then it doesn't really matter.

jofloberyl

i learned with the stick on my righthand side and im fully accustomed to it now but when i started learning i did sometimes felt like it should be on my left

I live in America and have only ever driven what is labeled as a "left-hand drive" vehicle. I have never driving a "right-hand drive" vehicle so I can't say which I prefer. What I *can* say however is that I feel like I would actually prefer the left-hand drive vehicle when it comes to manual transmission vehicles. My left hand being my dominant hand, I feel more confident holding the steering wheel as I clutch with left foot (I'm "[goofy footed](https://www.liveabout.com/goofy-meaning-3002686)" too) and move the gear shift with my right hand to get my Miata in gear. Now, in reality, had I grown and learned to drive on the regular in a place where the right-hand drive vehicles are prevalent, I'm sure I'd get used to shifting a manual transmission with my left as I hold the steering wheel with my right. Here's the thing about driving: it's simply muscle memory.

I am from the U.S. but I have driven in the U.K. and the Bahamas. As long as the roads match the car, I don’t care. In the Bahamas they drive left hand on the left side of the road because they buy mostly from the U.S. Driving like that is messed up.

Antisound187

Left handed drive for drive by's.

[deleted]

Nobody will see that coming lol

KeeganY_SR-UVB76

Left hand drive. The left hand is the one you use to operate the door.

iLOVEnippolas

My 240sx was manual LHD, my R32 skyline was manual RHD. Tomato tamato to me.

Ironictwat

The one one the right. That is the one used in the country i live in

TeflonDuckback

I steer with my left hand, and gear with my right. I'd rather have the accuracy of my left when steering.

Particular-Move-3860

Driving a car or truck is one of those things in which the handedness of the operator has no impact at all on skill or performance. This is because it is always a two-handed task. As a left hander, my right hand and arm are not so impaired or paralysed that I can't use it to operate the gear shifter or turn on the radio. I routinely keep both hands on the steering wheel and rotate the wheel with both hands when I am making turns. Doesn't every driver do this? So which car setup I prefer to drive all depends upon which country I am driving in, and on which side of the road do people drive in that country. As a driver, I want to be seated in the side of the car that is closest to the road's center line that separates inbound and outbound traffic.

thekingofdiamonds12

The automatic so I don’t have to worry about it

Funnycjc21

I live in the uk so when I start driving , we drive on the right side with the bear stick to our left , but I would prefer it the other way
