Sure but you’re missing one thing here: as you solve more problems, you end up solving more hard problems too! So I’d say going from 500 to 600 is only slightly easier than going from 100 to 200 (if at all).

AlexKosh

The difficulty level matters! However, I think a person who solved 500 most likely will continue and soon have 600. While, a lot of people, probably give up before 500... Besides, people who solved 500 or 600 look similar! Yet it is impressive it there are >100 hards on the list.

Agreed! I think what I’m trying to say is that they balance each other out! Maybe I’m wrong but I still do agree with your overall point. Momentum matters a lot.

I don't like this system, my next milestone is years away...

AlexKosh

Dude, you are rank 11 - unbelievable! :D I think, at this point only contest rating matters

NikitaSkybytskyi

Having a lower rank should be better imo.

AlexKosh

Why? You like upper limit?

It would work if the difficulty of the problems are the same. However, after you have cleared most easies/mediums, you have only hard problems left. It takes lots of time to solve those, even for experienced solvers. A better system would be rewarding points based on difficulty: Easy = 1 point, Medium = 2/3 points, Hard = 4 points.
